Joshley Madison Pt 8: Are We Still Talking About This?

Is Josh in "sex addiction rehab"? Who knows.

Is there something happening with real estate transactions? Maybe?

That's it really. No new news.

We've reached the point in the scandal lifecycle where there's nothing new to talk about but people aren't ready to stop talking. This is when things get ugly, with inappropriate speculation and the spinning of worst-case-scenarios. Everything is repetitive and everyone is sensitive. Arguments break out over dumb shit.

It's okay to say nothing if there's nothing new to be said.

It's not okay to wish disease or suicide on someone, even if you really don't like them.

The Backstory:

In addition to being a child molester who victimized his own sisters, golden boy Joshua Duggar had 2 accounts on Ashley Madison, a website whose motto is "Life is Short, Have an Affair." He paid extra for the Affair in 3 Months or Your Money Back! guarantee.

Josh issued a statement admitting to being unfaithful. It has been edited twice since it went up. The first edit removed an awesome reference to Satan's Fortress in Josh's heart. The second edit removed reference to a porn addiction, and some mention of the molestation scandal.

There was an OKCupid account linked to the same email address, but it is now deleted. You can see some screenshots of his answers to various questions here: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=26814

And there's at least one Facebook account in the mix as well.

Daniel Keller (Anna's brother) offered to let Anna and the kids to stay with him if she wants to leave the pig. Anna is being highly pressured to stay in her marriage.

A porn star claims that she banged Josh twice for money, but Josh might have an alibi for the dates in question.

"Are we still talking about this?"

But of course. As long as there are potential bombs out there still waiting to drop, this topic is still open to talk, speculation, etc. :D

Re: Joshley Madison Pt 8: Are We Still Talking About This?

Yes

Until we get answers as to where is and what is going on.

And even then, we'll have to discuss and analyse those answers!

Indeed we are.

Does anyone else think Josh is at Paragould? The plane was there for several hours which would've been enough time for Mommy and Daddy to get Joshie checked in, get a tour of the place, meet with the administrators to discuss Joshie's "treatment", and do some prayin'.

Great title.

We are still talking about "it" in the same way that people waiting for Jessa's baby, or Famy's wedding talk about "it." We are in expectation of something to happen.

The scandal that took Josh to "rehab" is past, but the aftermath is interesting. Where is Josh and what will he do when he reappears? What is happening to his house/property and where are Anna and the kids?

I must say that I don't care if Jessa has a boy, a girl, twins or baby lemurs, and I didn't give a hoot about Famy's wedding (though I have learned a lot about people's prejudices about what other people's weddings should be like--who would have thought that it would be such a big deal that an old middle aged woman guest wore a not-very-festive white dress to a wedding?). But wow, I wonder about Josh and what will happen next in this living soap opera.

TLC must be so sorry that the molestation scandal happened before Ashley Madison! If there had been no molestation scandal, hey could have gone with another season and the ratings would have gone over the roof as the infidelity scandal unfolded.

Personally, my vote is for the baby lemurs. That way they couldn't be blanket trained and raised with the Duggar brand of toxic religious beliefs, and they'd be even cuter than Jessa's real baby.

Have been enjoying early Bloom County cartoons lately (just bought the complete series for Kindle!) This oh-so-charming gentleman is Otis Oracle, Bloom County's Moral Majority leader, but as far as I'm concerned he's every fundie preacher/youth pastor/virginity guru I've ever known. We might as well call him Jim Bob.

Sad that this cartoon was drawn in 1981 and that nothing has changed since.

I mean, I'm still talking about this in the sense that I'm like :nothing: bc there is a lot I'm still curious about, even if it doesn't really matter in the end.

I mean, we probably still haven't heard the end of Joshgate 1.

ETA

And RE- the Josh being the narrator thing. He's not even good at narrating. Granted a lot of the kids probably wouldn't be much better.

I agree with the yawning Happy Atheist. Joshley Madison is boring. Time for a new scandal - as long as it only involves consenting adults and no kids or lemurs.

I see the resemblance!

Somehow I missed this Chicago Tribune article from last week, quoting Bill Gothard on Josh's teenage Arkansas "rehab":

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-j ... story.html

""Founder Bill Gothard said in an interview with the Tribune that the institute also operated the Little Rock, Ark., facility where the Duggars' eldest son, Josh, went as a teenager after admitting that he sexually abused his younger sisters.

"They did the right things. They did maybe even more than was expected," said Gothard, 80, of LaGrange. "They certainly cannot be faulted in what they tried to do to correct the problem. The problem was corrected. … The fact that he became an outstanding young man would indicate that kind of success.""

So, I think I finally found a reason to use this smiley: :nothing:

In any event, my congratulations to you, Happy Atheist, on another great thread title. In all honesty, I've been more entertained by the Joshley Madison thread titles than the conversations themselves!

Doesn't quite work as well as the original sans the "because," but you'll get the idea:

This is the topic that never ends

Yes it goes on and on my friends.

Josh Duggar got on the internet just looking for a fling

And we'll continue talking even when we've heard nothing *pause*

Yes, it's the topic that never ends....

Wondering if anyone caught the worlds favorite fake Dr, Dr Phil on the View talking about Josh. He hinted that there could be a lot more to come by saying “You know what I’m really concerned about with regard to that… We have not seen the bottom of that yet. My dad used to say that for every rat you see, there’s 50 you don’t.â€

Is there some kind of gossip that he's heard from the counselling community? Not that he in any way is a rep or spokesman for that group. Just an interesting thing for him to say.

If we stop talking about them, does anybody think they will just go away quietly, never to be heard from again? (sigh)

Like the tree falling in the woods, if a Smuggar goes to RU and there is no one around to see him, does he really get rehabbed?

As for the clan, they don't get to say whether they go quietly or not. Once the Peoples and the US Weeklys and the tabloids of the world stop reporting on them, they'll just go away. The internets are a vast place, and the Duggars can't make enough noise on their own to be heard above the din.

I don't know about JimBob but this definitely reminded me of Gothard.
