Our health care system is a joke.

In 2005, I HAD to have spinal surgery due to a herniated cervical disc that was impinging my spinal cord to the point that I was in danger of permanent paralysis in my left arm and hand. At the time, I had a job and private health insurance.

THREE YEARS (yes, you read that right!) after my operation, the hospital where the surgery was performed decided that they had not been paid enough by my insurance company, and decided to sue me for ten thousand dollars. As a single parent whose home was foreclosed due to my inability to keep up with the mortgage after becoming disabled, I did not have any money to pay them - not that it mattered, because they simply took me to court and got a judgment against me.

Nope, nothing wrong here... :whistle:
