Long time lurker, 27yo currently SAHM to my 1yo however pre-kid days I was a white collar professional earning more than my "headship" (he calls me his "wifemeat", he thinks it's funnier than helpmeet and he can't understand my obsession with fundies) so I'm pretty sure that I won't be accepted into any religious groups too soon haha.

I found FJ through FK and TWOP back in the days of the Carrie saga. Really became obsessed with Emily and DNA and also poor Autumn :( I stayed up to watch the Maxwell wedding and think Kristina is a dopey nut job but I've got a bit of a soft spot for her (though I think Josh may be a little... Ahem... "sparkly" if you get my drift)

I've made it my new years resolution to start talking and not just lurking so I hope to get to talk to you all soon!

Hallo! I'm glor, I've been bouncing in and out very very infrequently as a lurker guest and figured I should finally make an account to talk and such. 27y/o super duper liberal woman earning a BA in the hippiest school in the nation -- Evergreen State College. Grew up in a fundie home, the first 13 years were in California and the next eight were in Colorado until I finally broke free. Religious abuse and brainwashing is one of my biggest pet peeves, so it'd naturally follow that I find my way here at some point. Looking forward to getting some serious snark on.

Hello!

I'm a student, dancer, lover of science and languages, female, and procrastinator extraordinaire. Lurker since before the site rapture, but now I've decided to try actually participating in conversations. I grew up in a wide variety of Christian groups, none fundie though. I believed a lot of it at the time, but I'm currently somewhat agnostic.

I first got interested in fundamentalism through the huge-family angle-- as a kid, I was obsessed with books like Cheaper by the Dozen, and then I saw some Duggar specials and was fascinated by how life with THAT many people ran so smoothly (I've since learned better.) The religious intrigue came later, coinciding with a bit of a personal falling-out with organized religion. I'm not sure how I first found out about the abundance of fundie blogs (or Free Jinger), but ever since the discovery, they've been my secret obsession.

I am 35, was raised in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina and am currently living in Arkansas. I am the happy and tired mother of 2. Am currently married to the greatest guy I've ever known. I used to feel so guilty about not being like Michelle Duggar (yeah I bought into the bs until I found this board) until I realized that she had umpteen helpers to help her maintain that damn baby voice so she never lost her temper and raised her voice like sinful me sometimes does . The Duggars are my gateway fundies, but since I've been lurking here I have found the Maxwells, the Emily and Dna trainwreck, and sooooo many others. Really surprised myself by coming out of the woodwork and registering but there are a lot of really great discussions on this board and I got sucked in :D

Hello all, I've been lurking for a while (found you over Xmas break) and decided to join your motley crew.

I'm 54 (OMG) have been married for 33.5 years and have zero children. I got involved in reading some of the websites that you follow after I learned a relative was becoming more and more Dominionist -- and then my bright red state (KS) got even redder last summer after the republican primary. So, it is interesting to read your posts and see that I'm not alone in observing these things.

Hi! New here. I came across this site when googling a family I used to know personally just to see what goofiness was going on with them now (they LOVE the limelight so knew a google search would bring them up). I am a recovered fundie, not exactly sure what i would consider myself now. Still searching for sanity? My family and I were deep into fundamentalist stuff, homeschooled the kiddos, only wore dresses, husband has final say on every decision, you name it. I have the house full of children to prove it! (would never change that, though!) At some point, all those nagging doubts, about my husband and his behavior; and the teaching that were being shoved down my throat by fellow fundies and churches; got to me. Through lots of psych reading and counseling from normal (haha) people, that man is no longer my husband. Freedom is a beautiful thing.

Looking forward to participating here. As a former fundie, it is both weird and amusing to read about people I know personally or have met. And no, I am not anyone internet famous. Was just a typical follower.

Hi everyone,

I have enjoyed this site for several years (since Yoku), mostly lurking because I have not had much to contribute but have greatly enjoyed all the info you found on our favorite fundies. I will try to contribute more since I have had a few sightings of fundies in my locale. I live in Madison, WI and am 46. I am happily married 13 years, no kids (by choice), and my husband and I enjoying exploring our beautiful state. I have been cooking for a living since I was 22 and still employed in my field. I am also a big photography fan, and am laying the groundwork for a retirement career doing photography. Life is good.

I wish we can rescue all those fundie kids and show them the real world is not as bad as their parents have made them believe. I look forward to tell-all books if any of them write one. :)

28 from southern Va, My gateway fundies are my own family. Luckily for me my father was the family troublemaker and by the time he married and I came along his parents had pretty much given up. So while my cousins grew up in a world that forbid popular movies, music and anything beyond 'classic' gender roles I was raised on a solid childhood of monty python, playing in the dirt and questioning everything.

To the bold, does that mean you have that old time religion?

Hi everyone. I've been lurking fundie blogs for years and on this board for about a year. Anna T, Kelly from Generation Cedar, Lady Lydia and Dr. Laura were my gateway fundies.

Starrie

This type of drek happens from time to time, it's just the way of the internet. My concern is simply that the Fundies will use this drama to embolden themselves. See god, jesus took out the evil heathens @ FJ. This sort of drama is exactly what fundies use to make themselves seem more righteous then the rest of the world.

I am a 27, male, small business owner in Omaha, NE. Friends is too strong a word, but I know the Beasley's, Wissmann's, and Grady's. I used to go to their Church (Millard Alliance) but became disenfranchised and left a several years back. I actually heard about this site from them, they monitor it for their own entertainment, and joined to get a different perspective on their activities and those of others like them.

Welcome aboard folks. Funi1 it sounds like you have an interesting and apropos story to tell. Hopefully you'll be willing to tell us just what fundies ike the B's, and W's find entertaining. Is it the gay and lesbian porn? Lewd cupcakes? Or free abortions?

I'm 31 and a female teacher in the Mid-Atlantic region. I'm also a lesbian currently engaged to be married. Been majorly lurking on and off since the Yuku board days. Hope to become more involved once everything settles down.

I'm in my late 20's with a couple kids and a husband. I've been lurking here a long time ! We live in North Dakota, which is a fundie hotbed. A lot of people under the radar. Many of you would actually probably consider me to be fundie-lite, but I enjoy and agree with a lot of the snark that is thrown here, and hope to participate in conversations that I have something to add :)
