Matt Walsh Needs to be Respected Dammit Because he is a MAN

Want More Babies

GUYS! Matt Walsh wrote a thing that I like (at least, part of it). Sorry if anyone thinks 50 Shades of Grey is a great book...

But I don’t need to read it to know how incredibly, inconceivably idiotic it is.

Today, someone on Facebook quoted a line from the novel:

“Finally, my medulla oblongata recalls its purpose, I breathe.â€

I thought this was a joke, so I looked it up.

Nope. Not a joke. Completely real. That line actually appears in a best selling piece of literature. That line was written by someone masquerading as an author, approved by someone masquerading as an editor, published by someone masquerading as a publisher, and then consumed by millions of people masquerading as literate.

I found some other excerpts that are almost as bad/good:

“That’s the bottom line. I want to be with him. My inner goddess sighs with relief.â€

“Her curiosity oozes through the phone.â€

“My scalp prickles as adrenaline and fury lance through my body, all my worst fears realized.â€

“My inner goddess is beside herself, hopping from foot to foot.â€

This is some very, very stupid material. It reads like a thesaurus procreated with a script from a soft core porn and then the baby fell into a vat of Lifetime Channel DVDs. My inner goddess is rolling her eyes, my inner brain is hurting.

I hope your medulla oblongata recalls its purpose and stops you from seeing this tripe.

The bolded parts made me laugh.

Ok so here is my issue with the blog post...

I am in the middle (end) of a relationship with my partner, a man, and I say things and I think wow that was kind of disrespectful. But then I realize wow...where is his respect for me? He doesn't contribute to the relationship.

Why do I have to continuously be respectful when I'm not being respected and my needs aren't being met.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this post just that these men who try to blame their failure to keep up with their side of the relationship on woman beginning disrespectful really get under my skin!

ETA because I hit the send button to soon.

The thing is women have been disrespected in real life and pop culture way longer than men. So, it bothers me very little that men are now get getting a dose of their own medicine. They deserve it for the disrespect they have shown women for years.

Something that bothers me is when men who respect women are lumped in with "men are just getting a dose." I don't mind at all when the men who are misogynist assholes get dished back what they served first, but I don't like the good men to pay for the sins of the assholes.

Matt Walsh falls in the category of ASSHOLE, and so I bet he does get a lot of disrespect. It's probably in return for what he does.

I hope things look up for you soon. Your situation reminds me of a breakup I went through. He was a disrespectful asshole, and I played the role of the meek, submissive little thing, and was miserable. He took advantage of me. Why should I have continued to treat him like a king when he treated me like a diseased peasant?

Perry Coghlan links to him about a billion times a week, which is really all you need to know about the guy.

i thought of this when the most opinionated and antagonistic friend of mine on FB started telling everyone he knows that they "need" to go hear Matt Walsh speak. um, no thanks... i'd rather not be around a lot of belligerent guys so excited about semi-intelligent non PC wise-cracks they can barely contain it, rocking back and forth in their chairs with gleeful grins, (yes i've seen this happen) and breaking out into random standing ovations. M. Walsh better be ready to hit the deck if he gets them too riled up it's an open carry area and they might bust off a few rounds into the sky if it's outside in the country. yeehaw.
