Amy Jordan Duggar Jordan Duggar King Duggar Wedding Part 4 AKA Amy and Dillon King

Amy is quite a regular person (excluding the fame whoring and throwing her family under the bus.

The Duggars believe they are better than her because Amy is "worldly" and "defrauding".

Such a sad state of affairs, the Duggars would HATE it if they had my cousins. 75% are Ice Addicts, but that is ANOTHER story...

For people who don't want to click the link, Amy and Dillon will be one of several couples on a reality show called Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars:

Quote

Amy (Duggar) King, cousin of the family at the center of 19 Kids and Counting has serious issues too. She’s shown describing a scary incident between herself and her husband of seven months, Dillon King, sharing that he “picked me up by my throat, all the way up to the ceiling.”

Oh my god, this is so fake i'm crying. This is what a reality show should be, all manufactured crappy drama. How can you be so lovey dovey on instagram and then go on a reality show to tell how fucking scary your husband is?

And if it is real, amy honey, get the fuck away.

ETA: Oh, that's why she made her instagram private

Oh wow, If her husband is treating her that way I really hope they tell Amy to leave him. She was told through her life by her cousins and all that her Parent's divorce made her own family wrong. I never thought Amy would be on a show like this - maybe a 'Duggar goes wild' spin off just.

And if she's been encouraged to fabricate or exaggerate it for the show then that's truly disgusting.

Ok this is a no win situation.  If it's true, it's horrible and if it's not she's a horrible person for even pretending such about her husband.

My ass is chapped though knowing the Duggars will say, " see, this is what happens when you give away pieces of your heart."

All the while forgetting that Josh put pieces of himself in way too many places.

I wonder if the Duggars think it's so inspiring how she stays with him through his flaws, just like Anna is admired by the Duggar girls for standing with Josh through his bullshit.

Some how I don't feel they extend that "courtesy"

to heathens.

I agree. Faking abuse for a paycheck is just even more despicable than being the victim of real abuse. Fabricating stuff like this (if that's what she's done) just makes it that much harder for real victims' stories to be thought of as credible. Liars keep women in abusive relationships.

If she's telling the truth (and I seriously doubt it), what the hell is she doing with him? Does Dill really have that much money to make it worth it for her to stay?   Who would stay with a guy who basically choked her? She doesn't appear to be afraid of him, quite the opposite. She has the means to leave an abusive marriage. But since I doubt this is how things played out in HER life, she gets no pass from me.

She and DUI Dill are despicable.

We can't assume she's fabricating the story to get on TV. My first instinct is always to believe survivors/victims of abuse because they're often dismissed. And remember that many stay with their partners for many reasons (denial, manipulation, fear, low-self esteem, lack of support, isolation etc). Blaming victims for not "taking charge" of their situation is shaming and not very helpful. Just because she doesn't appear to be afraid of him doesn't mean she isn't.

It's all kinds of problematic that a TV company would market abuse and minimize it as something to work through. I hope she's telling the truth (because to lie would be absolutely despicable) and I hope she finds an emotionally healthy and safe environment for herself.

Amy is a woman who is very much in charge with no self-esteem issues whatsoever. That's pretty evident when you see her social media. She saw her parents' marriage fall apart and was deeply affected by it. She doesn't seem the type who would just keep her mouth shut and let abuses occur, THEN go on a highly fabricated reality TV show situation to get "counseling" for it  by famewhore Hollywood doctors. Dr. V has been on other shows.  Why not get real counseling at home and keep the situation private? Isn't that what people who want to honestly work it out do?

She has a link for "dillanddugg's" agent in her Instagram profile. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. Sorry.

Yes. And there is a documented history of her father physically abusing her mother. These patterns often repeat themselves in the next generation.

It hadn't occured to me that she could be faking. If she has been abused, I have issues with her putting it out on front street if she's not going to leave him (and I'm aware that it's incredibly difficult for many people to leave their abuser, so I'm not knocking her for not leaving). That just doesn't make any kind of sense. One or both of them stands to lose face like this--I don't see how either of them will look good after this.

So I understand in these situations, many times women don't leave because they're afraid of the reprecussions and what the abuser might do to them. However, in Amy's situation, how is letting the whole world know about this any better? Don't you think Dillon would be mad everyone knows this happened?

Personally, If that happened to me I'd hightail back to my mom's house.

This is what I was trying to say above, and now that I think more about it, it makes it easier for me to believe it's not true. Or that it's been editted, out of context, for maximum drama.

even though the article says that amy is talking about her and dillon in that incident, its really not clear if that is who she is talking about in the clip. i think she might be describing someone else, a previous relationship maybe? who knows, its just bad editing to get you to watch a contrived mess of a show, imo

I could see the Duggars going: "Well this is why you shouldn't date" if Dillon grabbing her by the throat is true.

I'm a former victim of domestic abuse and I don't think marriage boot camp would solve such a thing. I am really hoping it's not true for Amy's sake; but to make something like that up? That is truly abhorrent behaviour.

Wow, not the place to work through DV issues, if that is the case. We can't make too many assumptions because editing has a way of fooling the audience. I tend to believe DV reports, because there are so many barriers to reporting DV (and I would NEVER judge someone for staying with their abuser no matter how badly I would like to see them leave). At the same time, I am wary of the idea that he lifted her to the ceiling by her neck (how low are their ceilings?) and wouldn't be surprised if the producers encouraged exaggeration.

I hope we learn in the episodes that she's not talking about Dillon. Because if she's a survivor of DV, I want her to get help that is not influenced by ratings-hungry producers. And if she is not, there is yet another story to discourage true survivors from coming forward.

Nah. I think it's fine keeping it in here. Especially because Amy made her Instagram account private recently. Not much else to discuss with these two.

-------

I wouldn't be surprised if this was just edited to appear worse than it is. Showing a clip of Amy describing a prior abusuve relationship or a story about another couple isn't going to draw viewers the way that a clip edited to imply her husband is abusuve would.

Maybe we could change the name of this thread?

I am also interested to see what plays out with the bachelorette couple.. they were always my fav.

The way commercials for reality shows are edited, it seems like Amy could have been referring to anyone with the choking comments. It seems so obvious that she would be referring to her current husband, since they're on a marriage bootcamp show, but she could have even been sharing an (embellished?) story of something that happened to her in the past, with someone else. Probably not, but just saying. The editing on those commercials/previews gets me every time.

Phew, I just realized many others had the same train of thought that I did. You are all smart cookies ;)

Pure speculation. You don't know that.

I'm not saying this show isn't a gross way to work through issues and/or that she's not a famewhore. But assuming what you say, especially when it's related to possible physical abuse, is rather naive.

amy posted that we should be watching marriage bootcamp with a bunch of emoji's

if he really did that to her - she needs to run away from him

and I won't be watching at ALL

Amy made her Instagram private? I can still see it but maybe because I've been following her for a while.

I watched the clip and in some parts of it...she seems to be acting. And she is no actress, that's for sure!

The abuse story....I am hoping it isn't about her husband.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
