Josh Duggar Part 9: Adult Film Star Lawsuits are so Godly

With regard to the crew drinking beer - many years ago I was working as a tour guide for an extended tour of the UK. Our group were what I later found to be IFB, and the Pastor was one of the most unpleasant people I ever worked with. He added to the itinerary daily (extras I later found he had been refused already) and we were working a 14 hour plus day.(in the days before drivers' hours were controlled by tachograph!) When he found myself and the driver enjoying a beer and a cigarette, out of sight of the group, at the back of the bar, he demanded we stop. I was so tired I just said he had paid for my work, not my life, and if he was so anti alcohol why was he in the bar? There was no emergency, or the hotel would have informed me.

The driver and I did our jobs to the best of our ability,(touring cathedrals at 7am, before breakfast!) but had 1 hour to ourselves for a drink and a ciggie at night. At the end of 14 days, with over 40 passengers, our tip was a cheap bible each. In the UK, guides and drivers are taxed on presumed tips, like wait staff in the US - so he actually cost us money! So I am not surprised at JimBob thinking he can control the private lives of those who work with him.

According to the Inquisitor, Josh wants to renew his wedding vows... who knows.

I am just imagining the song he will sing as she walks down the aisle this time....

Some of the most interesting quotes from bassxcandy:

  • bassxcandyI feel like Derick was more of a real person when he was in Kathmandu alone. He went to a real college and made a deliberate decision to serve solo. When you see him in the footage with Jill during their courtship he seems a lot different. Just a regular guy. Getting married to Jill and having a baby, then making an immediate decision to move to a different country seems forced. Seems like an unplanned escape from the scandals at a really bad time. I think that's why this mission seems so shady.

bassxcandyAlso, it's 100% true that Jinger wants to flee and become a photographer based in New York City, but she isn't allowed. This was an actual conversation had with my friend. #freejinger

And regarding the Nike crew member:

  • bassxcandySo when I was talking to my friend, he said that the Producer knew something was up when none of the boys would make eye contact with her. Then Jim Bob had to communicate with my friend (who is male) to instruct her to change clothes.

Who knows how much of this is true or not, but it's fun to follow. People are still asking her questions.

this is all fascinating - you can see Derick has changed and Ben - IT DOES NOT SURPRISE me at all to know that he sidestepped in

@sawasdee, why didn't you just stuff that turkey in the luggage bay of the bus?  A Bible as a tip.  Like, they're really, really rare and hard to get in the UK or something.  Any religious scholars here, aren't there a whole lotta verses in both Jewish and Christian scriptures concerning just and fair treatment of workers?

The best religious groups I ever worked with(and sadly, I worked with many different ones, mostly unpleasant) were the Society Of Friends. They were the most considerate, polite - to each other, and employees they met -and kind people I ever met.  I would be asked in hotels who they were, because of their unfailing good manners, and caring about those with whom they interacted. I became the  go-to for Friends groups at our company; although we usually tried desperately to wriggle out of assignment to religious groups, this was one I liked!:my_biggrin:

I do NOT want to see Josh renewing his vows (I don't want to see Josh, period.) on TV.

Good thing I choose not to have a TV!

ETA:  Of course "Duggar Productions" will probably film it and stick it on YouTube.

AM I wrong for wanting her to sing a good Taylor Swift song to him?  Preferably one of the many hit songs she wrote about an ex.  (or Adele or Kelly Clarkson)

Let's see his current set of wheels.  What's the damage look like?

There's no reason to believe this person is telling the truth about having any inside knowledge.  She also references FJ in at least one post.  She seems to be simply parroting things that have been commented upon here.

I am sorry, of course you all have a reasonable point and I like FJ a lot also

because people here try to get to the bottom of things/ scrutinise things, BUT:

Every time we get some infos about the Duggars  there are so many post stating that we can not believe this since, hey it is from the internet. I believe most people here know that this kind of info might be true or not, we simply do not know.

And as much as there will be frauds out there posting something  that is not true for attention or whatever, I do also believe that e.g. people who know people who are part of the Duggar crew do exist and that they might post something in the internet or that people like Alice post something.

We can never be sure, but after all we are here to speculate.

(This time it was´t actually so bad but this has been bothering me for a Long time)

And just because some things occasionally turn out to be true this does not mean there aren't a ton of frauds out there.  This individual has provided zero evidence that provides any credibility to her stories.  Frankly, she sounds like she either lurks or is a member here.

As we were discussing in another thread, the story that Josh wants another baby and to renew his vows sounds more made up than real.  From what we know of Josh, how likely is it that he is thinking fondly of reuniting with Anna?

If anyone is thinking about Anna and Josh renewing vows, it is JB, trying to sell the story to TLC in the hope it will make Josh acceptable again.  And I wouldn't put it past them to do a special on Anna reuniting with Josh, which would triumphantly end in a renewal of vows ceremony, if they thought they could get the audience.

But Josh, wherever he is, is not really interested in renewing his vows.

Josh doesn't want another baby any more than I do.  And I agree, the whole thing has a whiff of Jim Bob's TLC desperation.

What I'm most curious about is whether Josh will turn out to have any gonads at all when it comes to standing up to his father "post-rehab".   Josh is not only a character of poor moral fiber, he's also weak and lazy.  So how does it eventually play out?  The answer that appears most obvious - that he fearfully plays along with Dad - may not turn out to be what happens, if only because I don't think JB is going to let him get away with the laziness any longer.

I will be interested to see if he has lost or gained weight in "rehab".  If he has lost weight due to his food being limited by the institution and, since he has been deprived of sex for many months isn't it likely that he will be amping up his prior behaviors since his time away will be an amplified version of his time in the TTH?

It is difficult to know how Josh will behave initially because we don't know what has been happening in "rehab."  We also don't know how guilty he felt/didn't feel about his sexual transgressions. Just because he watched porn, consorted with strippers, committed adultery etc. etc. doesn't mean that he felt what he was doing was okay.  He may be feeling that his disgrace is divine retribution and/or a warning from Christ or whatever.

It is possible, as some people here have suggested, that he will just go through the motions of being contrite, will just pretend to be reformed, etc.  It is also possible that he will come out "rehab" full of remorse and good intentions.  (I don't think he will stay on the straight and narrow for long, but I do think it is possible that he will try.)

Without knowing whether he will come out sincerely repentant or just acting, it is impossible to know if he will want to rebel but not dare or whether he will start out trying to live the Fundie way.

Eventually, we all know that he will fail.  The question is whether he will try to make it work for a while because he believes it is right or whether he will, from the beginning, pretend to be "reformed" when he knows he isn't, just because he is lazy and fears JB.

Either way, it will be interesting.

Of course he does. Reminding Anna that Jesus is always watching is his trump card to keeping her in their marriage.

I will only be happy about this ceremony if it is a 'vow removal' instead of a vow renewal, with Anna gaining financial support and custody of the kids. If they got a TV special for it i would love to see Anna tell Josh off and ditch his sorry ass at the altar.

@zebra#13, @jesuscampsongs,

I climbed Pendle Hill more than once, visited the Swarthmoor Meeting House and Hall, and visited many Friends related sites in York, East Anglia and London. We have Friends to thank for the foundation of most of our chocolate companies, which gave us a reason to visit Cadbury World(:my_biggrin:) and the model housing which accompanied the chocolate factory. They also established Penal Reform in this country, so a visit to Elizabeth Fry's home near Norwich.. Fascinating touring, off the usual track of Shakespeare, Stonehenge, and yet another cathedral!

I agree but, I'll bet you the bank that JB made damn sure that the "counselors" at whatever "rehab" he's at, are focusing on convincing Smuggar that the only option is to repent and reverse his sinful ways so he can come back a new man and continue his life as it should have been.  Any credible in-patient or lock-up style rehab will help the individual sort out the issues that led to why they are there with no outside influence.  I seriously (and SEVERELY) doubt that he's getting any sort of objective help at all.    JB wrote them the script along with a big fat check and Josh's script is ready and waiting for when he makes his "comeback".

! So I am not surprised at JimBob thinking he can control the private lives of those who work with him.

At one workplace, I found myself working with a boss who was also a fundie pastor.  He had certain ideas about the people he worked with.  One of the staff was Jewish who eventually left because boss would discourage clients to work with him (it was a mortgage brokerage) and he also had certain ideas about me as a childless working woman.   He drove out the recently widowed guy with a drinking problem too.   He replaced the staff that left with his buddies who went on and on about church, Promise Keepers and how their wives stayed at home, blah, blah, blah.   I eventually left because I saw no future or raises with a manager who felt I shouldn't be there.

I am a cat lover but can't have cats (Mr. No is allergic) so I go with amusing avatars of cats.

That office was part of a larger company but they lost their heavy hitters, the ones that really raked in the $$$, (namely the Jewish guy and a young guy who was a bit of hothead but a go-getter) and replaced them with guys who were the boss' buddies but complete novices to the business.   One of them was a pastor who left his little church in order to pursue "success" (his words) and his resignation letter to his church, which he had to provide to his new boss to prove he was really leaving, came over the fax machine.  Let's just say that if I were in his congregation, I would say "good riddance".  I think the idea was for Mr. Fundie Pastor Manager was to have a more godly staff that would serve the megachurch in the area, in which this guy was part of the ministry team.  I don't really know how it went after I left, but if the day I left was any indicator...not good.  Fundie Manager decided to have new office furniture brought in and he completely screwed up the measurements.  As I was leaving, hje was standing in the midst of office furniture that was clearly not fitting into the space.   :smiley-signs136:
