I wonder if any women will come forward now. There's always someone who wants their 15 minutes of fame and lots of money.

I am waiting for all the dirt to come out not only about Josh-entire Duggar family. Now it would be fair game. :cracking-up:

I feel for Anna and the M-children but no one else. JB this is want happens when you become a PIMP :stir-pot:

Now that Josh has confessed, I expect the women to start coming out of the woodwork. There's got to be a Jessica Hahn type character out there, just waiting for her 15 minutes of fame.

I'm actually wondering if Josh does have some kind of problem with sex. It could be anything from a very warped view of sex from ATI teachings or something more serious. I generally roll my eyes when fundies start talking about "sex addiction," but given how there are some people who are addicted to video games (there have even been instances where parents got so into playing online games, that they neglected their children to death), I wouldn't automatically rule it out as a possibility in some cases. The molestation alone is a big red flag that something wasn't right with Josh, and I doubt that Gothard re-education camp was going to do anything but confuse him further.

My mind is kind of boggled that he would spend that much money on AM when he had multiple small children that needed caring for. I suppose he was getting a pretty penny for being on the show and from the FRC, but with 3-4 small children, half in diapers, money goes quite quickly. I hope he wasn't spending needed money on cheating sites and gifts for other women, but I guess we may learn that pretty soon.

Honestly, I think he's just a garden-variety narcissist-- maybe with some inborn tendencies towards narcissism that were fostered by his parents and then further fostered by himself and his lack of introspection.

That statement was a bit meh to me and I am glad to see I'm not the only one that is less than impressed by it. I guess what bothers me was the spin on it about porn. as if that was the reason he signed up for AM.

They all need secular mental health therapy.

I still haven't read part on of the thread. It seems almost overwhelming to go back and read it now.

He is trying to turn it into a "porn made me do it" or "porn was cheating" story instead of "Josh Duggar spent years cheating on his wife." And people will fall for it. They love the Duggars so much that they are desperate for any tiny strand that they can grasp onto to make this less awful.

One man and several women?

To be fair, that's Biblical marriage.

New show!

Josh's Sister Wives!!!

Seriously? One well-crafted statement very likely informed by a PR genius, and you are back to leghumping this asshole?

Assholes gonna be assholes. :cray-cray:

EDIT: Oh, and he didn't "own up." He got fucking caught. There is a world of difference between those two things.

This exactly. He seems to be one of those people who will swear they've told you everything about a situation, but in reality they're only admitting to what they've been caught dead to rights on. I won't be surprised to find further revelations about Josh, but it will be like pulling teeth with incremental "apologies."

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the whole "blame pornography" angle (although predictable) is a set-up to give Josh or the Duggars as a whole a new angle to live off the public now that their TV show is gone? How many speaking engagements can they line up to warn about the evil dangers of the Internet and pornography and all that jazz? I'm sure JB is pitching the new spin-off idea to TLC as we speak!

Atleast he didnt weasle his way out of this. I feel sorry for his wife but seeking sex with another person without the spouse 's knowledge at least isnt illegal in the wider world. He is still a damn big hypocrite. Just a way t show that shoving an sexually interested person in an early marriage is not a good idea.

But would she have the money for a lawyer to fight this?

Grandparent rights are questionable in most states. I imagine she would have no problem finding a free lawyer for that. People hate the Duggars, many people hate grandparent rights, people feel bad for her, and in general there are plenty of pro bono options for low income litigants needing help with this type of issue.

Agreed, but that ship has sailed. I watched GMA this morning and there was no mention, which I thought was weird.

I watched the second hour of GMA and the hacking of AM was mention it and Josh was called out directly ... said that he was allegedly linked to have had an acct. It was just part of their news story section at the top of the hour, it was not discussed or talked about at the table with any of the hosts.

But what really brought him down this time wasn't porn, it was AM. Is he going to claim that porn was a slippery slope to AM? Because there are plenty of people who look at porn, but don't sign up on a cheating website. :music-tool:

This was exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't be surprised that while writing that statement they were plotting how they can use this situation to make money.

I'm almost surprised he didn't try to spin the whole "the devil made me do it" thing...It always seems like people are so quick to forgive once you bring Jesus or the devil into it.

Good point. Maybe he was afraid of being caught buying birth control or condoms?

You can buy condoms on Amazon so he doesn't have to do it face to face.

He could also setup a post office box to them discretely delivered.

I agree. I bet within two years Josh will land a book deal and write about overcoming pornography addiction and adultery.

I noticed the Today show and some more mainstream gossip sites aren't running with this story. Anyone know why?

Very disappointing, isn't it?

Well, a statement like that makes future findings less shocking.

I hate that he is blaming it on a pornography addiction- especially when the website in question is not about pornography per se, but actual hook ups. Way different ball game. But that answers the question that yes- there is likely paid memberships to pornography sites as well.

I'm also a little thrown by the 14-15 year old statement. I admit to falling off reading every single thread about the first scandal- but I thought poor Joshie didn't know any better with his siblings because he was so young (in the 12-13 year old range?) Not that it makes it ANY better, but there is a big difference between a 13 year old boy and a 15 year old boy- so either it didn't end when his parents said so, and he had a slip of the tongue- or at the age of 15 he should have been even less protected by his family for it. 15 for Josh puts Joy Anna at 6, not 4- so me thinks this went on a lot longer than we were led to believe (no surprise there).

He is a scumbag. If this falls back on Anna having to forgive him because he confessed- that is so f'd up I can't even think straight. WHAT A DOUCHE!

He was 15 when he assaulted 5 year old Joy.

He's worse than a douche.

Meh. Every culture from the dawn of time has had whores. He would have sought it out one way or another... Internet porn did not make him do this.

Yes, that is true but when you don't have to search internet and knew what sex is about when you are a teenager i think you don't fall into the rat hole like he did now

Wait a second.......are we sure the blog with the statement is a real Duggar blog? People on FB are posting the link to the "real" blog and stating that Josh has really made no such admission at all at this point. Anyone know for sure???

In other words, I've always thought that Anna was very pretty. Why would he cheat on her? Especially since she sees her only career in life besides being a mother is to be a helpmeet to Josh. She's been taught to basically worship the ground he walks on. Why would he stray from her?

I was only responding to the idea presented with certainty that Anna would get sole custody and keep the kids from josh, Jb and jchelle.

I don't think that is likely based on what we know. But there could be stuff we don't know that would change my opinion.

I never meant to indicate the duggars parents would get custody. Sorry for that confusion, I wasn't clear.

Okay, so I don't know if it's been talked about here yet because I'm still on the last thread (seriously I'm never going to catch up ever), but Josh's admission is on the family blog. I'm really disappointed in it. Like he makes it seem like all he did was watch porn. But, I guess I'm not at all surprised. The man did say it was "just a mistake" that he molested 5 girls.

Yes. It's posted on the official Duggar website.
