Donald Trump has called for terminating the United Constitution and he’s basing this on the release of the so-called Twitter Files.

Let’s back up. Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. He tried to steal it after he lost it. He spread a dozen conspiracy theories and his lawyers lost over 60 court cases in multiple states trying to overturn the election he fairly lost. He and his goons tried to install fake electors. He tried to get his vice president, Mike Pence, to refuse to certify the election. He called the secretary of state in Georgia and demanded that he “find” him the votes he needed to defeat Biden in that state, even though those votes didn’t exist. When all that failed, he had white nationalist terrorists attack the Capitol in order to stop Congress from certifying the election. Trump lost the election. There is no evidence that disputes that.

In October 2020, The New York Post ran a story about Hunter Biden’s laptop that didn’t really produce anything. The scandal was that Hunter owned a laptop. Nothing on it could be confirmed or authenticated at the time and even the reporters who wrote the story didn’t want their names on it. Twitter blocked the account of the NY Post and others that were sharing the story, or nude photos that were supposedly of Hunter Biden.

For the past two years, MAGAts have been screaming that this was election interference by Twitter and the Democrats and if the story hadn’t been suppressed, then Donald Trump would have won the election.

Over the weekend, Elon Musk released the Twitter Files that were analyzed by independent reporter Matt Taibbi. They were released in over two dozen tweets. What they confirmed was that Twitter had an internal discussion over whether to allow links to the story on its platform or not. The CEO of Twitter wasn’t aware of this discussion. The Biden campaign, the Trump White House, and the Trump campaign were all in contact with Twitter over what stories they should allow and suppress. The main thing the Biden team wanted was for all pornographic photos of Hunter to be removed from Twitter.

The New York Times wrote, “Mr. Musk and Mr. Taibbi framed the exchanges as evidence of rank censorship and pernicious influence by liberals. Many others — even some ardent Twitter critics — were less impressed, saying the exchanges merely showed a group of executives earnestly debating how to deal with an unconfirmed news report that was based on information from a stolen laptop.”

Now, Republicans are screaming that this proves the election was stolen and major corruption was in play. What this really proves is that there are now two things that Republicans can’t tell you the contents of, Hunter’s laptop and the Twitter Files. Before the release, Elon tweeted, “This will be awesome” with a popcorn emoji.

Just like how everything you hear about Hunter’s laptop doesn’t mention what’s in it, none of these howls about the Twitter Files actually tell you what was revealed. I bet Elon couldn’t tell you what’s in the Twitter Files.

Tucker Carlson claimed that the “documents show a systemic violation of the First Amendment, the largest example of that in modern history.” Tucker doesn’t know what’s in the Twitter Files, hasn’t actually read the First Amendment, and doesn’t know the definition of “systemic.”

Republicans are also howling that the media isn’t covering the release of the Twitter Files, except they are. Except the press isn’t repeating the lies that the Republicans and Elon are saying. Elon has complained that the press isn’t covering the release while also refusing to provide these documents to the press.

Two things: Twitter is not the government. Joe Biden was a candidate when the NY Post story ran, not the president. This is not government suppression.

But now Donald Trump is howling on his platform that the Twitter Files prove the election was stolen, there should be an immediate new election, or he should be reinstated, and that the Constitution should be terminated.

Trump “truthed,” “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

If you believe Twitter suppressing a story they couldn’t verify was meddling in an election, then you have to also believe that Russia’s disinformation campaign was meddling in the 2016 election. You would also have to believe that the multiple public statements from the FBI about investigating Hillary Clinton was meddling in the election.

Donald Trump wants to be handed the presidency. He wants to redo the 2020 election now, but he already lost that one. Or better yet for him, he just wants to be “reinstated.”

Today, he repeated his call to be given the presidency, in all caps, or that the election should be “redone.” He’s saying the media is lying about his calls to terminate the Constitution, but that’s exactly what he’s demanding. There is nothing in the Constitution that allows for the presidential election to be “redone” or to just hand him the presidency because he whines for it.

