I bet he was out in public and some woman with a low cut shirt asked for directions or something simple and polite, and this idiot thought she was hitting on him.

Lol. This was definitely it. I am surprised he knows the term "man eater". That seems rather worldly. I've never looked at Derrick's twitter till now... Wow.

Also, I just found Derrick's linkedin. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi and Kappa Kappa Psi. Are those real frats?

Watch out for maneaters, everyone. Those pesky women are always after ignorant dudes that look methed out.

Nope. Both National Honor Society type organizations. One for business and one for band.

I was in my respective organizations for my major and both had dues, one had meetings, all coed, nothing "frat" about them. No parties, limited socializing events/meetings. Look good on resumes but that's about it.

If it was the same person who does the duggar girls braces he is totally screwed. I say this because it has bothered me for years how bad their orthodontist is. Well actually not just theirs a whole shit ton of them these days. They don't fix the kids bites, line up mid lines etc. That is why you see so many people with straight teeth, but watch when they talk or eat and how their jaws jut out. Also now a days many people still have brace mouth long after the braces come off. I think it boils down to people wanting  to get the teeth straightened in as little  time as possible and also they are being put on children much younger now. So you basically get the straight teeth,  but none of the corrections.

I wore braces for 4 years and I am thankful I had an awesome orthodontist and oral surgeon.  No matter how good Dericks surgeon was if the orthodontist just quick fixing. He could end up with straight teeth, but crooked face. Since he has been gone so much since having the surgery how on earth is he getting regular ortho checkups? With something as major as he had done you would think he would be making sure he is following up, but I am guessing his missionary work is much more important.

With the duggars they would totally buy used and save the difference if they could at the orthodontist lol.

I knew there was something off about the girls' faces when they spoke, especially Jessa and Joy's. It's like they have to jut out their bottom jaws in order to speak properly or have their teeth line up. I knew another girl in high school who got stuck in braces for twice the amount of time she should have (a total of four years, ages 10-14) because her orthodontist got to the end of her initial treatment straightening her teeth before he realized he'd screwed up her bite.

Looking at Cathy's recent tweets, I see where Derick gets his benevolently offensive, holier than thou statuses.

My God, did she really equate America to Jerusalem? (and the very complicated Palestine/Israel confict )

Cathy's Twitter is so gross. The BLM thing she retweeted has people on it calling our president the N word and writing all kinds of vile shit. So Christ-like to associate yourself with scum like that!

I'm always amazed at how being Christ-like only applies to the way these people treat others exactly like them.

And even worse:

In one of my social work classes we spent a day with a disability. My partner and I used a wheelchair. Interesting to see how we were treated. Sometimes I was ignored completely, like i couldn't order from a menu by myself, other times I was talked to like a child. Then there was the practicality of getting on and off buses, etc.

An eye opening experience.

I was in a wheelchair for almost 2 years due to an SCI, was never supposed to walk again and have had flare ups since. This. I got so many backhanded compliments by people saying how they could never get out of bed if they were in my place. Umm my life isn't worth living... thanks?

Out of curiosity, if a woman took one of those blood tests to determine one of those genetic things like Down syndrome, and the test is positive, does the doctor typically give you the option to terminate?

Since it's a screening test, a woman in that scenario should be advised to get an CVS or amniocentesis, which are diagnostic and tell for sure if there's a problem, before making the decision to terminate. The NIPT blood tests are much more accurate than the traditional ultrasound + blood panel but are still only screening tests and have many false positives.

AFAIK if a diagnostic test confirms that there's an abnormality, a doctor would give the woman information to make her own decision regarding whether to terminate or not.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if some docs are morally opposed or will most do it? I'm just curious. My sister has Down syndrome and I remember asking my mom if she knew beforehand and I think they found out at some point but def not in the beginning of the pregnancy. This was in 1990

It's what he SHOULD have hashtagged in his stupid tweet. He's blaming defrauding women for the problems of men, rather than men taking responsibility for their own dicks.

I'm wondering if his crazy defrauding maneater tweets are passive aggressive responses to Susanna Keller? Looks like she just got engaged.

I live with an invisible disability that causes chronic pain. I get that comment a lot too and it really bugs me. When you don't have a choice, of course you do your best to manage the challenges that your body and society throw at you. When someone says 'I don't know how you do it, I would just like in bed', I think, 'that's because I don't have a choice'. I don't really have the option to give up and lie in bed, like a melodrama. I don't want to give up on living, and my life isn't worth less just because of all the challenges I face. Definitely do NOT ever say that to someone with a chronic illness or disability, even as a compliment on their strength to overcome. Say something like 'I really admire how you do x, it shows a lot of strength (or other attribute" or "I can't imagine what it's like but I think it shows a lot of (characteristic) the way you take on x challenge".

I have always found it really funny how in all these cultures where men are supposed to be the strong ones they are uncapable of controlling themselves ...

But this might just be me thinking logically again. Need to stop that. :my_rolleyes:

To do the diagnostic testing people have to see a specialist (for us just to do the traditional 12-week scan + blood panel screening I would have had to go to maternal-fetal medicine, which was an advantage of choosing NIPT for us since the MFM office was over an hour away), and I can't imagine a doctor would go in to that specialty if they were that opposed to abortions.

As a Jew I'm also offended. I'm also just so unnerved by the weird religion-boner fundies seem to have for Jews. Go away, guys. Also, telling Israel that they can't keep breaking their own treaties and flagrantly violating human rights is not "shunning" them. It's telling them that if they want to be a stable, modern democracy, they better start acting like one.
