@HoneyBunny, exactly. A friend had a hormone-related form of breast cancer when her daughter was young, and decided, “Angela needs a mother more than she needs a baby brother.” Fortunately, decades later, she has a clean bill of health.

Should Gov Abbott from TX be allowed to make that decision for all the woman living in TX? And some people are surprised that the majority of US citizen support a woman’s right to choose? REALLY? How about letting the government decide who gets to have LASIK, Bunion surgery or Viagra????

Ooh! ooh! I want to sit on that committee!

You want LASIK because you don't like wearing glasses? Well, suck it up, buttercup, we all have to do things we don't like.

What do you need Viagra for? Your wife is past childbearing age! Viagra will only tempt you to put your Johnson where it doesn't belong.

Bunions? Just buy wider shoes!

And it makes less sense for NR-Anna to continue to produce babies. It's not like she had six girls and wanted to risk it all to try for a son to carry on her husband's name. She had three of each before her diagnosis.

Such great news! A few years ago, who would have thought this possible?!

I'm really glad Mary didn't drop out after her wedding but probably continued her studies online.

Such wonderful news! And Mary has finished her degree and apparently made it to her one-year anniversary without a blessing.

It will be interesting to see what Anna does now. I don’t see her returning to live at home. I could see her taking on a job at the college.

As a BEC I'm not convinced "convicted" that Stevehovah is happy for them.  Terified is probably secretly happy but is hiding it from Stevehovah.

I actually zoomed through the graduation ceremony and heard Anna recite her Bible verse, but I couldn't find Mary. I didn't have the patience to watch the whole thing. The parts I saw seemed like one long church service. But I'm happy that both of them were able to be part of a different community and learn about other ways of thinking and living. I imagine their father in particular is distraught about some aspect of the ceremony...

Well, this is lovely news. I actually got a little teary-eyed looking at the photos of them in their caps and gowns. Who'd have believed it a few short years ago?!

Take that, Steve!

I’m guessing this is the back of Steve and Teri’s heads. I could be wrong. But it looks like them. And Steve might even be taking a pic with his phone:

Well spotted! You know we've been following this family a long time when we can recognise them in a crowd of people just by the backs of their heads!🤣

I could imagine Abby seeing Mary and Anna going to college and thinking she wants to do the same. But I wonder if Nate would make her go to a Bible college in Kansas.

Just thought I would add that Abby will turn 16 this month. To make us all feel old!

So happy to learn that both Anna Maxwell and Mary (Maxwell) Hock earned 4 year degrees!  And the poster that found Steve and Terri, from behind, in the audience has Eagle eyes!  I looked at the photo on ABCs Facebook page and the male head sitting next to Steve definitely looks to be curly, dark haired Sam Hock.  Given Steve’s long standing 100% anti- college education stance, it was interesting to see him in the audience!

Color me surprised Stevehovah attended the graduation.  Terified wouldn't have dared attend without him.

Bet you cash money Stevehovah use the event to question everyone there about their faith and if they knew where they were going when they died. He probably worked in The Reversal(TM) story to explain Mary's and Anna's presence.

Please dear Rufus, please ensure that Anna doesn't have to return to Kansas and she has a job waiting for her immediately after graduation. Far from Stevehovah World.

When I read that first paragraph I literally thought “that’s still ages away”. Then I read the second paragraph and thought “wow, WHAT?!” I can’t believe Abby is almost 16 already. I think I already followed the Maxwells when she was born. Has it really been that long? Time flies, it’s crazy!

Fingers crossed Abby will have a chance to go to an actual brick-and-mortar college! I guess we can’t hope for a secular, accredited one…

Great news that Mary AND Anna completed their 4-year degrees.

I am also surprised that Steve deigned to attend. It looks like he was there for the whole grad weekend since the photo that shows him & Teri was taken at an event honoring the seniors a day or two before the actual graduation.

I'm rather sad to say goodbye to Appalachian Bible College after 3 years of playing Where's Wally?

Scouring photographs to try and find Anna and Mary in the crowd, and my heart lifting when I found a photo of them smiling and enjoying themselves.

It's been fun to see them spread their wings out in a wider world and escape their own Maxhell.

We thought that when the blog stopped that would be the end of our Maxwell  snark, but the girls have given us that "feel good" experience, when you're genuinely happy to see someone who was constrained in a joyless family   finding happiness in their own life.

Best of luck girls!

I wonder if Steve attended so he would have something to write about in the future.
He can pretend to be proud of his daughters while still sniffing with disapproval that people there were showing joy and didn’t talk about god and the bible enough for him. He is probably miffed that the college didn’t ask him to be the keynote speaker.

Steve is a legend in his own mind. Convinced that he is a nation-wide influential Christian blogger/speaker and business man because of his Dad's Corner column (which I'm sure he believes 100s of 1000s and 1000s of men read and follow his advice) and their (now mostly defunct) homeschool books biz.

Steve's influence went as far as the walls of his house.  I cannot imagine that very many families followed his strict joyless fatalistic controlling edicts and commands on how to be a Christian. In Stevehovah's warped mind no one, not even his family, can ever be as godly and Christian as he is. Because he knows where he's going when he dies. At least he thinks he does.

I hope Abbey can go to college. Perhaps Nathan can be persuaded to send her to ABC.

I'll bet money that Christopher's children will never darken the door (even on line) of a college.  He got degrees because he needed them to get jobs.  But his children won't be allowed (same as Steve and Teri did for years).

Dear Rufus I sincerely hope Chris doesn't do to his children what Steve did and forbid them to engage in any activity they enjoy/ are interested in.

Wonder  how everyone is getting back to Kansas.  If Steve, Teri and Sam all drove out to the graduation in one big car, seems like there might not be enough room for Mary and Anna (and all her stuff from school) to join them for return trip.   Don’t think we ever heard about Anna having her own vehicle at school.  My hope is that Mary and Sam drive back with her parents and Anna stays in WV and has a job lined up at the school!

Didn't we see a pic of Steve taking a phone pic during Sarah's wedding? So him taking a pic with his cell phone at an event he might or might not be thrilled about it definitely logical given his history.
