Joshley Madison Pt 8: Are We Still Talking About This?

"The school bills itself as a work-therapy and Bible study program and treats all addiction problems as religious problems."

This just pisses me off. My husband is very strong in his faith but he still suffers from alcoholism. His grandpa was a pastor, his uncle was a pastor, his mom and aunts are teachers and organ players at Christian churches and schools, we try to get to church most weekends and every holiday. His love for God is not the problem, his desire to live a "godly" life is not the problem. There are physical and chemical processes happening within his body that are outside of his control. Addiction is a disease that requires help from trained professionals. You can't just throw a Bible at the problem and expect it to go away. Sorry, had to rant a little bit.

I sure as hell hope they didn't "make" JD fly out in that dangerous weather. If JB and Joshiepoo want to endanger their lives it is their choice but not JD.

Can'tbelieve it if it is true. And we don't know.

Anyway, Josh coulld easily come unglued as he is living a life totally at odds with what he wants. Oh well.

Hmmm I think JB would be more concerned that Josh's lips were getting a bit too loose at rehab.  I don't think JB would care at all about Josh's mental state but more about protecting the family brand.  Maybe Josh was starting to feel good about confessing his sins and JB was afraid what would be the next thing he might divulge.

A source did confirm to ET that Josh was at the Rockford rehab on August 30.  I think he might have had a mental breakdown and that's why they risked that kind of weather to get him out of there.

He never wanted to be there.  He was caught and the family forced him to go.  That schedule at the rehab is worse than what prisoners are required to do.

Plus, the rehab answered a lot of questions about why people leave the program.

The question now is where is Josh today?

In my best fantasy, he left RU and checked into the Sante Center.  It looks like the least expensive of the region's residential addiction treatment centers.  He wouldn't be admitted for residential treatment, though, if he doesn't meet criteria for an addiction disorder.   As far as a "mental breakdown" is concerned, the only thing that's going to get him admitted to a psychiatric hospital is if he's threatening suicide.    They might have taken him to Denton/Dallas/FW for an assessment of his mental status.

I know that's what the article stated.

Where?  It just said news source that I could find which could mean they saw it on the internet.  Which part mentions that it was a reporter in Rockford?

Here's another place it was mentioned:

"Shane Nicholson at the Rock River Times has been able to confirm for us that Josh Duggar is indeed at Reformers Unanimous."

I went searching to see how Shane Nicholson confirmed it. I was pretty curious, as I've never seen it confirmed anywhere else. This is what I found (from his Twitter account @ofvoid):

Wow, talk about in-depth investigative journalism.

The Duggars need Amy to show the world they aren't a bunch of judgemental extremists, but rather that they accept people from all walks of life. Even if there are disagreements between them (and I'm sure there are), I don't think they would cut her off unless she did something beyond the pale, like run off with a woman or something. I also agree that JB isn't reading her tweets, since he's not allowed on the internet without a chaperone.

exactly! How many times did Boob say something to the effect of "but we love her anyway"...I always scoffed at my TV whenever he said something like that. Then there was Blessa and Jill calling her "spunky" or "bubbly" or whatever other cute words they like to call her when they really just mean "inappropriate and we're surprised our daddy lets us hang around her".

Every article citing Shane Nicholson points to this gawker article, which points to Nicholson's twitter account, but no specific tweet*. I haven't been able to find any articles yet at the Rock River Times, for instance.

I WANT TO BELIEVE but there's just not much hard evidence

The only "emergency" i can think of that makes sense in duggardom is that they didnt pay and RU was threatening to kick him to the curb. They couldnt hole up in a hotel because they'd risk being seen, thus the "dangerous" flight back and the prompt deposit of smuggles at another program.  If he was having a "breakdown" or some other non public issue it could have waited until the next day and safer skies.

Excellent gift idea? . . . . .

Hurry! Christmas is coming-the perfect gift!  Your children will thank you-and don't forget they'll be happier due to the loving atmosphere in the home.

They could have holed up at a motel 6. Only one person has to go in & register & you go right to your room. Run out the next morning into the dawn & disappear. No need for dangerous weather. They couldn't be THAT paranoid, could they?

If your children dont thank you, you just beat their ungrateful butts until they do... :pb_eek:

Shane Nicholson is the Managing Editor of that newspaper.  That means he's very well connected there.  He wouldn't allow his name to be used as a source if he didn't have inside, accurate information.  That's the way it works.  But you don't have to believe it.

Do you have some legitimate, reputable source which states exactly where Josh has been for the past three months, backed up by legitimate travel records?  My guess is that you don't.

If they dropped him off there they way it appears that they did, I'd say the answer is unequivocally yes.

Maybe they didn't see a massive headwind as a danger. But in a small plane like that, I would have erred on the side of caution...

That whole flight scenario reminds me of the Bible story of Jonah.  When the storm came upon the boat, the crew blamed it on Jonah who was running away.  So they threw him overboard and the boat had a safe journey.  Maybe that's what happened to Josh!  Someone should file a missing persons report.

I'm starting to wonder if he IS in Illinois, but not at RU. What are the odds he's doing some constant, one-on-one with good ol' Billy Gothard? In the hopes of bringing positive attention and money back to the program?

Gothard is no longer with the organizations he founded.  He got fired because of sexual molestations and now the organization and the board members are being sued by a lot of Gothard's victims.

Oh I'm well aware. I think they're still Gothardites, though, and probably still throwing him support and money.

Nope, I sure don't have any reputable evidence to state where Josh has been; nobody does, except Shane Nicholson, apparently. You may be right about Nicholson's concern for his reputation.

I actually do think Josh is/was at RU, but the fact remains that I haven't seen any confirmation either way.

TIL that if you view enough of an ignored member's posts, FJ takes them off ignore. Feature or bug? ;)

There's no way Josh would be holed up at a Motel 6. There are TV's in the rooms, upon which pornography can be viewed. It would be like leaving a recovering alcoholic alone with a liquor cabinet.
