Jed and Katey 2: The Hidden Engagement?

They might have also had the bridesmaid matchy  tween girls filling various minor roles like getting guests to sign the guestbook, helping set out the food, folding the chairs, helping wrangle little kids —-  just being general helpers. That’s pretty common in weddings I’ve been to. 

Couple things that are interesting to me in their choices of what family to include —

-the pick of Josh’s kids as flower girl/ring bearer and whatever Kenzie is. Are Jed and Josh particularly close? I know Jinger was his official big buddy, but they are only 4? years apart - maybe Josh was in charge of him? Or  did Jed become a kind of mentor to Josh’s kids when he was in Jesus jail? Or maybe just because? 

- Austin in everything makes sense - as noted above he’s basically an honorary Duggar, and love the description of Joy as “Girl Howler turned Christian Mom” very apt. He also seems easy going and probably works on lots of projects with the brothers. And he  owns lots of really useful big equipment, so he’s probably asked to help out a lot. 

— It’s interesting the Hannie and Jenny are close in age, but Hannie has been a bridesmaid in virtually every wedding since she was 10, and I think Jenny has been in 1? And usually isn’t in the semi-involved category like all the other matching girls. Unless I’ve missed it. Hopefully it’s just because she’s an introvert and they don’t force her.

@Mama Mia I’ve thought that about Jenni too; she seems to be forgotten about a lot. Hannie gets lumped in with the older girls, Jordyn and Josie are grouped together and poor Jenni gets left out. She and Jordyn are starting to have similar features which fascinates me. Hannie is looking so much like her older sisters lately, Josie looks like herself and other than the blonde vs brown hair, Jenni and Jordyn are starting to look the same. Genes are weird! 
I barely recognized Meredith; she’s losing her toddler look.

I'm guessing Josh's kids were given the roles because they're of the right age to do it. They're still very much cute kids (where Mackynzie's starting to veer into pre-teen territory and probably doesn't want to be lumped in with a six year old), and they're old enough to be able to stand there the whole time without having a tantrum. The next eldest girl is Felicity, who was in the wedding too but still needed a parent with her, and the next eldest boy would be Israel (who I doubt would even know Jed all that well) or Spurgeon or Henry (neither of whom were even spotted at the wedding). After that, all the boys are getting a bit too young. I think as the kids get older, we'll see different GrandDuggars in the weddings and the older M-kids will get to take a break.

Jenny has always seemed shyer than the other younger girls. Hopefully she’s not so much left-out - as just really prefers not to be the center of public attention (although that would mean the Duggar’s would need to respect her individuality…soooo…) 

When they’d do those talking heads on the show she was certainly the quietest. She’s a kid who will probably really benefit from being out of the spotlight.

I didn't see them either.  I thought it was unusual.  It seems like they would at least be in the background somewhere in the video.

Janas best friend Laura commented on their post thanking for letting her be part of their day. Where Laura is Jana normally is too. Lol

I had to go back and check the family photo. They are not there. I can't imagine them being there and not be included in the line-up, so they were definitely missing. Very strange.

That is strange. This was the wedding in Arkansas, right? Unless it was the day of Ben’s pastor school graduation - I can’t see why Jessa et al would be missing. Even if one or two of them were sick, or had a minor injury or Jessa was having pregnancy problems —- seems like the rest could have gone? unless Jessa and Ben were both sick. 
Cant think why with Jana, unless she was off seeing the boyfriend, or sick. 
But certainly weird for both Jessa/Family and Jana to be missing.

Calling all FJ sleuths to figure this one out. I thought I was just missing seeing some photos they were in. It seems odd they would miss it as they do seem to make time to go to sibling's weddings.

So I looked at it again and I think I found Joy (maybe, it looks like her but it's fairly far away), found Josh (?) and found Jessa. Josh was sitting with his kids, I think, plus Austin's dad, Joy *may* have been taking pics from the side, and Jessa appears to have been inside the building maybe avoiding the sun, since she's standing there when Jed and Katey recess into the building. Logically Jana may have been somewhere in the background doing stuff as well, but I didn't find her anywhere.

While the video just came out, the wedding was on April 3 and Josh wasn't arrested until April 29. So while the family (and Josh himself) already knew he was sketchy scum, he hadn't been charged with a crime at the time of the wedding. There are a lot of things they can be fairly accused of, but allowing a formally-charged-with-a-crime Josh to attend a family wedding is not (as yet) one of them.

And even if it was, it’s not like Jed has much of a choice. I’m guessing the “forgive your brother like the Lord forgives you” is HEAVILY touted in the Duggar home.

The Wallers are friends with the Nakatsus- they would stay with them whenever they were in Phoenix, going off the family blog.

I see Loren, Stephen, Hannah, and Elizabeth Wissmann in the picture. No surprise there since we know they are seeing each other. I also see the Ballingers and the Wallers.

Actually I noticed that Stephen is constantly (as in every time he is in frame, this is in the full ceremony video) looking at the other side of the room, even when no one else is. when Jed and Katy are exiting, he is looking in that direction but looking past them. So I wondered if she was over there, perhaps near the back out of camera frame?

See how Stephen is staring past Jed and Katey? He was doing that in the procession too

Every time I could find Stephen, he seemed to be looking in that direction.
