You forgot to mention that Josh had UNPROTECTED sex with a porno star/prostitute/stripper while Anna was pregnant.  He endangered the lives of his wife and his unborn child.  How bad does it have to get?"

How do you know he had unprotected sex? He never said that. This girl is a professional. She's not going to take a chance of getting preggers. She would have protected herself. & I'm certain HE wouldn't risk it.

I imagine there's pressure on Anna to stay with Josh from the Duggars and also from Anna's parents. That pressure is no small thing- I've seen people make huge compromises with their own happiness to avoid rejection within their families. It's very sad, but that's the hold some extremely religious families have over their kids, even grown ones. But there's a tiny amount of hope that Anna will eventually leave imo, because she does have the example of siblings that chose a different path and have managed to do fine and still be a part of the family.

It isn't just fundie families that can have a hold on you. I come from a very secular family but my parents and relatives on both sides cultivated in us a strong sense of what was/wasn't expected and how we should lead our lives.

To do something that goes against everything one has been taught, even when one knows the teachings were misguided can be very hard. When one believes that the teachings were right and that one is at fault must be even harder.

Anna does have three siblings who are more or less out of the cult, though Rebekah originally was following her husband's wishes and I am not sure how her (pending?) divorce came about.  But I will bet that Anna has looked on their lives as sinful, has prayed for them and worried about their chances of salvation.  Her sense of their sinfulness could easily weigh against her trusting their encouragement to leave.

I am not making excuses for Anna. I am just agreeing that what we all see as the reasonable and obvious thing for her to do must be less than obvious and possibly sinful to her.  And that is aside from the concern any normal person would have about being able to support and raise those four kids alone.

Apparently not. Danica Dillon told InTouch that Josh did not use a condom. So if her story is true, yes, they had unprotected sex. http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/danica-dillon-reveals-new-shocking-details-of-her-terrifying-and-rough-sexual-encounters-with-josh-duggar-68394

Also, I said before that her original story and her story in her suit didn't line up, but reading this article again, I feel differently. Back in August she said that he was physically not as rough the second time, but he was still grabbing her hair, calling her names, and verbally abusive. I do not understand why she agreed to a second time with him, especially as she felt she had to hide her phone under her pillow in case she had to call 911, but based on this article I no longer think her stories don't line up.

Regardless, if she's not lying, she was incredibly foolish. Being a sex worker doesn't give you immunity from making idiotic choices.

Anna is featured in the new preview for Counting On. Not just a little clip of her from the past. It's an interview. So it looks like she's staying with the Duggar gravy train after all.

I was just coming here to see if others watched this. I will be curious to see what all Anna says. Though I suspect I probably won't like it. She'll probably talk about sticking with Josh and blah blah blah.

I'll admit...I am slightly surprised that Anna will be on at all.

I bet they won't even prominently feature her until the last special so that they can get all the viewers.

And I told you they are STILL protecting or siding with Josh and blaming the media

insane- who wants to bet that this is the special - a 2 hour event about the media and bits of five minutes about jessa and jill

this is truly bizarre and sick

TLC (the LEWD channel)  has hit an all time low with this one. Poor Anna doesn't even know how exploited she is.

What's it going to take for TLC to cut all ties with this family?

I was going to say "something big" like serious jail time or something, but even then I don't think it would make a difference. Though they could do a special on them getting deeply involved with Papa Keller's prison ministry if that was the case.

Maybe Jim Bob going to jail for something - anything - would do it?

They have got to keep the gravy train going.    Even as Josh is the gift that keeps on giving, the disasterous Kelly interviews, the boring lives that don't really need to be on television, the scandals that might might any other family want to disappear off the face of the earth, I think it speaks volumes about their real financial situation.  They are in a panic over how they are going to make it.  Sure JB has his properties, but there's still things like taxes, maintenance, plus supporting 19 kids including spouses and families.  Because let's get real, those kids, with the possible exception of JD, are not going to make it on their own.    Even Derrick, who seemed to have some prospects, appears to be blowing his chances.   Ben might have a chance if he got his head out of where the sun don't shine.

