It has to be something like that-- because the only other thing that would explain it is that (s)he's transitioning. And that can't be it. Can it? Because I really don't think Sarah would be side-hugging someone from the LGBTIAQ+ family...

After accounting for differences in age makeup between states, Arkansas is ranked 6th-highest based on its death rate.

In 2022, Covid was the 5th leading cause of death.

In 2020, Arkansas ranked 45th based on life expectancy.

Arkansas is ranked 17th-highest based on its share of the uninsured population. Furthermore, in 2021, 44.4% of Arkansas' population was covered by public health insurance plans funded by governments at the federal, state, or local level. (SOCIALISM!!!!)

I hope someone calls her out for her pandering and asks her what she is doing to counter her state's abysmal public health record.

Wake up Arkansans, whether there is a trans person in the restroom is the least of your problems. Ask Gov. Huckabee what she is doing to improve education, environment, and health in her state.

The attorney for an Arkansas whistleblower has sent a letter to the state legislature claiming evidence that Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ office manipulated a document linked to her purchase of a $19,000 podium, according to the Arkansas Times. The whistleblower also claimed to have evidence that Sanders’ office ordered a state agency not to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request for documents that were not exempt from the law. The documents were requested by attorney and blogger Matt Campbell, who blew the lid off what’s come to be known as Podiumgate. Taxpayer funds used to buy the lectern were reimbursed by the state Republican Party on Sept. 14—the same day Sanders signed a law that weakened the state’s Freedom of Information Act.

I hadn't seen a picture of the infamous podium, so I searched. Now, I know the issue is a financial one, and I don't usually care about what someone wears, but I laughed as soon as I saw it.

It is the furniture version of her wardrobe!

A slick, artificial-looking surface (in a similar shade of blue to the ruffled dress), mixed with a clashing "rustic" material, in a shape that is distracting and likely not to flatter her.

Did she think the book-matched veneer on the front looked like angel wings?  🙄 If so, she doesn't seem to have noticed the vulva-like shape above them!

Holy shit.  That is one ugly podium.  I don't usually even have an opinion about podiums but I'll make an exception for this one.  She has no taste whatsoever.

OMG, @thoughtful, you are right, it is the furniture version of her wardrobe!  $19,000 for that??  Good grief, that is fugly.  There ya go, Arkansas, Gov. Huckabee is spending taxpayer money on such as this.  With the brouhaha, I wonder if it will ever see the light of day or if it will be a $19,000 coatrack in the office.  I also wonder if she similarly overpays for her hideous outfits.
