Well, I for one am damn sick of him posting endless articles, usually sexual in nature, just so he can feel like he's the big man who is educating the women here, while at the same time getting his sexual jollies. He loves to tell me how mean I am to him, but I have yet to hear him ask why I feel violated by these posts. No, he just likes to portray me as the hysterical feminist who is so darn unreasonable. He refuses to acknowledge that because he is a man in a mostly female community, he should be extra careful to consider carefully what he posts before he posts it. Believe it or not, he used to be a whole lot worse.

For the record, I am NOT a sexual prude. But I have lived long enough that I no longer put up with guys pushing their sexual agenda on me, and then blaming it on me when I don't accept it. It's a public board, it's open to anyone regardless of gender and the terms make it pretty clear that sensitivity is not required. Societal repression of normal sexual activities such as masturbation seems to be within the scope of the snark board. Re the original post - it's no news that JHKellogg was anti-masturbation and marketed Corn Flakes as a remedy (also a remedy for all sorts of other maladies) and he was also a Millerite/future-SDA/fundie. It doesn't really surprise me that people are still looking to early church leaders for fixes to their humanness.

It's absolutely true. He and his brother ended up having a fall-out over some of that whack job's ideas. The brother went on to found Post.

He was massively behind the promotion of circumcision (for women as well I think? can't remember) to try and stop masturbation. I believe he was one of the reasons it was so popular.
