Upcoming Baby Season

thanks for the clarification! I still think it's a horrid name to saddle a kid with, but that's just my opinion. I found it odd as her other children have relatively normal middle names. I hope her next son is named NieNieson Nielson.

It has been already mentioned in other threads before, but to keep this one complete:

My understanding is that in Icelandic and Scandinavian cultures a girl child can be named to honor her ancestor(s) with a name like Davidsdottir (daughter of David) or Evasdotter (daughter of Eva). Clementine oranother of our FJians from the north could confirm or deny.

FWIW I love the idea,

Christiansdatter is weird because it is a mix of a matronym and patronym. If it was a true matronym it would be Stephaniesdatter. Boys would have patronyms and would be Christianson/Christiansen (English names have them as well in Johnson, Thomson etc).

And totally replied to the wrong person. Ball sacks.

crazy Janice supposedly had her 8th kid a few days ago (scheduled induction) but no news yet has been posted on her blog. Let's all pray that she decided NOT to name it brayleeanne or whatever the hell horrid name she had picked out!

I was so disappointed when her last son was born and she changed her mind from the name Jesse to JAXXON! Poor kid was so close to having a normal name.

Oh, and she says this is her last baby...do you believe her? I don't.

I don't understand why some of these people choose Klassy porn star names over perfectly lovely bible or virtue names.

Well, Crazy Janice is only a sometimes fundie. I don't know as much about her as others here do, but when she's not fundie, she's Mormon or bisexual or into weight loss or...

Didn't she say that before? I'm sure she said that after her 6th or 7th baby.

Lina finally updated her blog (well, a while ago, but I hadn't looked in a few weeks); looks like she's officially in the third trimester. Just wondering if anyone here knows if only having gained 15-17 pounds in the first two trimesters was normal, especially given her small size to begin with. I know, there's no "normal" when it comes to pregnancy stuff, but that just seems so low to me. :?

It can be normal. I only gained 16 pounds, mostly during my third trimester. However, I had an ultrasound every two weeks to make sure my little one was growing well since I stayed so small. As long as Lina's doc is clearing her, and she's getting adequate nutrition (especially if she's still vegan) all is probably well.

BTW: Kendalyn Staddon is about to give birth to her first one every week now. She just hit the 37th week.

I'm approaching my 3rd in 2 weeks and I have only gained a grand total of 7 lbs.

However, my body type is definitely of the "fluffier" variety.

I don't have kids but when my aunt was pregnant with her first son she only gained about 10lbs, and she was super tiny (and very young) at the time. She didn't even start to show until around 8 months.

I thought that is what they encourage now (the 15-17 pounds) I mean keep in mind the baby is right now only like what 4?

Totally depends on your provider and your weight. My SIl has 50 lbs on me and was told not to gain more than 15-20 total if she could swing it. I get 20-25. We go to the same office. :)

this site says it depends on BMI: http://www.babycenter.com/0_pregnancy-w ... ct_1466.bc

If your pre-pregnancy weight was in the healthy range for your height (a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9), you should gain between 25 and 35 pounds, gaining 1 to 5 pounds in the first trimester and about 1 pound per week for the rest of your pregnancy for the optimal growth of your baby.

If you were underweight for your height at conception (a BMI below 18.5), you should gain 28 to 40 pounds.

If you were overweight for your height (a BMI of 25 to 29.9), you should gain 15 to 25 pounds. If you were obese (a BMI of 30 or higher), you should gain between 11 and 20 pounds.

So she is totally in the range to gain the 25 pounds yet.
