The Duggars appear to have been removed from that website. When I click the link, it goes to the homepage. How much were M&JB pulling in?

The link still works for me; it says they get between 10 and 20k.

I realized they weren't showing up when I was on mobile but they are on the desktop version, thanks!

I figured they'd be a bit more than Jill/Jessa but it's not like Michelle and JB know anything those two don't.

They have far more experience in grifting, making money out air, making money out of children, and covering things up then Jill/Jessa.  Those two are still in training for those things.

Shouldn't Anna be looking for a way to make money?

Shouldn't the Duggars be marketing her as well?

Who is supporting Josh's family- he hasn't worked since May and they've added another mouth to feed?

Fantasyland thinking.

I wonder which Duggar "kid" will be the first one to have that light bulb go on...the one that says my parents and Gothard are effing liars and sold us a putrid bill of goods?

I don't know who it will be but I hope it happens soon and has a domino effect!

It wasn't so long ago, even in mainstream (dominant culture) society,  in the U S that a woman with four children could expect help and support from the extended family when the husband left, died, was hospitalized or incarcerated.  Among many working-class Southerners (and, incidentally, blacks and Latinos) it is still the case a lot of times.  With Josh expected to come back and Jim Bob having the resources to provide for them, it would not occur to Anna or to people in her world that she should look for a job.  Down the road, if Josh fails to provide or deserts her, she may be motivated /expected to get work, but for now it would be looked at strangely, as if she is getting out of her proper role.

The Duggars can't "market" her because no one will be interested in her right now unless she decides to trash Josh and the family.  So long as she is "patient wife waiting for the prodigal" she can only remind the public of Josh at a time when the Duggars want him kept in the background.  When(if) Josh returns "reformed and repentant" and ready to bear witness to his being born again in Christ (for the third time--but who is counting), then it will be the time for Anna to go forth and be the supportive helpmeet and then they will "sell" her as the loyal wife who is working on her marriage with her husband.  She may be "marketed" as a speaker with Josh, but not until/unless he returns cured.

Hubby and I were having a snarky convo about the Duggars tonight on the way to the inlaws.  I mentioned how many of us can't believe her uterus hasn't prolapsed.  His response?  That's why she wears those long skirts, it's down to her knees.  He followed that up with "The butterfly now looks like a vampire bat"  I think we are rubbing off on him. lol

I may not want to know the answer to this, but how do we know it hasn't? :my_sick:

Well we don't.  I can't imagine it hasn't but no one has confirmed that.

Sorry Jim Bob will be forever know as Jim Boob or Dim Bob I :output_eeMbjt:   I had to use that one!  I cannot believe anyone thinks jill or jessa are worth that money to be smug or acting like a 12 year old like totally :special-snowflake1:

I'm sorry about the needing of brain bleach but when he said that with me I knew everyone else needed to be exposed to it too.  I didn't want to be the only one who couldn't sleep last night. lol

There were rumors that wouldn't die about her uterus having prolapsed three times, but they seem to have finally died.

I am surprised it hasn't just fallen out. It has to be worn out beyond worn out. I would think a hysterectomy has been suggested but I do not think she would allow it or Dim Bulb would allow it. He is such a perv and takes such joy in talking about making more blessings. What would he have left to talk about? How many couples at their age and circumstances would see a fertility specialist and ask why she hasn't gotten pregnant? What a farce.

I don't know -- the human body is designed to do amazing things. How many women throughout history have had 12-15+ children? Millions, and probably most before medical interventions were possible or helpful.

Honestly though -- do we not ask this about Kelly Bates too? She's had more pregnancies (no twins).

ETA: I agree that JB would never support a hysterectomy, and I don't think Michelle would get one if he did.

I'm surprised her uterus hasn't ruptured between the # of pregnancies, 2 twin gestations and numerous c-sections in the mix.

Kelly has at least publicly said that point of her life is over.  Michelle is still talking like she could be expecting one any day.

Whoops! Sorry, I wasn't clear. I wasn't speaking to whether it was possible for either of them to continue having children -- they're both beyond that, in my opinion -- just the possibility that their respective uteruses aren't the primary issue. I'd give age and the likely onset of menopause that honor.

You're right that Michelle seems to continue hyping the idea of more children, but I think that's for the brand. She knows she's done.

On the subject of Michelle having more kids, I am not sure that she is reconciled to the idea that her baby-making days are over.  It has been too much a part of her core identity, and she really was invested in having that 20th child.  When she says that they are not giving up hope, I don't think it is to keep up the brand.  I think it is because she can't let go of the hope.

I feel for her.  When I approached menopause I was a little sad that I would never again have the option of having a baby.  My kids were practically adults and I had no desire to start over... But I still was a little sad that the option was gone.  How much worse must it be for someone who didn't want to stop having babies!

Yes, she is an obnoxious woman who has emotionally and probably physically abused her kids.  Yes, I think she is more than a little ridiculous.  But she is like an athlete forced to retire from a favorite sport.    I am glad she apparently can't have any more children because she is a terrible parent and has done enough harm.  But I feel sorry for her too.

(Of course, she may be secretly undergoing fertility treatments and the next thing you know there will be a new pregnancy which may or may not make it to term.):my_confused:

I think her uterus just shriveled up and died because it couldn't take it anymore. :kitty-shifty: However, she was so invested in having babies that it's probably quite the hard time for her. I would feel bad for her but...nah!

The average age for menopause is 52 and change of life babies do happen.  I wouldn't write Michelle off for another couple of years.

As to the speaking fees.  That listing is fairly old, I know we have discussed it here before.  Just because they are listed doesn't mean a.) that they have gotten any work or b.) that they won't consider lower fees.  If it was convenient for her and she was in town I could see Jill accepting $2,000 to speak to a group of woman about the joys of being a midwife in Central America.  Or Michelle might speak for a much lower fee to a group of home schoolers about time management or something.  The one person I can see getting $10,000 or more for speaking is Jim Bob.  People will pay big money to entrepreneurs and self-made millionaires as to the "secret" of building up a Real Estate empire or raising 19 kids debt-free.  Of course these days that genre is pretty saturated and he would have some very big competition.

As to why anyone would pay Kim Kardashian $100,000 to speak, speaking engagements don't always mean giving a speech.  Sometimes it means answering questions or just showing up.  I can see a casino or a club wanting to book her for the publicity. Even someone (very wealthy) wanting to make a big splash might invite her to a private party as a way to show off.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe when Jubilee happened, Michelle couldn't take the drugs to induce labor because her uterus was injured (weak? torn?) from Josie's birth so they just sent her home for the miscarriage to happen naturally? Does that sound right? That makes me think her uterus is in very, very poor shape.

NO WAY does anyone spend $10,000 to listen to Jill or Jessa. That's got to be their pipe dream of what they're worth but in reality I guess they'd show up and witter on their usual bullshit for gas money and a salad plate. After all, it's a ministry, y'all.

And in the meantime, the rest of us struggle to pay bills, put off medical procedures, and sometimes, wonder where our next meal will come from...and we never ask for a dime from anyone.

But but Jilly Muffy has a heart for missions!!!!  She must go spread Jesus in Mexico-America!   /end sarcasm

Any other parent would tell Derrick to get his ass working and put Jill in therapy.
