Theonomy mom "breaks will" of 16 month old

Recommended Posts

One quick google search turned my stomach further. As of last April, she was 30 weeks pregnant with #4. She could easily be pregnant with abused child #5 now

posting again because I am still mad.

Yay, Leah, you just defeated a baby! Beat her down to an unrecognizable shell of herself! Clearly 'don't be a mean bully' and 'pick on someone your own size' are not virtues taught in your household.

And the BABY is the sinful one?

I am the parent of one of the most stubborn children on the planet and never, ever, did I think I needed to break her will. My entire goal was to discipline her without breaking her will. Normal parents want their daughter to grow up with good self esteem and a strong will so that she can stand up for herself.

These are people are backward and freaking scary. . . an inherently evil 16 month old? I can't imagine how someone can look at a sweet little toddler and think that.

This is one of the most disturbing accounts of xtian discipline I've ever heard. WTF leave the kid to scream in a high chair for two hours intermittently beating her because all she wants is a drink?

sitting in the high chair for 2 hours sounds like something the Pearls would endorse. In one of their books, a 2 year old did not want to get into her car sear, so Michael and Debi suggested whipping the child, bringing the car seat in the house and strapping the child in in for 2-3 hours.

If that doesn't teach a child how to love getting in a car seat, I don't know what does.

Another recommendation: an 11 month old was not hungry at breakfast and refused to eat a jar of squash. Since she did not have the voacabulary to say "No thank you mommy dearest, I am not hungry' she pushed the jar away-not off the highchair. Anyway, Debi observed the mommy attempting to feed the baby and was pleased the mommy took a switch and hit the baby, then removed the food and did not feed the child for several hours.

This is NOT Christian discipline. It is child abuse. I hope she loses her kids until she can learn to discipline herself.

I'm just so fucking mad. No wonder the rest of the world hates U.S. You have a lot of cavemen with backward ideas out in the civilization. These cavemen teach their own children, through violence, to be just as fucked up as themselves.

- Sorry, ignore my rant if America-phobia makes you feel offended.

What do you suppose came next, an exorcism of the demons inside this willful and disobedient baby? My kids are probably very glad I didn't, and I don't believe in 'original sin.'

Sadly, this is true. Though I will concede we do seem to produce more than our fair share of nutjobs. There are some good people here working hard to make it better, though, so don't lose all hope for us yet!

I can assure you there are cultures that are just, if not more abusive and damaging to kids. But often those get the exotic pass. And I am a big fan of cultural relativism and cultural acceptance, but America doesn't have the market on people doing shitty things to their kids because of some fucked up, caveman life belief.

Those other cultures, for the most part, don't hold themselves out to be the embodiment of acceptable behaviour for the uncivilized world.

I hate to spoil the America/anti-America debate fun, but I should point out that this mom is Canadian.

Spoilsport.

Also, omg, that poor baby! I just want to hug those kids and give them back to grandma or uncle bob or whoever is available to take care of them in that family. ACTUALLY take care of them.

I'm on board with contacting whatever CPS type entity exists in this woman's region. Anyone know exactly where she is located?

Here's a list of Canadian services. I'd contact them myself, but I have no idea where in Canada she's located.

Their business, Dominion Organics, has a Vancouver telephone and fax number but no physical address listed.

dominionorganics.com/index.php/contact-us/

leahslabyrinth.wordpress.com/about/ (her blog is really despicable by the way).

diapersfordominion.com/p/about-me.html and she is coming out with a book about being a housewife! and a music CD too!

I think I've found their address. They run a whole wack of businesses and I was able to match the phone number to an address. Should I PM it to someone? I don't feel comfortable posting it openly here just in case it's not them.

I don't know what the policy here is about that kind of stuff.

Edit: Yes it's them. I'm still uncomfortable posting it though even though it's all over the web.

I found her in about five minutes. Here's her blog: http://leahslabyrinth.wordpress.com/ She's some kind of 'musician.' https://www.facebook.com/pages/LEAH/306674107005 Total psycho. She's obsessed with Socialism! OMG! [How can she be Canadian? Seriously?] These women make me think of Carrie's mother and her 'dirty pillows.' Gah.

Oh good lord. She calls Nelson Mandela a terrorist! WTF?

Jeez many 16 months old don't even say enough words to say please! be glad that she says it from time to time... argh.

My son is 15 1/2 months old and he cannot say please. I know girls tend to speak earlier, but ffs maybe she had forgotten in her terror how to say it. Or maybe she is just a little baby and does not understand social conventions yet. The lack of awareness of normal development is astounding. God Himself made a 16 month old baby completely unaware of manners and adult expectations.

I dunno, I figure if I can get them socialized and potty trained by kindergarten I am a rock star mom.
