Where'd her youtube songs go? I can only find USSSSSEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!1111111!!!!! and the stillgaygreg and Bride video. Is she on a deleting spree?

Also, there is a picture on her fb from Oct. By that point she should have been 7 months preg. right? Why does she not look it?

I want to know when she started to "look" pregnant. Someone once asked her where she had been "hiding" the pregnancy/baby.

Sadly, "Child of the King" and "Keep Your Clothes On" are still available for your listening, and snarking, pleasure.

Why do these two keep posting that they are going offline for a day/weekend/whatever? No one cares! it's like they think the world will panic if they turn their computers off. I spend the day away from the computer frequently and I don't feel the need to make a formal announcement about it.

Judging by the number of new or very-low post count posters on this thread, I'm guessing that Dede might be giving an account of her time, in advance of her 'friends' looking for information elsewhere. :)

This. And then they don't even stay offline when they say they will. I think having to announce it smacks of their self-importance. After all, you have to feel pretty important if you believe you are carrying a baby that is meant to bring the world to repentance, or something like that.

Common sense, biological fact and critical thinking tell us that a living, viable fetus of 52 weeks gestation is not possible. Fetal demise and compromised maternal health is inevitable.

Coming full circle, what do we have?

1. Mental and physical illness - The fact of husband and group of people (family and friends, church, etc.) participating and excited make this the least likely, even though it certainly feels like crazy and we think she must have a tumor. Short of an extraordinary group hysteria, this isn't really even possible. They wouldn't all embrace it, unless they were ALL crazy together at the same time. She might be, but they wouldn't all climb on board.

2. An elaborate hoax - Considering the group buy-in, this is far more likely. But still a stretch. All of them? This could only be, in the context of a church outreach project, social experiment, Easter production/performance art. Alternatively, a financial scam, meant to draw attention to ministries and get donations. The church started something that took on a life of its own and now they can't unring that bell and they don't know how to shut it down gracefully and without loss of face.

3. A viable pregnancy - A woman who thought she was pregnant when she wasn't. Way way way wrong on the due date. A real fetus of less than 40 weeks gestation.

a.) A personal matter broadcast on the internet and Facebook. A woman who actually then does conceive, but much later than her initial excited announcements. Unintentional, but too arrogant to say, "Oops, my bad." So they roll with it, make it larger than life and miraculous. Really not knowing when she got pregnant.

b.) A woman who had limited sex with a gay neuteredsterilized husband and needs to have conceived on specific dates or within limited time frames in order for it to be the exgaynecromancer's offspring.

c.) A very private hoax, limited to the happy couple and a third second male [wow, my own personal biases sees three men, whacky...] or IVF. Crazy lady and extragayguy are in a marriage of convenience. He's still gay. She wants another baby. A means to an end for both of them. He gets to look like a virile straight man with proof of sex with a woman. She gets a baby. A deliberate plan that both of them use for personal self-promotion and respective career goals.

4. A non-viable pregnancy. Fetal demise early on; rare complications like uterine fibroids, hydatidiform molar pregnancy, trophoblastic choriocarcinoma, etc. Denial and delusion only by the woman. Refusal to seek prenatal care and medical attention. This isn't that unusual. Just the length of time passing is unusual.

No other parties involved. The appearance of a wide circle of friends and family and church isn't as personal as it appears. Nobody really knows each other, sees one another often enough to pay attention or be alarmed, nobody cares about the funny little woman and her ex-gay husband and nobody's bothering to do the math on her endless pregnancy.

Husband's role here: he IS a nut. He's the crazy one. He lets her think she's pregnant and supports her delusions instead of getting her help. Because it suits him. Because he's a jerk. Because he's controlling? Ultimately, it serves to masculate him and improve his position in his "ministry."

I'm going with #3 and #4.

#3 and #4 do seem most likely.

She may be pregnant but is fibbing on the dates for some reason (such as her husband being gay and neutered) or was pregnant but lost it and they refuse to give up on the idea of her being pregnant.

I'm going with #2. It seems like the most likely scenario given the facts that we know.

To me, the most telling thing so far has been the sentence in her most recent Dr. announcement that "presents are welcome" . Before then, I was leaning more towards tumor with delusion ala Queen Mary of England, but this pushes me towards crazy hoax. When we were pregnant with our first child and it was a pregnancy with not that great of timing - we still would NEVER have made the announcement that presents are welcome. Tacky to the nth degree.

I'm leaning toward 3 and 4, because if it were 2 and were an elaborate hoax, wouldn't they be ramping up their efforts now that they've become infamous, instead of backing off as they have? Hmmm.

Unless they only intended to hoax and rip off their friends and not a wider audience. Too many impartial people who can do math have stumbled across it.

My money has been on this "solution."

A terrible thought- but I remember reading somewhere (can't remember if it was here) that Dede claimed that they were poor. Maybe the plan all along was to have a "stillbirth", get a fake photo, and sell the things from the registry? But they've realised with this many people watching them they can't pull those kind of shenanigans?

When I first read that post, I thought that she meant baby gifts, too. But upon second reading, I think that it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek about birthday gifts (the supposed follow-up doctor's appointment is scheduled for hit birthday).

Is that, like, double sarcasm?

Quadruple sarcasm, baby.

Just 2 months later St. Helens catastrophically erupted on May 18, 1980 during which 57 people were killed or never found and huge tracts of forest and homes were destroyed.

Perfect.

That's Ash Wednesday. Will she be giving up the pregnancy for Lent?

Damn it! I knew I missed something important! I thought that was Mardi Gras!

Oops. Apparently I need to go to church. Obviously, I haven't done Lent lately. In this decade. Oh, wait, not since confirmation. I've watched people do Lent, though. Does that count?

Aren't most fundies against fertility treatments and such? I don't see Dede doing IVF or IUI, and she probably can't afford IVF. I don't know how much IUI costs. I know someone pointed out that it's cheaper than IVF, but I don't know how well off Dede and Greg are.

The thing is, they only come off as moderately "fundie". Just more "crazie". But I think you're probably right that they couldn't afford IVF.

Apparently, IUI costs $400-$800, which is a lot cheaper than IVF. Greg still has sperm, so he could still contribute, but the cost of having MESA and PESA procedures done are expensive, probably a lot more than the cost of IUI. I don't see how it's possible for Dede to get pregnant unless it's a donor sperm.
