Its nice to see the Vatican clarify this matter a bit. It seems I was a bit unfair to him and his staff earlier - so, apologies Pope Frank.

I'm not giving Francis or the Vatican a full pass though - he still opposes marriage equality, still opposes a woman's right to have an abortion, and he still hasn't taken any real steps in regards to the child sexual abuse scandals. The first two are a bit understandable as its the Church's official position and I am unsure what he could really do about those things - the third is indefensible for any Pope though. He has done some wonderful work on behalf of the poor and less fortunate in the world and I give him full credit for that - especially for housing a refugee family in the Vatican as they go through the immigration process. I do feel he needs to turn a serious eye towards the sexual abuse of children by Priests and do more than just set up a Council to allegedly investigate claims.

(Still, I am glad to see them clarify their side of the meeting.)

Agreed. I have hopes that he will evolve, but this is the Catholic Church we are talking about, so I'm also being cautious.

That was kind of my feeling. Maybe she can think about how it feels, being rejected. I wonder if she'll even pause and notice how at least she had some control over the things she's being picketed for, and yet she's rejecting others for things they have no control over. I hope they don't show up. My oldest friend is in that town (Morehead, KY). In everyday life, it's a quiet place where she and her girlfriend can live in peace. (That town is called "The gay capital of East Kentucky," by some.)

With all the bullshit going down there lately, the place is in an uproar. It just settled back down. Westboro needs to stay away so that everybody there, regardless of orientation or belief or anything else, can have some damn peace and quiet.

But yes, Kim Davis sucks as a government employee and I hope they get rid of her ASAP. Also, I hope Westboro disappears for lack of interest, as they also suck at being decent human beings.

In someways, I am starting to feel bad for Kim Davis. Yes, she is wrong and did stupid stuff. Now is nothing but a political pawn who is brought out when they need to make a statement.i don't think she sees it this way, but I can see them leaving her like a chewed piece of chewed gum on the side of the road after they have used her to her full potential and someone else comes along.
