Josh's internet is probably not restricted.

1. I don't know if they have joined ATI as a family (Anna, Josh, kids) if so I would bet it IS filtered. Remember, even tv is not "forbidden"--it's just limited to something like 3 hours a week.

2. Now this discussion is making me wonder if the "no pets" thing isn't about making an idol of a pet, but of learning more about sex. Probably both.

3. My own thought is no one finds Josh funny except his wife (who MUST on camera) and his parents who see him as clever and a chip off the ole' block.

4. Josiaha is NOT into manly stuff like taking a day to cut down a tree or towing cars. My guess is he LIKES education and wants more. Probably likes literature. Jer/Jed? wants to be an artist--and that could be ok. After all a graphic designer or something like that could very easily work at home and earn darned good money (I know two who do) so that may be ok since it involves "skills" as well as talent.

5. Joshiah probably detests his father, is likely ready to puke at the PDA (anyone notice it's been toned down this season?? THANK YOU FOR THAT TLC), would likely prefer a girl with a brain to an automaton mommy/housekeeper and has seen enough of the world to know he's screwed.

6. Grandma--are you watching what's happening at Penn State? Sins of omission--not speaking up????? Maybe it's time you take your little boy in hand and open a super-sized can of woop ass? He may try to keep you out, but Michelle wants the laundry done and she'll win. Your room at the giant Cracker Barrell is always going to be available!

Does someone come to their house and put a "family guard" or something on the internet?!

Josh himself I can not imagine to cut himself off from the internetz.

Gothard has his own internet protection. I don't know if Joshie has it, though.

Isn't this just a basic internet "nanny"service?

I am shocked at how many of our young people have become addicted to Internet pornography without their parents even being aware of it.

It's none of their fucking business once they're over 18. I remember quite the encounter with my mother over that when I was 19  and not yet smart enough to know I would need my own computer in that household.

We know Josh has/had a facebook age where he posted pictures of the kids and chatted with friends. He stopped posting on it several months ago; it's anyone's guess why. He probably couldn't figure out how to make it private as I doubt Internet 101 is found anywhere in the Wisdom Booklets.

Like with all the extra food, Josh is probably a kid in a candy store with the things that were denied to him growing up in such a restrictive environment with zero privacy. He's may not be denying himself much of anything these days which could be part of the reason for his exhausted, bloated, and generally unhealthy appearance. Reason number 611 to feel sorry for Anna.

Some Amish and Mennonite groups have an interesting way of dealing with this called Rumspringa. When the kids are around 16 - 18 they are allowed to leave home, join the "English", work with technology, drive cars and even experiment with sex and alcohol. When they return home - and most do - what happened during this time is not held against them. It's considered a way getting modern culture out of their systems to make them less curious about it.

Looking at those pics again.....Jim Bob is NOT HAPPY. He is NOT a happy camper in the slightest.

Whoever said that he is a nice guy is wrong.

I was just looking at those pictures again, and they get creepier every time.

After JB drags Josiah back, next snapshot he's missing again, and when he shows up he's put his mother between him and JB, and is standing next to his grandma who's glaring at the Boob. How old is Josiah, and he still needed to have another adult between him and JB to feel safe. It's an obvious abuse dynamic.

Also, watch Hannie (? -- the older girl in the pink dress). She's shocked then she has her arms folded the whole time, then after the "Third Snapshot" JUterus is in her face talking to her, and she still doesn't smile like she's supposed to. She's not buying it.

When she asks " do you want a little brother or sister again" Joy actually grins and nods.

is that smile real? 3:13 on youtube.

It looked fake to me. The whole time she doesn't look happy, but knows she has to put on a good face in the public eye, so she smiles here and there. I dunno, her smile is similar to Jinger's... she'll nod and smile here and there, but they're probably thinking "yeah right!".

I love how Jed is sitting at the end the whole time, not smiling or anything, even if the ones next to him are. He looks so bored/unhappy.

Josh's profile is now private https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1186764719

Looks like he finally figured it out. I love how the only public part is the link to their website, to show you just how awesome they are and how much they need their own show, stat.

Will they reply this weeks program next week? I want to watch and see the whole announcement thing and see if they try and edit it to make it less obvious Josiah is upset.

He must have made it public again, because I can still see it.

Looks like People's in on the announcement deal once again:

http://www.people.com/people/article/0, ... 49,00.html

Apparently Michelle's 3 and a half months along, and will have a scheduled c-section.

[Edit] What's Josh saying at the end of the clip? "Momma's not the only one that has an announcement" - am I totally jumping the gun or is he implying Anna is pregnant again too?

I thought I heard him say something like that as well and then Anna looked right up at him with a very happy smile. She may have made some comment; like "you never know".

The older boys in the back row look pretty unenthused, too, by this "big announcement".

It was already edited to minimize the possibility of anyone figuring out what happened with Josiah. They went to still photos right at the time he left, so you don't see him actually leave. He's just suddenly gone. I missed it the first time, but went back and watched more closely because I thought what they did with the stills was odd and I did notice many of them looking away from both Michelle and the camera, presumably in the direction of wherever Josiah ducked off to.

If they cut anything (after reading these sites) it will probably be Jana calling out to him. Others did as well, but you can hear her loud and clear.

We've seen "flashes" of this before and he has made the point about having to control his temper. Josiah was a target in one show when he got off the bus (I think) with a wet camera bag--granted most parents would be pissed if a kid was careless with an expesive camera--especially one old enough to know better. Still, the image of Jim-Bob has stayed with me. The other time was when one of the little guys was dancing to some music from a toy at the baby store.

Michelle, too, apparently has a mom's aversion to screaching and screaming from kids--that's why they've taught the toddlers baby sign language so they don't get frustrated and screach and scream.

If nothing else, this whole incident with Josiah has answered (in part) a question posed here (and elsewhere) many times:

What happens if a Duggar child decides he/she doesn't really want to follow the lifestyle?

I guess we can see now that any form of rebellion is simply not an option.

Jim Bob looked scary. He may put on the goofy, slightly dim-witted good ole boy persona for the cameras, but there certainly appears to be a darker, "I am the patriarch, and you will obey me" thing going on in private.

Did JB give Josiah a really dirty look or something with the camera bag?

You know how someone talks when they are on the verge of throwing a huge tantrum? He sounded like that with the camera bag (and the whole thing sounded like someone didn't pack the juice properly, rather than Josiah being careless with the bag).

Yes, what happened with the camera bag incident? Does anyone remember what episode that was from?

So, which Duggar kids would you all say looked genuinely happy about the announcement? I think that Jana looked the happiest for Michelle.

I did find it interesting that only the little kids went to Michelle to hug her. The older kids (save for Josiah) stayed where they were. For example, Josh and Anna did not go up to Michelle to congratulate her.

I think that both of the FB pages that were linked could have been Josh's. The one where his profile picture is himself, Anna, and Mack has not been updated recently as there is nothing on there indicating the #20 announcement. Then this newer FB page has a picture of Michael and does have that announcement plus some "Duggar Cars" link or something.

Free Josiah! Sure, some of the Duggar kids seem unhappy at times, but I actually feel like he's being judged or targeted more by the other members of his family.

ETA: I did check out the links on one of Josh's FB pages and on the website for both of Josh's car businesses, it looks like he may have Twitter as well. @joshduggar I don't have Twitter so I cannot verify this.
