Suckerberg is at it again.

The clandestine campaign, dubbed “Project Amplify,” marked the first time Facebook used its News Feed, the platform’s most popular feature, to boost its own public reputation.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg approved the project in August, but other Facebook officials were shocked when the idea was proposed at a January meeting, sources told the New York Times.

Facebook has tested the initiative in three U.S. cities, according to the newspaper, using a system called Quick Promotes that pushed stories with headlines like “Facebook’s Latest Innovations for 2021” and detailed how the platform was pursuing renewable energy for its operations in News Feed posts that featured Facebook’s logo.

It’s unclear to what extent Facebook pushed Project Amplify and for how long, or how many users saw posts as part of the effort on their News Feeds.

Mark Zuckerberg’s personal wealth has fallen by more than $6 billion in a few hours, knocking him down a notch on the list of the world’s richest people, after a whistleblower came forward and outages took Facebook Inc.’s flagship products offline.

A selloff sent the social-media giant’s stock plummeting 4.9% on Monday, adding to a drop of about 15% since mid-September.

The stock slide on Monday sent Zuckerberg’s worth down to $121.6 billion, dropping him below Bill Gates to No. 5 on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He’s down from almost $140 billion in a matter of weeks, according to the index.

Jesus Fuckerberg maybe people wouldn't think you and your company are the spawn of Satan if you didn't do shit like this

In the wake of a whistleblower coming forward with allegations against the company, Facebook made an effort to "muddy the waters" in Congress and "divide lawmakers," according to a new report in The Wall Street Journal.

The report details Facebook's response to a whistleblower, former employee Frances Haugen, who came forward in October to allege the company prioritizes profits over user safety. Among the claims included in a series of reports based on the documents Haugen provided was the allegation that Facebook, which has since been renamed Meta, is aware that Instagram is "toxic" for many young users.

After Haugen's claims emerged, Facebook's Washington team alleged to Republican lawmakers and advocacy groups that Haugen "was trying to help Democrats," while the company's lobbyists told Democratic staffers that Republicans "were focused on the company's decision to ban expressions of support for Kyle Rittenhouse," The Wall Street Journal reports. The company's goal, the Journal writes, was to "muddy the waters, divide lawmakers along partisan lines and forestall a cross-party alliance" against Facebook in Congress.

Facebook received scrutiny from Republican and Democratic lawmakers after the whistleblower revelations emerged, with multiple hearings since being held on Capitol Hill. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), for example, alleged the whistleblower documents showed Facebook "knew" its platform "promotes extremism and hurts our communities." A recent congressional hearing in December, though, suggested Haugen's "credibility with Republican lawmakers may be starting to wear thin," Politico wrote.

Classic Fuckerberg

Quote

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told staff in a QA session on Thursday that he plans on turning up the heat on performance goals as the company's growth slows, Reuters reported on Friday, citing an audio recording of the meeting.

"If I had to bet, I'd say that this might be one of the worst downturns that we've seen in recent history," Zuckerberg told staff, according to Reuters.

Meta has already started tightening its purse strings. Facebook, a subsidiary of Meta, told employees in a memo in May that it was pausing hiring because of slower revenue growth than anticipated.

Zuckerberg reportedly told staff on Thursday that the company would bring in more aggressive targets with the aim of losing employees who cannot meet them.

More like he wants to get rid of employees who aren't willing to work themselves to death and want to have a goddamn work, life balance.  I despise him, Elon, and all the other rich douche cannons.

Even Fuckerberg’s own robots don’t like him all that much

Quote

Meta unveiled its most advanced AI chatbot to date on Friday, and any US adult can talk with it.

But it seems the chatbot, BlenderBot 3, has some conflicting opinions on Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Its reply? "No strong feelings. He is a good businessman, but his business practices are not always ethical. It is funny that he has all this money and still wears the same clothes!"

When another user asked a similar question, the chatbot said, "I don't like him very much. He is a bad person. You?" before rattling off information about Zuckerberg from his Wikipedia page.

I wish Fuckerberg's algorithm would select said Fuckerberg for laying off.

Quote

Meta reportedly chose 60 contractors to be laid layoff ... using an algorithm.

According to Business Insider, the contractors were employed by Meta through the Austin, Texas office of Accenture, which has a half billion dollar deal with the tech company to provide workers in content moderation and business-integrity services.

On Tuesday (16 August), the workers were notified of their layoff via a video conference call which said they would be out of work starting on 2 September with pay terminating on 3 October.

According to a management expert Suckerberg has three traits of bad bosses.

Quote

The best bosses in business today can move mountains thanks to their authenticity and character—the worst are motivated chiefly by the need to feed their own egos.

In his book True North: Leading Authentically in Today’s Workplace, Emerging Leader Edition, Harvard Business School fellow Bill George sets out the five archetypal executives exemplifying these damaging traits.

The key to a thriving business staffed with a motivated, productive workforce is to avoid promoting imposters, rationalizers, glory seekers, loners, or shooting stars.

And Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg apparently doesn’t just exhibit the traits of one: His leadership combines elements of no less than three.

Bottom line George said Zuck is a rationalizing, glory seeking loner.

I wonder if Zuck will complain to Donnie about being called out as a bad boss at their next White House meeting?
