I think the Duggars' thrift stores days have been over for a couple of years. The kids have been wearing Aeropostale clothes a lot. For awhile some posters on TWOP thought that maybe the Duggars were finding that stuff in thrift stores. Name brand stuff does end up in thrift stores quite a bit, but there was one episode in which one of the girls was carrying an Aeropostale bag. I remember on TWOP someone pointed out that Michelle had bottle of Bath and Body Works hand santizer. The Duggars seem to be hitting up the mall often. They probably buy the cheapest clothes they can find in the mall.

Last summer, there was an episode in which they celebrated Jackson and Johanna's birthdays. Boob bought Jackson a new bike and Boob made the comment that they do buy new things because used things can require repair. The Duggars haven't really talked about thrift store shopping in awhile. They have probably been buying a lot of new things because they can afford it now. I think the Duggars are still managing their money well. They probably shop for stuff on clearance at malls and they probably would never buy really expensive brands of clothes. Aeropostale isn't extremely expensive.

Think of it this way-- maybe some of the $$ Michelle paid for the shirt helped pay for those Ellen commercials. Yeah, it would just be a drop in the bucket but it's still a Duggar drop in the Ellen bucket.

Random name fun: "Jenesis" was the stage name used by Jenna Jameson when she was a dancer at The Crazy Horse Too strip club, before she went into porn. Now I'm bummed that they'll probably never have the chance to use it without realizing how many people associate it with porn and exotic dancing.

Hahaha, yeah true, I read her autobiography. She got her stage name "Jameson" by looking at her fave brand of whiskey.

Yup, there's Ginger Lynn, Havana Ginger, Ginger Lee, Ginger Blaze... plus there's a whole genre of "ginger porn" (aka red head porn).

I think Amy Duggar's more likely to end up pole dancing than any of her J cousins, but who knows how they might embrace freedom if they leave the lifestyle.

Hello, all! I am new, found this board on a search after watching the "Duggars say goodbye" episode the other day with my husband. Even though he normally takes this show with a large grain of salt, he was very moved and even cried.... meanwhile I kept arguing how fake it all seemed, and went on a quest to find more... and found you guys!

Anyway, I thought I'd start by answering a question from upthread:

The notepad with the list of names was blurred at the top. Maybe it was a logo of an advertisers they didn't want us to see. The address at the bottom was visible and I'll pull it off and see what I can find when i have time time. For some reason I wanna believe that it's an ATI notepad, and they may have wised up since showing Michelle's happy marriage list.

I laugh at the thought of that. Mullet probably doesn't know about Ellen being a spokesperson for JCP. The Duggars have forked over money to companies that support LGBT causes or employees. They have iPhones and Macs. Steve Jobs supported gay rights and Apple treats gay and lesbian employees pretty well. The Duggars took a Disney trip and Disney gives benefits to partners of gay employees.

These eps were filmed I think before Ellen became the spokesperson. But true, they've supported Apple and Disney, and their thoughts on LGBT stuff have been known for years (decades, even).

True the episodes were probably filmed before the Ellen commercials. Now I kind of wonder if the Duggars even know who Ellen is. I think the Duggars are probably unaware of buying certain things from companies that support gay causes and that is kind of funny. The Duggars are out of touch with a lot of pop culture stuff that they probably see pictures of gay celebs on magazines in the grocery store and they don't know it. I think the 40 K Moms are more in touch with pop culture than extreme fundies like the Duggars. The 40 K moms made a huge deal over The Playboy Club, but I don't think they ever knew about one of the female cast members being a bisexual.

She has been shown on episodes with family reunion. If you use the "search" feature on freejinger you will see it's accepted fact. I remember even googling her full name, and one of the google hits was bc she had signed an online petition to bring some flavor of candy back, and her partner had also signed too. I was able to verify what I read on FJ from other users by just using google. You might try the same? I'm not going to do anyone's googling for them if it's easily available information.
