Bob Shupe commented on David Botkin's post. It is one doozy of a comment. Swig any alcohol you need beforehand to get through this:

Bob Shupe, as in Erika's wife? That comment makes no fucking sense whatsoever. And it's "agenda" not "addenda". "Addenda" is something you add to the end of a book... "add-end-a". It's the plural of addendum.

Lori posted this. I wonder what Lori's cousin thinks God's plan is.

Yesterday, our Supreme Courts made gay marriage the law of the land. Yes, I wept when I read this since I know it is so far removed from God's will for marriage and hurts those involved in gay marriage, along with our society. However, we must not fret for even Jesus spoke these words when He walked this earth, "A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the propeht Jonah." {Matthew 16:4}.

God reminds us 365 times in His Word to not fear; a verse for every day of the year. We are NOT to live in fear but in the joy of the Lord, giving thanks for all that He has done for us. We must be in His Word daily, seeking those things which are above, and NOT things on this earth for this earth is NOT our home. Our home is with Jesus where we will spend eternity with Him; a place with no sin, sorrow or suffering.

Therefore, in the midst of the corruption swirling around us, we must continue to live in obedience to the Lord with the power of the Holy Spirit living within us and God's amazing grace on our lives! "Never dread any consequence resulting from absolute obedience to His command. Never fear the rough waters ahead...God is greater than the roar of raging water and the mighty waves of the sea. 'The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever" {Psalm 29:10}. Dare to trust Him! Dare to follow Him! Then discover that the forces that blocked your progress and threatened your life become at His command the very materials He uses to build your street of freedom" {F. B. Meyer}.

NEVER give into the society's perverted and evil ways. Do NOT compromise with them in any way. Stand firm in your faith and the hope that we have in Christ. Refuse to become a lukewarm Christian. As the days get darker, we will be able to easily see the separation of the wheat from the tares. God is so much greater than the evil forces that are at work today; SO MUCH GREATER! Finally, be encouraged by these words from Charles Spurgeon ~

BANISH for ever all thought of indulging the flesh if you would live in the power of your risen Lord. It were ill that a man who is alive in Christ should dwell in the corruption of sin. "Why seek ye the living among the dead?" said the angel to Magdalene. Should the living dwell in the sepulchre? Should divine life be immured in the carnal house of fleshly lust? How can we partake of the cup of the Lord and yet drink the cup of Belial? Surely, believer, from open lusts and sins you are delivered: have you also escaped from the more secret and delusive lime-twigs of the Satanic fowler? Have you come forth from the lust of pride? Have you escaped from slothfulness? Have you clean escaped from carnal security?

Are you seeking day by day to live above worldliness, the pride of life, and the ensnaring vice of avarice? Remember, it is for this that you have been enriched with the treasures of God. If you be indeed the chosen of God, and beloved by Him, do not suffer all the lavish treasure of grace to be wasted upon you. Follow after holiness; it is the Christian's crown and glory.

An unholy church! it is useless to the world, and of no esteem among men. It is an abomination, hell's laughter, heaven's abhorrence. The worst evils which have ever come upon the world have been brought upon her by an unholy church. O Christian, the vows of God are upon you. You are God's priest: act as such. You are God's king: reign over your lusts. You are God's chosen: do not associate with Belial. Heaven is your portion: live like a heavenly spirit, so shall you prove that you have true faith in Jesus, for there cannot be faith in the heart unless there be holiness in the life.

As my cousin, Crystal, wrote on Facebook yesterday, "He has already won the battle. Everything is going according to His plan."

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;

that put darkness for light, and light for darkness,

that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

Isaiah 6:20

Ask, and it shall be given until you! From our old LOL Doug thread:

And, because it's too good not to:

Um...is Doug wearing lipstick in that wedding picture? Also, Belle? Beal? Bali?....his wife... looks like she instantly regretted saying "I do."

Ooh, I didn't think to look in that subforum. I checked out the discussion in Family Life last night, which was bad enough, so I didn't have the heart to attempt reading the shitfest that must be the World News subforum's discussion. Maybe later today

omg, from your link:

I think God will destroy some US cities, like he did with Sodom and Gomorrah, he has warned us time and time again over the years, but this is just a kick in the face to all that, I was actually surprised some kind of natural disaster or something similar didnt happen today, but ultimately, I think God will have no choice but to show us he is NOT pleased, if this non-action on his part continues though, and the world sees absolutely nothing in response to such an important issue, it will lead more and more people to loose faith, after all, God was not shy when it came to showing his wrath in biblical days, but when it comes to modern times..nothing..?? Im as perplexed as anyone as to why this is, but if it continues, it will likely influence me to make a change.

