No wonder Jessa didn't do a baby gift grab register thingy, she didn't need to, all of Izzy's hand me downs are available to use, especially with the Dilliards away travelling.

Baby Quincy weighs in big but still doesn't look half the whooper Dilly did at birth.

I hope Jessa is alright though, I know last night I joked about her fixing her hair and face before photos taking but if she is at hospital now hope it's minor or routine thing. Better still perhaps she is simply resting up and recovering after the labour at home. Ambulance story just to add drama\ gossip.

I completely agree.  With all of the solicited gift coupons and the gigantic baby shower, you'd think Jessa would be prepared with a receiving blanket for her baby.  Grabbing a bathroom towel for his first photo, that they know is going to be posted everywhere, is hugely tacky.  And, if they had a towel, why didn't they dry his hair?  Compare to this photo:

You must be fucking kidding me.

Pictures show Bin holding him in front of an open closet.

Grandma Duggar and J-Boob is there but no MEchelle - who is probably pissed that she didn't push him out herself

these people can't shut closests or close doors to bathrooms to take pictures

TMZ has a video of an ambulance at Jessa's house from last night

http://www.tmz.com/2015/11/06/jessa-duggar-birth-baby-emergency-hospital/

now that could be because of TLC

but hope she is ok !!!

Chiming in on the big baby/homebirth question nst posted a few pages back:

I'm not surprised she was able to do it, at all. I've had four babies and never had an epidural (I could say all drug free, except my first was induced and I had a shot of fentanyl). My youngest was born at home two months ago - hands down my best, easiest birth in every way. My mom had five drug free deliveries, three of them were over 9lbs, the largest was born at home. Again, she describes this one as her easiest and best birth.

A well positioned baby and good pushing direction from the midwife will help a woman deliver without significant damage to her lady parts, internal or external. Sometimes things get rough, but like another poster said, position matters a LOT more than size.

Re: ambulance...I hope Jessa is okay. This is why, despite being a big advocate for homebirth (required disclaimer: under normal, healthy circumstances with experienced, properly trained and credentialed birth professionals present), I don't think I'd ever be comfortable with a first baby born at home - you just don't know how it will go, the pelvic outlet hasn't been proven, the mom doesn't know what to expect...I personally wouldn't do it. But I am so glad I had my 4th at home.

They wouldn't have said "both he and Jessa are doing great" if either wasn't actually doing great, right? The Duggars are known liars, but would they lie about something like this?

I hope that the ambulance was just a precautionary thing. Maybe they were worried because of what happened to Jill and had it on standby? I doubt that they would say that they were fine if they weren't. Well...I hope not anyway!

watching the video - there was a firetruck and several large suv's parking on the grass

in the pitch black - I can see a lot :D

It's a Bible quote.

well it 's in bad taste

I'm kinda entertained that less than 24 hours later, they are not trending on FB.  Mount St. Helens is much more interesting anyhow.

As someone who lives in the PNW... yes, a big magma chamber underneath a volcano is far more interesting(/terrifying)!!! :pb_eek: :pb_eek: :pb_eek:

As for the baby, it's a baby. Babies are generally cute. I'll be interested to hear the name. Hopefully she's okay, especially with the TMZ ambulance article...

Yep--

Ephesians 6:4King James Version (KJV)

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

I have no idea if this is the case where they live, but where I am, fire goes for pretty much anything. I'm not sure they'd all be there with lights flashing if it were just a precaution, but I doubt it was anything too serious. I don't think even the Duggars are crazy enough to say, "Jessa's doing well!" if she were really in the hospital in a coma or something.

Anyone remember the ambulance outside of Jill and Derick's house a couple days before she gave birth? Nothing ever came of that...

If there was an ambulance there it could be that Jessa's blood pressure went up.

Family member had a home birth (NOT planned - but it was 50 minutes from the time she woke up until the little one came on the scene - before the grandmother could come stay with the other kids)  The mom's BP shot up and they took her to the hospital until it got controlled.    The hospital did put a cradle in the mom's room so she could have the baby with her - but the baby wasn't considered to be 'hospitalized' since the baby was fine.

From what I know, most ambulances only have EMT's....not that they can't deliver a baby because that training is included...but most times an actual paramedic who can do advanced procedures and administer meds (like the ones they use when the uterus is boggy rather than contracting down) is with the fire dept.  Also, hate to say it but with the level of "famous" they might have been there in case crowd control was needed, it being such a small town and all.

He's a cute baby. I remember when I was going to become an aunt, I was anticipating the news, but I also respected my brother and SIL's decision not to tell anyone until after my niece was born, and my SIL had a chance to rest.

In many areas, fire departments are the ones with ambulances, so when an ambulance is called through 911, you get the fire department responding.

VERY true but staring into the gaping maw of a vagina crowning in labor may be the cause of Bingermin's shell shocked expression in the photos. :ABON:

Very surprised the first pic isn't of jessa holding the baby but of Bens Mom. I really thought they would hold out on pics until Jessa could be seen in perfect hair and makeup holding him! Maybe that pic wasn't supposed to get out!!!

Regardless, cute baby!

i think there is a reason for that.

my personal take: jessica was never supposed to come out and announce it. jessa may now try to say that was planned...all while giving jessica the side eye.

since jessica put it out there, people rushed to put something up to maintain an air of exclusivity.

that picture, while adorable, is not what i would think jessa would really want the first picture of her son going out to be. i mean really? a baby wrapped in a towel? anyone but jessa, she's always seemed to want things *just so* and a baby wrapped in a towel and laid on a bed just screams "we were not prepared". i think people mag was all over their asses, pressuring them for something - anything! - to release, and since jessa wasn't ready for a photo op, they sent what they could get right then.

I can't speak for anyone else, but after having several children, mine is definitely considerably more "stretched out" than it used to be.

Ha -  Yes, TMZ often gets things wrong.  Of course the little guy wasn't born in a hospital; he's wrapped in an effin' towel!   Maybe Jessa went, maybe someone had a heart attack, maybe the camera guy tripped over all the people in the house when the baby was being born.

I never wanted 1,000 people around when I was birthin' my baby ... (and my daughter didn't want me or my husband around, either - just HER husband, the baby's daddy).  I don't quite get that, although, yes, I know:  TLC.

I am happy the baby seems healthy and he is really beautiful, he really is.  I can't be upset with an innocent baby, just with his holier-than-thou parents.

And re: Kate and little Charlotte??  Yes, of course, I walked out of the hospital a mere ten hours after giving birth, holding a baby that looked like Princess Charlotte, with a beautiful yellow dress (all I could think of when I first saw that picture months ago was:  WHAT ABOUT THE BLOOD?  Isn't she wearing a pad the size of a crib mattress under there?  ewwwwwww)

OMG THANK YOU YES. This is such an annoying myth and it's really frustrating to hear women who haven't had kids get fear-porned about myths like this (that and the horrorporn about difficult births). Pelvic floor strength, staying somewhat in shape, doing kegels...your vagina will probably be okay. There are exceptions, of course...but for the most part, no, your vagina generally goes back to it's normal state.

s/ 4 kids, "still got it"

How could the ambulance just be chilling at their house? Don't they have better things to be doing than sitting at their house for no reason?

I totally thought the same thing! So glad I'm not the only weirdo out there. I know how much I was...ahem...expelling 10 hours after my kids, standing up wasn't my favorite thing to do at that point, let alone high heels and pantyhose?! Uh.No.