Donald Trump used the word “terminate” in regard to rules, regulations, and articles in the Constitution.

So, now where are all his MAGAts who claim they’re constitutionalists? Where are their condemnations of Trump’s call to terminate the Constitution of the United States of America? Where are the Republican voices condemning his anti-American demands?

Donald Trump’s disrespect and disregard aren’t new and neither is the GOP’s enabling of it. What is new is that Donald Trump has specifically called for the “termination” of the United States Constitution while running for president. The frontrunner for the nomination of the Republican Party presidential candidate wants the Constitution destroyed. The thing is, they should have kicked Trump to the curb when he ordered an attack on the Capitol and tried to overturn the last election. Continuing to enable Donald Trump is unAmerican. Supporting Donald Trump is treasonous.

You are NOT pro-America or pro-Freedom, or a constitutionalist by supporting the man who wants to terminate the Constitution. We elect presidents in this nation, we don’t appoint them.

If Donald Trump somehow wins or takes the 2024 election, the Constitution will go bye-bye…and Republicans and MAGAts will support that.

"Werewolves For Warnock"

This morning, millions of people who care about democracy and the progressive direction of this nation woke up saying, “whew!” And millions of Georgians who didn’t want to be represented in the United States Senate by a hypocritical lying moron who resides in Texas said the same thing.

This morning, Republicans are wondering how they could have lost Georgia after working so hard to suppress the vote. Didn’t they change voting laws making it harder for black people to vote? Republicans even made it illegal to give bottles of water to people in voting lines that they made unnecessarily longer. So naturally, there will be accusations by Republicans and goons on Fox News that the election was stolen. And as usual, they won’t have any proof.

Republicans are at a loss as to how Georgia voters would reject a lying deadbeat dad in Herschel Walker who spent time on the campaign trail, when he wasn’t taking those five days off during the runoff, talking about how he’d rather be a werewolf than a vampire. Didn’t that fake police badge convince them he was legit?

Instead of supporting policies that appeal to a majority of voters, Republicans decided it’d be easier to change voting laws, thus making it harder for people to vote who support stuff other than tax cuts for billionaires and racism. Instead of putting up a solid candidate, Republicans decided to put up a famous name with an “R” beside it, believing that was good enough. They also thought selecting a black Republican would appeal to black voters in Georgia, which was insulting to believe that they’d ignore his policies or the bullshit that came out of his mouth.

Georgia Republicans believed that nominating a guy who ran well with a football back in the 1980s and was a hometown hero for Georgia, would put them over the top, never mind the fact he actually lived in Texas. In the final days of the campaign, Republicans were accepting that Walker was a terrible candidate and was telling voters to vote for him just because he was a Republican and that he would vote in the Senate the way white GOP overlords would tell him to vote. They may as well have come out and said Walker would pick their cotton.

Governor Brian Kemp refused to run with Walker or support him during the general election. He didn’t believe he could afford it. After he won in the general election, and in the last days of the run-off, he finally came out with an endorsement, not so much of Walker but for the Republican slot. Brian Kemp is a coward and what he was doing here was winning favors from the Republican establishment, especially with Mitch McConnell. Brian Kemp may run for the Senate someday. Let’s hope when that day comes and he runs against either Senator Jon Ossoff or Senator Raphael Warnock, that Georgia has gone further blue.

Republicans made sure to keep Trump out of the state during the general election and runoff even though he hand-picked Walker. Republicans know that whenever Donald Trump holds a rally for a candidate, that candidate typically loses. Donald Trump is a loser and now, so is Herschel Walker.

Maybe in the future, the Republican Party should choose candidates who are actually qualified. Running idiotic goons who can’t tell you the three branches of government might work in red states like Alabama, but not so much in states trending blue.

Republicans believed Raphael Warnock was a bad candidate for the Democratic Party. But why did they believe that? Have they never heard him speak? Did they not look at his record? It’ll be interesting to see where Raphael Warnock’s political career goes as he is an excellent candidate. Proof of that is, he won… in Georgia.