:wtf:

The (euch) Pearls, posted by a girl I knew in high school:18607_10153384387914407_611834110943308385_n.jpg?oh=d8b7dac918f17a134fb310f64554cc7f&oe=55E672AD

God is only biding his time before he judges America. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

...This girl is pregnant. I feel like it's my civic duty to tell her that she follow people who advocate beating infants.

It makes me sad that so many of my family and friends are posting things like what I have seen quoted from other fundies on this thread today. I get a steady stream of Obama bashing, anti-abortion, anti-equality, misogynistic, lets-all-excuse-josh-duggar for my recoiling horrorviewing pleasure. My politics and social stances are so far removed from all of that ish that I don't even get involved in discussions or let them know how I really feel, because it would be like talking to a stump. And make my family think that I am definitely going to hell.

So then I come over to FJ and rejoice that there are sane minds out there yet!!

Jordan Niednagel: “Our greatest defense of marriage is not necessarily for us to condemn the decision made by the courts today, but for Christians to show what true, Biblical, loving marriage looks like. Heterosexuals have ruined marriage, both inside and outside the church, and we are the guilty ones. May God kindle a fire in our hearts today that shines so bright that people can only stop to stare and say, ‘Wow, I want a marriage like that.’â€

Oh, Gertrude, PLEASE!

So far the fundies we follow here have failed miserably at showing/describing a marriage that I would put up with, much less want.

Australia would actually be the best place for fundies as our prime minister trained to be a priest, (despite) having a gay sister, is a devout Catholic and once Canberra accidentally unbanned gay marriage there for a day and it was quickly changed back and every gay couple had their marriage licence revoked.

And we've already been told things won't be changing.

If all these fundies find out Australia hasn't unbanned gay marriage, I'm more than happy to move to Canada (or as our Prime Minister calls it Canadia).

Can't be Australia. They'd have to give up their guns, and that's about the only thing more important than hating the gays.

Pinterest posted a celebration picture on its FB page yesterday with its employees holding rainbow flags, etc. The comments from the right were fantastic to read. Lots of flounces and announcements that Pinterest is losing their business. Ummmm? Last I checked, you don't pay to use Pinterest.

I'm not quite sure who they think creates half of the fabulous Pinterest projects. It's not all Mormon women in Utah. I'm pretty sure there's a hefty dose of the gay in those projects.

Over on "Ladies Against Feminism's" FB page, there is much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, and rending of garments. They're posting their "heterosexual and modest only" wedding photos (a gold mine, for those interested); wondering how they can possibly boycott all "35 companies celebrating sodomy" (no more Target! or Visa! or Netflix!); and, finally, discussing how to RECLAIM THE RAINBOW! It symbolizes God's promises, don'tcha know. (Like that's going to happen...)

Is he the husband of the inside and outside beauty queen contestant? The one who wrote her own letter of recommendation with dissolved pink fondants?

So... I've had a couple glasses of wine and decided to stir the pot a bit. I wonder what will shake loose. If they ban me, I might need y'all to tell me what happened.

All of these rainbows are making me crave Skittles.

The USA is becoming more inclusive while the fundies sputter and fume their way to early graves.

Sad. :(

From the Fort Worth paper:

A gay couple who had been together for more than half a century were the first to be licensed and married in Dallas County. Jack Evans, who is 85 and walks with a cane, had a small rainbow gay pride flag tucked in his lapel while George Harris, 82, carried red roses as they left the ceremony at the Dallas County Records Building.

"We waited a long time for this," said Harris, who met Evans in 1961 and kept their relationship secret for the first 20 years.

"It was a very scary period for us," Harris said. "You couldn't be open about anything."

Among the gay plaintiffs who sued Texas was Mark Phariss, a Plano attorney who was friends with Abbott in law school in the 1980s. When Abbott was paralyzed by a fallen tree in 1984, Pharris flew to Texas to sit bedside with his friend, and they exchanged Christmas cards for years.

After the ruling Friday, Phariss' longtime partner, Vic Holmes, proposed to him. They are getting married in November, but Phariss said he was not inviting the governor.

"I don't think that would be prudent," he said

Governor Abbott is very lucky to have a friend like Mr. Phariss. Too bad he can't return the favor and be genuinely happy that his friend can finally marry the man he loves.

No, they won't come here - we won't let them have their guns, and most fundies LOVE their guns. Maybe even more, or at least as equally as they hate those pesky, evil gays.

I'm glad we stuck to our guns on that one. Pardon the pun.
