The girl on the right is Ashley Salyer, and on the left is her sister Anastasia. Ashley is probably Nathan's "special friend", and it seems that the courtship will be anounced on the season finale of BUB. She's from ATI, but lives at Bronx, her mother is a dominican who runs a daycare, and now we know that she is into Downton Abbey. It will be interesting how things will work to this couple, if they're really together (and I believe they are!)

Ashley and her family definitely seem more lax than a lot of the people we're used to, so Downton Abbey doesn't seem out of line for them.

Plus, it can't be bad, because IT'S PRO LIFE~~~~

They could - if the show hadn't just ended. Sgr could always buy it on DVD and binge watch it again though.

Lady Edith may have chosen to have her baby, but she did consider abortion even though it was illegal in Britain at that time.  Frankly her life since Marigold was born has been difficult.  She tried to give the baby up for adoption and that didn't work and neither did placing Marigold with the Downton Abbey's pig farmer's family.  At least, the Marquess and Marchioness of Hexum should be well able to afford any psychotherapy that Marigold might need as she grows up.

Hmm, I thought Edith's storyline regarding her pregnancy was rather pro-choice. She may have chosen to have the baby, but it did not seem like the show was condemning abortion.

If anything, it showed how difficult the decision is for women and how awful the options could be for a woman who became pregnant out of wedlock, regardless of social status. Remember the maid who got pregnant by the officer and then had to turn to prostitution to care for her kid? Yikes.

Yeah, seems like the show was all about how good it is for women to have choices.

It occurs to me that the upcoming Big Sandy Family Camp, which starts April 19, is when we should look for a lot of Gothard fundy movement. If Robert n' Kendalyn, or Brandon n' Michael, need to relocate to Big Sandy, why not do it around family camp time, when you can recuit an infinite number of brothers/brothers in laws/friends to help you move/unpack/renovate? Perhaps there will even be a Josh Duggar sighting!

I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here. This is Bates interview from 2011.Note it says the kids were given choice for their own room but declined. FUnny the Duggar kids said the same.And they also have intercoms and security cameras.

Erin has posted that she is due August 30th, but will get induced early. I thought she was farther along than that since they have released the sex of the baby. Factoring in when these video's were shot, she couldn't have been more than 13 weeks along when she found out. I thought you normally couldn't tell until at least 16-18 weeks? I may be wrong.

There are tests that Erin may have needed and one side benefit is finding out the sex of the fetus if one wants to know.

Thank you for the notice. I would never want anyone to write legitimate fan fiction because things could get weird. Let's not forget twilight turned into 50 shades of grey. I was just being facetious. I thought the post actually was legitimate. I don't also believe Jessa would do playboy. I agree with the sorority life.

"Sex"..... You have to use gender. God forbid one of the children hear you say sex. This may lead to desires that cannot be fulfilled. Where are the safeguards here?

I can't find the exact quote but GIl posted something about how some missionaries were afraid of cannibal and they shouldn't be becasue God is working on the cannibals who are waiting for their saviors or some non sense.

I did find this quote from a Bates blog post in 2011:

Note nothing is mentioned about how they helped any of them except preaching. No matter with the Bates seem to allow, they still serve the same purpose and only comfortable in their own little bubble with like- minded minions.

Could someone tell Dipshit Salyer that she "chose life" because it was either have the baby or shove some unsterilized metal crap up your hoo-ha and hope you don't die of internal bleeding or sepsis?

There is a (reasonably expensive) blood test you can do at 10 weeks, which looks for genetic issues, but also reveals XX/XY status. Usually you can tell on an ultrasound around 14 weeks.

To he historically accurate, it was usually women of Edith's station who had safe abortions back in those days. It wasn't that most doctors didn't know how to perform them or were morally against them, they just wanted tons of money to take a risk like that. It is kind of like when people who are anti-abortion point to the fact that Poland who has very strict abortion laws don't seem to suffer from it but there are tons of doctors there who provide abortions at the right prize and there is also a possibility to go to other countries in Europe for women who want an abortion.

To me it is really comforting that Alyssa is able to make different chioces. That tells you a lot about their upbringin.  I can not see a Duggar Girl beeing able to do so without major consequences. But most of all the Duggar brainwash is so strong, they would dont even allow themseves to think about thinking different.
