For those of you asking about the episode where Jana is crying about the jewellery box --- If you subscribe to the Embassy Institute website ($9 per month) you can watch the full presentation where Jana burst into tears. Their speech pretty much mirrors the book they wrote. Here is the link:

Kinda creepy now how Josh jokes around about sibling incest here at around 4 minutes in:

Ohhhh that's just sick. My daughter and I just shuddered when we heard that.

http://www.people.com/article/josh-duggar-molestation-accusations-duggars-respond

"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends," Josh, 27, tells PEOPLE in a statement. "I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life."

Josh has resigned from his position at the Family Research Council as a result of the accusations becoming public, but his family has stood behind him.

Part 1: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=26047

Apparently this must have been 'the sin in the camp' JB reffered to years ago.

Personally I am not a bit surprised. This is the result of not interacting with peers, isolation that is. The warped sexual 'morals', repression of feelings, emotions, in short, fundie child rearing!

Figures show that incest in large orthodox Christian families are significantly higher than elsewhere. Dutch figures that is, why would it be any different in the USA.

This. Just this.

Five years ago I told my brother that my dad's second wife was abusive towards me. Thirty years later he was so upset that I am sure he would have hunted her down if he had been in the same state.

My brothers are there for me no matter what. Even as as 46 year old that is an awesome feeling.

We had a similar experience- my husband found out some very unsavory things about a long-term friend, one of the most serious of which involved my husband's (at the time 15-year-old) sister. It had been 25 years, but he still cut off contact with the guy immediately, and is very upset that he didn't know all these years.

In relation to who may have tipped off InTouch:

In the last episode of this season, 'Digging In With The Duggars", I thought Ben's behaviour the whole interview was interesting. He didn't say much, but when Josh and Anna addressed him directly, his response is quite cold, I thought anyway.

I don't know if this will work, but at 1.18.50 thereabouts. Maybe I'm reading into it but I thought it was unusual. I wonder if the spouses knew?

:( Haven't posted in ages, but just coming out of lurkerdom because this seems to be the only place that isn't awash with apologists for a child molester.

What disgusts me most about the whole thing, aside from the abuse itself, is that in that pathetic statement released it's all about how bad it was for Josh, how bad it was for Michelle and JB, no mention whatsoever of how bad it must have been for the girls. All about how Josh, JB and M are doing-0 nothing about how his victims are doing.

But then this is a family that follows religious teachings that advocate that sexual abuse is almost always and entirely the victims fault.

That's really obvious. Also Anna seems to flounder a bit when she speaks to him.

The part that bothers me the most was Anna saying that "mama takes care of the north end, and daddy takes care of the south end." SHE KNEW. And she still gave him, most likely, unsupervised diaper changing time with Mack. I am just at a loss.

I haven't read all 37 pages so I'm not sure if anyone has posted this already, but I have feeling that jb&m didnt tell the other kids this happend but John David somehow found out, and he does work for the police so maybe he found a way to look into the investigation and later informed the media and somehow the media got a copy of the report. I don't think Ben or Derrick have anything to do with this coming out, but if there is anyone who might have something to do with this it's John David.

also, it happened between the early specials of 14 kids and pregnant again and raising 16 children, because Josh was bald in the raising 16 children special, so he probably did go to alert, so michelle also lied about that.

I also don't think that anna and josh are going to move back to arkansas because anna is due in a month, they'll probably wait until m4 is born, like they did with marcus birth.

I'm sorry for my crappy spelling, grammar etc.

He certainly looks irritated. But maybe it is because Josh is acting like a smug know-it-all. However if I were Ben and knew what he did to Jessa I wouldn't want to talk to him either.

I'm surprised JB suggested Josh change diapers since I thought the "formula" spewed by ATI to prevent your creepy child molesting child from molesting more children was to not let them change diapers. How can Anna be so nonchalant about daddy taking care of the south end. I'm mentally vomiting. The camera did not show the reaction of anyone else.

Terrible can't even begin to explain it.

Finally caught up on this. I've been reading FJ on and off for a couple of years but only joined recently after watching the more recent episodes on YouTube and seeing more and more how something didn't sit right with me about the family. I never could have imagined this though.

The police reports read far too clinically for want of a better word and I'm convinced there is far more to this story that we're unlikely to ever find out. I'm hoping against hope that someone has been able to get Jana, Jinger and Joy out of the TTH but I know that's completely improbable

This whole situation is just so sad.

I just wanted to comment how terrible it is that the statement didn’t even mention the girls.

When I was 8 years old I had a similar experience. During the summer I was babysat by my best friend’s mother who as a SAHM. My friend had an older brother who was 14. Sometimes she would make quick trips to the store and leave him in charge. Well, one day he asked if I wanted to trick his sister and hide from her. I thought this sounded like a good idea so I agreed. He took me into the basement and tackled me, and told me we were going to have sex. I remember him touching me all over and kissing me. I screamed at the top of my lungs. Luckily his mom came home and heard me screaming and ran down to help.

