That was my first thought. Sure, KC is only a 30-45 minute drive from Leavenworth but that could be too long in a medical emergency.

It looks like John and Chelsy now have a rental house in Leavenworth, just down the road from Maxhell. While it is possible that they moved to KC, it seems more likely that they are still in LW and John is just claiming to be in KC (I would add this a fairly common marketing tactic in metro areas).

Are they renting out the house they own in Leavenworth? Or are you saying they are renting a new house in Leavenworth.

They have a second house that they are renting (in Leavenworth). Looks like purchased last summer, if you go looking through sales and property records.

So they are renting it out to someone else?

Sorry I’m just confused. Maybe explain it to me like I’m a 9 year old 😂

Presumably. It was only on the rental market for about a week, but it was listed as for rent.

Ok. I’m thinking maybe they are doing rental properties as a way to make more money.

I’m sure that Chelsy would need a high-risk Ob/gyn and a cardiologist with a speciality or a lot of experience with high risk pregnant people, and those might be hard to find in Leavenworth.

Yes, but Kansas City is only about a half hour away- and they could reach one side of then city in less time then that. It’s really close enough to go for a doctors appointment. My kids pediatrician is 20 minutes away just because I like them.

They own two houses in Leavenworth, but nothing is coming up in Kansas City in the Wyandotte County search.  Maybe he just put it there because it's facebook and he doesn't want anyone to know his real city/town.  I think one of my kids has Rome Italy listed as his location LOL

I find it interesting that John and Chelsy have decided to blur their house on Google streetview. I know that there are all sorts of privacy concerns about streetview, particularly with private residences. I had a neighbor do this recently, so looked into it. It is easy to request, but Google warns you that you cannot undo it. And it could be perceived as negative by potential buyers in the future.

But for them, I question if it is actually helpful in their case... for a few reasons:

1. all of the pics of their house still remain up on the blog (https://blog.titus2.com/2017/10/20/john-maxwell-the-fourth-maxwell-son-to-purchase-a-house-debt-free/). I suppose it is too late for the blog pictures, since they have no doubt been archived on the internet multiple times. But still. These pictures show the layout and inside of the house, so if I was concerned about privacy, I would have those removed.

2. Chelsy continues to blog and post pictures of themselves online. Both inside their house and outside...

3. if someone, knows their general location, but forgets where exactly it is, having their house blurred makes it easier to actually pinpoint their actual address.

I wonder if the second house might be where Sarah lived after she moved out of the parents' house? Especially if they put it up for rent just as Sarah was moving to El Reno.

That's a good point. Chelsy and therefore I'm assuming John, were supportive of Sarah getting out of Steve and Teri's house. They could have rented her the house as an easy way for Sarah to get the hell out of there so she could start living life as an adult. But maybe it would have been slightly more palatable to Teri and Steve if Sarah wasn't just renting from anyone but rather living in a family member's property.

Sometimes, people who live in a suburb of a larger city will list the larger city as their residence on LinkedIn or other social media, since they are in that metro area.  Not everyone has heard of Leavenworth, but most Americans are familiar with Kansas City.  You can limit yourself in job searches, etc., if you don't include the larger metro area.

When I searching for office jobs I use to say the county that I live in or say a town that most people have heard of & say something like “I live a few towns over”.

I wonder if Sarah had a date at that concert? Branson would be an mighty convenient spot for folks who live in Leavenworth KS and El Reno OK to meet! : )  There is a picture showing the arm of a  guy sitting next to Sarah, and then next to him appears to be John, holding one of the kids.

Except that Chelsy's wedding recap (in the fall of 2022) states that Sarah and Kory "met online earlier in the year" which would indicate that they weren't dating - and actually, hadn't met - when Sarah went to see Branson Strings. I also can't be 100% sure the arm doesn't belong to whoever is holding one of the kids, though if it is the same guy, he's an armrest hog as he's monopolizing both.

I agree. We live in a small town.  But we list in the next big city.

Yep, I live in a small town that is 15 minutes from a small city and 50 minutes from a large city and 2 hours from a huge city. Depending on who I am talking to and their knowledge of the local geography I will say I live near one of the three cities. For example, if I am talking to Americans, I always say I live outside "major city" as I know it is the only place they have ever heard of

I grew up in the biggest city for miles. But it was only like 13,000 people. Everything around it was farm land and state parks for miles. Tons of tiny towns scattered around. And plenty of Amish too. Many people have never even heard of my hometown. So I just say what part of the state I’m from.

When I lived and traveled in Europe 20-30 years ago, plenty of people didn’t know the COUNTRY existed that I am from.
I regularly had to explain it and this became my go-to:

Other side of the globe, between Australia and the South Pole! 😂

We had a cat named Taz because he was wild like the Tasmanian devil on Looney Tunes.

Just had my anatomy scan today. Would it be awful if we revealed the sex of number 2 At silly girl's first birthday party? We have the envelope, I just don't know If we want to open it before or during her party or give it to my sister in law to bake the color into her cake? I don't want to feel like I'm taking attention off of her

Guess I should update again? Frieda (Kiki, we renamed her) is here since the end of February 2021. She came with a bunch of problems, but is the best dog ever and is doing better every day. But we do now know how a dog with ptsd looks like. For real, not joking. If she is triggered during the day, she wakes up screaming at night. Not like dogs dream, but literally screaming. Other than that she went with us on countless trips, loves hiking and even cable cars. She is one heck of a fearless dog in situations who do not remind her of her old life.
My Grandpa passed away last May and I'm still grieving a lot. After sharing a house with my grandparents for over 30 years it is just horrible to lose one of them. Even though it was his decision and he got to go like he wanted. At home, in his bed during the night without doctors. He would have need more care and he did not want more care. So after turning 90 he decided to let go and became weaker and weaker.
In other news my dad stops working for good on April 1st. Retirement time. Keep my Mum and myself in your prayers. We really do not want him at home all the time. Haha!

I don't always make good decisions for myself due to severe depression but I did today actively decide not to do something that might have been detrimental for me and am very proud of myself.

Well, this is weird. At some point, recently, I broke my wrist. I had to get a Dexa-scan today (put it off for years) and along with some bone loss, damn I had it a few minutes ago… the results said, “Fracture risk is moderate, and the patient has a significant wrist fracture. Treatment is advised.”  my left wrist aches a little but not near as much as my back, feet, knees or fingers, damn RA. I have no idea how it happened. I haven’t fallen in 2 years, haven’t banged or bumped…  the dr will call tomorrow and we’ll get  this straightened out.
