This Time....you can make a really bad anti-choice video

Brought to you by former "Kansas" lead singer and producer John Elefante we have "This Time", a song created to bring attention to Online for Life (OFL), an educational non-profit working to rescue babies from abortion so they can live to make their mark on the world.

Did you know that a 13 year old seeking an abortion will be held against her will at the clinic and be forced to escape, horror movie style, from the evil clutches of clinic staff?

Thank Zeus, he wasn't in Kansas back when I used to listen to them in the 70s. I'd never be able to listen to "Carry On My Wayward Son" or "Dust in the Wind" again if he had been.

My assistant teacher for the confirmation class I teach wanted to use this video with our seventh graders and have a whole "pro-life" night featuring such emotional propaganda. I told her I felt like we did not have time --the nicest way I could say "oh, hell no". Then the program director basically said "oh, hell no". Being an extremely mature 50-something woman, said assistant then chose to quit all involvement with teaching confirmation. Now I don't have to argue with her about how to teach every week.

I sort of feel like thanking the guy for his dumb song. But I have a feeling this was not exactly the sort of thing he wanted it to accomplish.

So this time God sends a future ghost child to save the young teen from the ebil abortion mill? I guess this girl's baby is God's special snowflake.

WTF.

Also looove that the other lady at the ebil abortion clinic has those fake tattoo sleeves on. Because she's obviously a pro-choice HEATHEN.

WUT. If she's 13, then so is my arse.

Also, this is madness. Nobody holds 13 year olds against their will forcing them to abort babies. If a 13 year old was about to undergo the procedure and was begging for it not to happen and saying they wanted to call their mum, it wouldn't happen. At least here, NHS trusts like being sued as much as anyone likes being sued, which is to say not at all.

Notice as well the Lord couldn't give a flying one about the mum. It's all about the baby who's going to have adorable birthday parties and have her name written in the Book of Life. The mum, presumably, is going to be separated forever from cute munchkin and burn in a lake of fire, but never mind the vessel. It's the contents that are important.

I also want to know if the Lord steps in, complete with ballet dancers, when the mum's going to abort a child who will turn out as a substance abuser with a chaotic lifestyle and a string of children on the at-risk list. Or what he does about said child and said child's children. Does he just love the nice middle-class ones?

The video keeps freezing so I can't watch all of it, is there a part where the singer complains no one will hire him because he loves Jesus so much?

So I've never been in an abortion clinic, but I'm guessing when it's your turn, you aren't escorted back to the exam room like you're going to your own execution by three glum medical professionals. Shit, I'd run away too!

This video makes me irritated. One a 13 year old cannot consent for ANY medical procedure, she is still a CHILD. Second, you have to go through an appointment to explain all the risks and stuff. The staff will make sure you understand and if you ask to talk to someone, they will find someone to help you. Many places have chaplains that will come and discuss it with you (ones that support women's choice of course).

Two things that stood out to me (in addition to what others have said):

1. "She felt a kick." Most abortions happen before the pregnancy is that far along.

2. She's 13. Regardless of how healthy she is or how good her doctor is, that's a high risk pregnancy. Is her life less important than the "life" of a fetus?

That's not true. At least in my state. Persons who are 13 and older ( or possibly it's 12) , can obtain confidential medical services and give their own consent for any medical procedure that involves mental health, sexual health or substance abuse. There is also a particular Medicaid funding for these services, so that minors don't need to use their parents insurance.

In the state where I live there is no bottom age limit on being able to consent to an abortion. Other services have varying age limits with the most common for rape, drug abuse treatment, or mental health issues being 12.

Man, that is offensive.

I tried to stop myself, but I couldn't help picturing how he came up with this mess. I think the ballet dancers were a sign. Or perhaps a hallucination.

vdYPjpl5pI0

I sat down in my living room,

Thought I might float a loan.

Watched my stock tick down, knowing

That my talent was all long-gone.

My head slung low, so embarrassed

Over 50 years old.

I heard “Fight Fire With Fire†as a reminder

Oh a life I used to know.

Then I heard a voice inside say "Go make hay!

With luck you can earn as much as Tim LaHaye!

Then I fell into a light sleep,

Had a dream about a little song

There was a too-young girl and a mother,

And a boyfriend who had done her wrong.

I saw the little girl become more pregnant

After every line I sang.

Then I was suddenly awakened

And I said to myself, “Dang!â€

I said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine.

I still can write lines that don’t quite rhyme.â€

Right then the ballet dancers came

“You’re not dreaming this now! We’re here!

We have come to bring you fame.

Or did you mix ’ludes with beer?â€

And your lines don’t quite need to rhyme.

No, your lines don’t quite need to rhyme."

I put pen to the paper,

I asked “How can I lay the guilt on?

Ooh, some scary nurses and a doctor

And lighting that goes all blue.

Then I’ll sing real loud and weepy,

And make it look like she’s trapped.

I need that angel rescue,

To put the final spin on this crap!â€

I said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine.

I still can write lines that don’t quite rhyme.â€

Right then the ballet dancers came

“You’re not dreaming this now! We’re here!

We have come to bring you fame.

Or did you mix ’ludes with beer?â€

I am squeezing more words in this line.

Perhaps I should just write a book.

I haven’t got the patience to finish up.

Instrumental now -- just look.

Ballet dancers now -- just look.

The birthday party now -- just look.

Just look.

Some cross-shaped candles now -- just look.

Exactly. The little girl is going of course to grow up in a beautiful big house, the pregnant girl's mom is supportive and understanding... I bet this the situation of ALL women seeking an abortion.

https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=253b.03

Link not broken b/c it is to a government site.

MN statues see subd 6d. A minor 16 years of age or older may consent to hospitalization, routine diagnostic evaluation, and emergency or short-term acute care.

At least in my state, you have to be 16 to consent for those things without a court order. It is just how it is. I don't know what other states say about their consent laws.

And I have a bridge I'd like to sell -- goes between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Anybody interested? :angry-banghead:
