Here's one for all those new to Sparkles' world. This one is her self-described postpartum depression experience. It is chilling when you remember that she is half a world away with strangers and somehow has to get herself and the girls home safely again after she delivers the gayby.

Ok she won't be caring for the newborn this time but her hormones won't know that. Plus whatever psychological trauma she faces by delivering a boy on or about what would have been Elijah's birthday and then giving him away.

Am I wrong in thinking she edits posts? I'm not creeped out by the "something bigger" comment because I have this feeling she tweaked several of her posts after Elijah's death... she's such an attention-whore it wouldn't shock me if she changed it to imply a premonition/psychicness.

Am I the only one who thinks that they murdered the dog on purpose? Poison baits don't work like that, in general.

I agree with all the statements about how insane she is. One thing that has bothered me about her lifestyle (aside from absolutely everything.) Is the fact that these girls get no privacy whatsoever. They are going to feel embarrassed someday going to a "friends" house to shower. That's not fair. Also, what about when these girls hit puberty and need to bathe more often or when they hit puberty and these strangers they hang with start to take interest in one of them. I absolutely believe there will be problems when Aicha is older and discovers sexuality. Lauren will ditch her for sure.

I agree, I personally think that they had something to do with it. There was a post before that one that they were looking to re-home Misty Bear, so that doesn't exactly work towards clearing her name.

I didn't think you were being dismissive. I just thought I might not have been clear. I did do a search before, and saw how massive the threads were. I wish I had more time to read it all.

Glad you understood -- I realized that my first post could have been misread to be one of those "READ it yourSELF, SHEESH!" things, which is not the way I roll. :D

Back on topic -- isn't Lauren frightening?

I wish there was more video of her, because I would love to see more of how she behaves and interacts. Her blog and other online text and picture presence is so fake (yes, Lauren, that would be the opposite of authentic), I wonder what she is like when she is being herself -- if there even is such a thing.

My suspicion is that she would be glum and almost flat-affect, unless there was an audience worth impressing. But maybe she is "on" more of the time -- maybe she feels the need to try to present a certain front for the older girls, or even fool herself.

I haven't found a single instance of an edited post, but she does back date things. In a couple of mnths her blog will be full of posts from the Europe trip, all dated appropriately.

Oh, yeah -- I've seen those, and several others, as well. She is often sitting, seeming annoyed at being filmed, not interacting much. Very much in contrast with the persona she seems to want to project.

I guess I'd just like to get the "fly on the wall" perspective for a day or so.

Hopefully before her girls hit puberty, but I'm not optimistic.

I can't shake the thought that in a few years a 13 year old Aisha will develop a crush on a young man that they encounter on their travels and Lauren will write a post about Aisha embracing love and sexuality then drive off into the sunset, leaving Aisha with her boyfriend to figure life out on her own.

I really really hope I'm proved wrong.

I get the feeling it could be sooner than that. As soon as those girls start their periods, they'll be "women," and therefore encouraged to go be all that women can be, in Lauren's mind.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to/created this thread. I wish I had thought to ask a few weeks ago, before I started reading her blog. I ended up spending hours on it, crying at some points, especially about Elijah, and seeing what the girls go through. I guess I'm a major slave to the man, because the whole thing makes me so upset. I stopped and haven't been back to dig, so this is super helpful.

The Duggars/ QF families/ Gothardism/ IBLP/ etc. all make me angry, frustrated, and annoyed at different turns. But Sparkling Adventures is the thing that makes me truly sad.

I get ya. Some of the links posted here have made me cry. I don't think I could handle the whole blog. This whole thing is a tragedy, and it's still going on.

I don't see a problem with this. These days, even bathing suits can be seen as sexual. I got a temporary ban from Facebook for child porn for a picture of my daughter in a bathing suit. Someone looked at that and thought sex.

Or the numerous times Lauren posted their current camping location along with the information that at least one of the girls would be sleeping outside in a tent.

This is what makes the video disturbing. If they were going home where they'd be safe, fine. Who cares about the video? Too many people are too uptight. But this? She's advertising those kids.

Those girls don't know stability, and they aren't educated and they don't have schedules. They're not going to be able to function when they're adults.

Family tax benefits and parenting payments are generous in Australia, especially for a single mother of 4. In the range of $1500 per fortnight. Plus, even though she claims not to receive rent for her home, nobody really believes that. Her home would rent for $300 to $400 per week (rentals in urban australia are expensive) (and that's one of the reasons Parenting Payments are so generous - it's assumed that the recipient will be paying $300 + per week in rent, which doesn't leave that much for everything else. But Lauren doesn't pay rent or bills, just fuel).

Plus she receives donations. It hasn't been uncommon to see comments on the blog or her Facebook asking if she received a donation that the poster sent via PayPal.

Actually I think it's even worse. I don't think that is Lauren, because she says she's not naturally very hairy. She just wants the girls to see lots of hairy women.