Of course Anna is going to be on the TLC specials and of course she's going to talk about the Josh Scandal(s). Aren't Jill and/or Jessa on another promo talking about it/them?  TLC knows the main reason anyone is going to tune into anything about the Duggars' is to see "How Are They Handling the Aftermath?"  They'll probably have a decent audience for the specials, since TLC is promoting it as sensationalizing.  But after that, when people realize that these folks are all going to sweep this under the rug, they'll lose interest.  Who cares what the Dullwalds are up to? The only way the Duggars will keep the TV show going is to exploit these scandals, and I just don't see them as being willing to do that or even really understanding that that is all anyone cares about seeing. Sure, TLC will exploit them as long as they can make money off of doing it, probably even to the point of putting Josh on the air as part of his inevitable "redemption tour."  But if the Duggars think they're ever going back to being the Quaint Little Christian Family With a TV Show Ministry days of yore, then they're greatly mistaken.

No one in that preview video seems natural and sincere--it all seems rehearsed and staged.  I doubt "candid" will accurately describe Anna's part in it.  And it may be no more than a 1 minute report on her response to the news ("I was devastated. It broke my heart. I asked myself what I could have done to prevent it. I pray a lot.") and then an "update" on how she and the kids are getting on.

And my guess is that the focus will be on the Ashley Madison thing, not the molestation revelations.  It is to the family's advantage (and TLC's) to focus on the infidelity/ porn addiction rather than the prior scandal because with this one only Josh is to blame.  He is a disappointment and a sinner but the sin is all on him.

But we will see.

Any bets on whether TLC and the Dugs will mention Anna's guilt in notproviding  Joshley with the sex he needed as the reason he strayed? They wouldn't dare. Or would they. Arseholes.

I thought the special was going to be only about Jill, Jessa, their husbands, their boring lives and staged conversations. I wasn't expecting to see Anna get featured in a preview. I really hope it's not a TLC testing the waters thing to see how the public takes to other Duggars being featured on the specials so they can bring back 19KaC. I also hope they didn't pressure Anna too hard to interview for the show.

I have wondered whether Josh ever approached Anna with his desires for rough sex, and she failed to meet that "need."

The only positive I see out of Anna (and maybe the M kids) being in this is that I hope she (sans Josh) was compensated and can use this money to support herself/kids and protect it from the pending lawsuit against sleazeball.

I feel like this is the most likely scenario. I really doubt that Anna will say anything that we don't already know or suspect. I don't think anyone on this special will give a candid report on how they're feeling.

After seeing the preview i want to punch Josh in the nuts. And slap every Duggar. And every Keller (the bad ones). And take them to therapy later.

Poor poor brainwashed Anna.

If the show is going to feature Spurgeon (lol autocorrect doesn't know that's a word ) and Israel, do you think it might have anything on Meredith as well?

Anna always seemed like she was really struggling with the little ones, it must be even harder now that Josh is gone to Jesus Camp. I wonder if the show will have anything about that.

It's only a matter of time before Mackynzie will become the new Jana and have to take care of all the siblings.

What makes you say it seemed like Anna was struggling with the little ones? I'm genuinely curious, as I haven't been able to watch the last couple seasons of the show except for what was uploaded on youtube, so I never saw much footage of her with three kids.

You have probably hit the nail on the head. She probably won't be on much at all. And it will all be canned responses, I'm sure.

I also feel like the emotions and stuff in the clips seem staged and rehearsed.

I think Anna is genuinely baby crazy. I think Josh is genuinely power hungry and wanted only enough kids, maybe 5-7, to fit into his Families First political agenda without crossing into "freak show" territory. "Josh Duggar for Senate" on a billboard years down the line with a picture of his family of 8 wouldn't look as crazy as "Josh Duggar for Senate" with a picture of his family of twenty. Remember JB's campaign pictures with all eleventy kids in frumpers toting violins? How seriously was he taken?

Well, JB was able to get elected once with twelve or thirteen frumper-clad kids, and so did his friend Jim Holt. I think the reason why the electorate eventually soured on JB is because he only showed up to work to vote against abortion and nothing else. That's what I remember from the old newspaper articles we were discussing pre-Joshgate.