Before any of this ever happened my parents talked to me about this sort of thing. They told me I could always tell them and I would never get into to trouble and that it would not be my fault. Even though I was armed with that knowledge, I still felt an incredible amount of shame. I felt so dirty and wrong and thought it was my fault because I thought it would be fun to hide from my best friend.

When my father found out about this, he literally grabbed a shot gun and was planning to kill him. My mom of course stopped him.

I wasn’t allowed to play with that friend anymore, she could come to our house but I was never allowed at hers. To this day I still feel as though I somehow betrayed her and I still feel dirty just thinking about it. It left me with some seriously warped views of sex too. This just happened to me one time and it wasn't even my brother... I feel for those poor girls.

Ben definitely looked pissed off. He didn't even want to look at Josh in that bit. There was no mistaking how he turned his head and avoided the eye contact.

This has now made news in Australia (which to my knowledge doesn't even air 19KAC). It's a small piece in the world news section, hardly headline stuff, but still in the news. I cannot possibly see how the show can continue in its current form. How convenient the supposed season finale was a few days ago :shifty-kitty:

ETA: just watched Ben's reaction in the video linked above. Wow. That was cold.

I honestly think that the family should be investigated by CPS-both Michelle and Jimbob, and Josh and Anna. Michelle and Jimbob knew their son had molested his younger sisters when he was a teenager, and then they let him back into the home to be around them again. They let him babysit their kids, let their kids be alone with him, and he visits their home. The fact that they are parents of a child who molests younger children is also cause for concern, im not saying that either parent was molesting Josh, it could have been another relative or a friend of the family, but when someone does something like this at a young age, they were probably molested as a kid by someone else. Also Gothard is a child molester who generally targets teen girls who were also molested, and they allowed their children around him too. They also spank their kids with a rod, according to the police report. Why the fuck were they not investigated by CPS when it came out???

Josh and Anna need investigating too, to evaluate the risk posed to Josh's own children, and ensure that nothing has happened to Mackynzie. Especially because Anna knows of this, and still married him, then leaves him alone with her kids.

Maybe it would be best if the older daughters still at home went to live with one of their sisters who has already moved out, it cant be helping that they are in the house with the parents who covered it all up and failed to protect them, and filled their heads with lies about how they probably caused it by being immodest in their frumpers. Although they might be too afraid to, because they want to protect their siblings. They should probably take the Duggar kids who are still little kids with them too. I think Michelle and Jimbob are awful, shit parents and I think that the molestation, and a comment about spanking with a rod is not the only awful thing going on in that house, and I wouldn't be surprised if more came out about the hell that was their house-beatings, emotional abuse, neglect...now that the molestation is out in the open, its time for all the other stuff to come out too. I don't really think any of the kids are safe there.

Surely the best thing for the little kids in that house would be for J & M to go elsewhere for a while leaving Jana in charge with Jinger & Joy. Those 3 are currently doing all the parenting anyway (so it wouldn't be more work for them) and that way the kids stay together in the family home. It would be worse for the littles to go stay with Jill/Jessa where they don't have their stuff and knowledge of the house works.

In this situation Anna could see sense and move in with her kids sans Josh.

I'm trying to catch up here (70+ pages read this morning). This is so much worse than anything I could have imagined. I always believed that there was something to the "sin in the camp"-story, but have thought that it was normal teenage behaviour like confessing to having a habit of masturbating, getting caught watching online porn or possibly trying to kiss a girl of the same age, all things are seen as Major Sins in the Duggar camp. But this?

I have a million thoughts right now.

I hope the girls will get councelling and help, possibly from TLC.

I hope that TLC will end this public circus of a phony "happy christian family".

I wonder how the h*ll JB could put his family out there and drag them into the spotlight and fame AFTER all this went down. Did he honestly think that nothing would ever come out, ever ever?

Michelle getting the "Mother of the Year"-award from a pastor who had an affair with the family's nanny for a number of years... "Thank you Michelle, thank you Michelle, thank you Michelle..."

And with this new background information, watching old episodes will be a whole new experience.

I also think that it would be a great help if someone could do a timeline of what happened and when. It took me 50 pages of reading to understand that it probably was staff from Harpo who reported what had happened to the police.

Hey, y'all! It's been a minute since I've popped on but the comments on a Facebook post from the local Arkansas news went STRAIGHT to hell and I thought I'd see what was going on over here.

So, I googled Harold Walker, from the police report. The man who Michelle said Josh went to stay with for 'mentoring'. There's a Harold Walker in A Love That Multiplies, in a story from 2010. At that point, he's the mayor of a town called Camden, Michigan.

It seems like that's more of a coincidence than I'd put money on. From Google Books:

Yeha, I actually found out on Australian news this morning on my way to work just by chance. A lot of people here are aware of the duggars, perhaps not by name, but if you prompted them they would probably know who you are talking about. It's actually been a storm on twitter here in Australia all day and it has been the top headline on a few news sites for 10 hours or so.

Quick Q, was 19KAC taken off netflix before this? I watched it on netflix last year and I can't find it now, but I haven't looked for it since then so I don't know whether it's been taken off as a reaction to what's happened or whether it was already gone. Anyone know?
