I'm bored. Has that little shit been born already?

My sentiments exactly!

For funsies:

Drink: Alcoholic: gin martini. Non-alcoholic: Coffee, or water. I'm boring.

Purses: I love big-ish purses, most of mine could squeeze an A4 notebook (which is important because I carry one everywhere). I have about 10 nice purses I rotate. I don't like spending money on purses but my older female relatives do, so I tend to receive them as gifts. Hang onto the nice ones 5-10y versus maybe 1y max I get out of the crap I drop money on.

Circ: No. My husband is European and horrified at the idea.

Peanut Butter: Never liked it. I like whole peanuts or crushed peanuts as seasoning, but don't like pb and never have.

Chocolate: As dark as possible. Prefer Dutch chocolate because that is what my husband feeds me. Really like chocolate with sea salt a/o cayenne pepper.

Heels: Regular heels, no. High heeled boots, yes, year round, everywhere except the yard and the gym.

Favourite Song/Book/Movie: totally depends on my mood. Songs I tend to like 80s/90s stuff from my misspent youth. Books tend to be very superficial mysteries (still rebelling after spending 4 years reading Very Serious Literature for my degree); movies I loooove Harry Potter, Hunger Games and (whisper) Twilight.

Favourite TV show: Bones, Modern Family, Hell's Kitchen, Masterchef, Chopped, all those competitive cooking shows... at home we only have Netflix/Hulu. Occasionally I go to my mother's and binge-watch Bravo, but can't take too much of that.

Cracker Barrel: Been once, in high school, don't really remember it. Would probably love it so I don't go on purpose because I don't need that in my repertoire. Have no idea where there is one around here but have seen signs for them on road trips.

Shoes in the house: When we lived in a house with wood floors, yes. Now that we have all carpet (which I can't wait to rip out -- our family is too clumsy with beverages and paint!) I take off my shoes in the house but honestly don't care what guests do as long as they aren't muddy or sopping wet.

ETA: Porn star name - Trixie Lady. Not bad!

That is horrible.

Internal scalp monitors should be forbidden and expectant mothers should speak out against it more.

Don't let that be done to your babies!

Internal monitoring has it's down side but gives more accurate information and it should be an option available. If you are really opposed talk to your doctor before hand and make it clear under which circumstances you would be OK with its use, if never that is your right but know the downside. I doubt the baby cares very much, When you are being squeezed through a space smaller than your head a screw in your scalp is probably the least of your worries. The way the baby experiences the pain of childbirth is not clearly understood.

Do you think Jill got induced sometime last night to ensure a Godly Easter baby?

can't someone email someone

Jill is the favored child. I CAN'T believe they would endanger her or the baby. She's prob in labor somehow and they're being quiet about it.

I believe it. I was hoping for him to be born yesterday, now I'm kinda hope he stays in until tomorrow haha.

Also, I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my first and this thread has been giving me a lot of interesting info about childbirth. Thanks ladies! I always like hearing women's personal stories.

These people are sick. They would let her die as a martyr for her child

Aloe, there are a bunch of us here who are fans of The Murdoch Mysteries. There's actually a thread on it on Wordly Distractions. In the US, it's shown on Ovation as The Artful Detective.

Hells yeah - kids about to be born, Jill screams for Derick, but he's out in the backyard digging a bunker, and stocking it with canned beans and guns- "Just prepping for the End Times dear, be there in a minute!"

So yes, I have lost the plot I think....anyway, it's the middle of the afternoon on the 5th here.

I thought preparing for the end times meant you understood you weren't righteous enough. I'm pretty sure they think they're righteous enough.

Is she going for the Guinness book of world records record for the longest pregnancy?

Might be tough--she has to compete with DeDe Haislip's 18 month pregnancy.

Internal monitors are not only more accurate, but they could easily allow for the development of remote monitoring where the mom isn't hooked up to a machine. That would allow the mom to be mobile which is a good thing.

I went away for a few hours to get some last-minute Easter stuff for my daughter. When I left, we were on page 14 of Part 5. I come back and it's up to page 5 of part 6.

BABY DILLY, I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF. LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO US! :pull-hair: :pull-hair:

I had a date yesterday. I cant even bring myself to catch up on the pages I missed in the other thread.

If they decided to make a martyr out of Jill and/or her baby by not intervening when necessary, it would backfire. I hope. People would leave the religion, some of her people might be jailed, the $how would end. I hope.

what if Jill doesn't have a doctor and just has midwifes

a) could that be true

b) isn't that wrong

Something Jill typed on some social media somewhere, which was posted someplace on this thread's 5 gazillion pages, probably in Part 4 or Part 5, indicated she had her hospital backup plan at the ready.

They most certainly would. Just as they would justify any problem from laziness in receiving proper care to God's reasoning. :cray-cray:

Jill is the favored child. I CAN'T believe they would endanger her or the baby. She's prob in labor somehow and they're being quiet about it.

The problem with the poorly trained style of midwife that Jill is/uses is that they don't recognize the danger inherent in childbirth. They've never seen one go poorly, so they assume that they are skilled, when really, they've just been lucky. The total risk to the baby is still small. Risk of stillbirth at 40 weeks is about 2 per 1000. At 42 weeks, it's 7 per thousand. The risk more than tripled in 2 weeks and is increasing exponentially, but statistically, she and Dilly will probably be fine, even if they don't intervene. But someone is the unlucky one, and it's just as likely to be Dilly as anyone else.

Real medical professionals intervene at this point because the reward of natural labor is not large enough to offset the increased risk. At 40 weeks, it's poosible that there is still some benefit to being in utero. At 42 weeks, there is absolutely no benefit other than a philosophical bent on baby coming "in God's timing" or whatever

 What the heck?!?! My water broke first, but I wasn't even dilated to 2 cm, so it was a 17 hour labor WITH 2 doses of pitocin. My mom had her water break first and she only lasted 2 hours before I was born. And you guys are saying it goes fast after the water breaks? So, this is a fact? I think I have the luck of a footless rabbit. :(

No, it doesn't always mean it's fast. My forebag broke on its own at 4am and my midwife needed to break my other bag around 11am to try and get things going since I was stalling. I still didn't have my son until 12:42am the next day. It was a hellish, long, and super painful OP labour.
