Could it be possible that this trip has something to do with the Duggars? I know they go on mission trips a lot and the Maxwells did advertise their book recently. If he was going with a Duggar I bet they would have been told to not publicly announce any location.

My guess is that it's a break for freedom cloaked under a chance to share his irrigation tech skills while under the "protection of good Christians[tm][/tm]." Has anyone else noticed that there's absolutely no Jesusy language on his professional irrigation services website? Makes you wonder what hell he caught for that.

LOL -- no kidding! It should be "Irrigation for Jesus"!!

My money is on ShesCrafty to win the internetz on this one.

Honduras. The flag convinced me.

I hope John uses appropriate caution if he is in Honduras.

Thank you, thank you, though credit goes to ThatSnark, who noticed the jerseys, and Nomoxian, who noticed the flag stickers. It's just a guess. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's in New Mexico, I assume AP Geography wasn't an available subject at the Maxhell School for Those Who Know Where They Are Going When They Die Running Waters Christian Academy (or whatever the hell they call their fake school).

what are they drinking?

I'm guessing it's coffee. I'm hoping it's "coffee". Go John! :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Yep. I commented on that back on page 2 of this thread. I'm glad others have noticed too. :)

The whole website looks very different from the last time I looked at it back in - oh, perhaps October/November '14? Lots of Jesus and God talk have completely disappeared. I also vaguely remember giving helpful hints for improving the site to John in a thread at some point.

Hey, perhaps John has been reading here. :shifty-kitty:

I'm sorry, but the time frame of "two weeks" and the concept of "adjusting to another culture" don't seem to mesh. His time there will be over before he runs out of clean socks.

How old is he, anyway? At 19, my daughter and a girlfriend youth-hosteled their way across Europe for two weeks.

I would totally agree if this was anyone other than a Maxwell. For them, going to the local grocery store alone is probably enough to cause culture shock. Who would shield their delicate eyes from the hardcore porn (AKA Cosmo) on display at the checkout counter??!!

Also, between the solo trip and the less Jesusy website, I'm actually starting to think John is slowly breaking away and Stevehovah is doing a major PR spin. Or maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist.

I mean, we are talking about a man who wouldnt let his children watch a VIDEO of people lighting candles.

What the ??! Do you have more details about this :cray-cray:

I'm honored and humbled to share credit with my co-FreeJ'er, who took the information and ran it across what I hope is the finish line. Or, maybe, kicked it into the goal, considering that we're looking at soccer jerseys here. ;) I really hope we get more pictures to sleuth... this is great fun!

I think my guess is Central America too, just because (as others have noted), he seems to have gotten to his destination pretty quickly. He's also looking fairly perky, like jet lag hasn't been much of an issue.

I feel like the men clearly do not look like they are from Latin america but I guess I could be wrong. It happens sometimes.

Looks like John is having a great time! I’m praying that he has a safe trip. Is Jesse enjoying having his own room for the fortnight?

>>>>>>>>

They enjoy sharing the room.

Of course. Because a grown man wouldn't want to admit to enjoying a room to himself. She didn't even answer the question. Does that mean Jesse doesn't enjoy being alone in the room?

I wish I was as optimistic that John is fleeing the coop, but I have this feeling that is all just going to end up in a book for them to sell.

Ok the new pic, I think the girl is clearly a Hindu. I asked my friend. The kids wear eyeliner to ward off the evil eye. I showed him the guys and he said India, Nepal or Sri Lanka 100%. He's Indian/Hindu

I'm wondering if this trip has already happened and John returned to Leavenworth a couple of weeks ago or, hell, many months ago and they're making it sound like he's there now. It all seems really speedy and tidy. I dunno -- something just seems fishy. But the Maxwells get my paranoia working like no one else.

The little girl pictured on the latest blog post appears to have a mark on her forehead. Can anyone identify what it could be? Or am I just seeing things?

ETA: a word

Wow, that is a weird way of talking. Its like speaking to a robot that cant really converse properly, just pick up on key words in the conversation. Steve and Teri need slapping with a wet fish for doing such a poor job on homeschooling.

No, he probably has to sleep in mommy and daddy's room (sorry, daddy and mommy, because the penis is the most important) because he cant be trusted by himself. Or he cries all night because his brother isn't there with him and he feels lonely.

ITA - she does not look South American to me. The guys don't either to me - they look Indian.

A bindi maybe? One of the men in the "John's friends" post has a bindi as well. According to wikipedia, bindis are worn in South and Southeast Asia. India is very possible, perhaps Goa, which has a large population of Christians relative to the rest of the country and is relatively well off (thinking here of the middle class dress the men are wearing.)

eta: and Bingo! India has anti-proselytizing laws:

{L_MESSAGE_HIDDEN}:
The correct spelling of GiGi's last name is Frazer. Teri's sister's name, according to her public FB page, is Tami Frazer Jassey.

{L_MESSAGE_HIDDEN}:
This is all public information: There is a Frazer Family Living Trust which owns a house at 2412 S. 15th St., Leavenworth. It's in the same subdivision as Christopher's house (and Chris still hasn't added Anna to the title.)

There's a new post up. It's a picture so a little girl. I don't know. I'm feeling like it's somewhere in Asia.

Are the little girl's teeth chiseled? WOuld that narrow it down to Indonesia or place that Indonesians move to work>

"Statistically her future is very bleak".

Welcome to the Real World, Maxwells. Perhaps this helps explain why you asking for prayers for every fricking thing under the sun rubs so many of us the wrong way. If all it takes is prayers, then why don't you ask for prayers for those really in need? Perhaps you now know how detestable it is to us when you constantly claim the Lord blesses your every move. Most of us already knew that life in most parts of the world is hard, and you are not given special treatment just because you claim to be in a close relationship with your Higher Power.

I hope John is doing something of value wherever he is, by providing irrigation services to aid subsistence farmers, or helping to set up a fresh water system where there is none. THAT is the sort of thing good people of every faith do. Staying home behind locked doors reading the Bible twice a day really doesn't do much to help the world.

A lady with a baby on her back was begging when I was in Mumbai, and the baby (about a year old) also held her hand out and begged. Guess they didn't pass the Good Person Test, though, or they wouldn't have found themselves in that situation. Because God is so good...to fundamental Christians, at least.
