I saw people wondering earlier if he would be remanded back to the Rebers before being sentenced. That tiktok lawyer just posted a video saying because of the seriousness of the charges and if found guilty,  it’s far more likely that the judge, who has discretion to do so, will send him immediately to prison to await sentencing.

I was skeptical until I dove into Laura’s Instagram last night. She is all in personally and professionally. All the families, as we know, go way way back, and I believe, are still connected to IBLP and each other - just more savvy about the publicity. I think the Duggars are all still fully in (Duggars attend all family conferences). The younger generation seems to have distanced in some ways, but until I see public disavowing from anyone, I think it is all normal to them - if nothing else the relationships can’t be left behind - they’ve all intermarried. 
 

I don’t know how IBLP leaders feel about Duggars being the well known reps of their brand at this point, but I imagine Duggars still bring people in. I’m only half joking about Laura being a minder. I think she mainly travels around and fellowships with various families and IBLP headquarters for extended periods of time. She seems to be close friends with Duggars for a long time, but she also has strong vested interest in public face of IBLP.

My guess is that there isn't going to be another break until it's gone to the Jury.  The defense has 30 minutes to state their case, then the prosecution goes again for final remarks, jury instructions follow.  The Sun won't update until their reporter comes out of the courtroom.  At which point we will be watching the rest of the day for a verdict to come in, sooner the better.

The reason it is preferable to refer to "child Porn" as images of child sexual assault and abuse is that it is really and truly in a category all on its own in terms of legality/morals/harm caused etc.  I don't think they should be compared in the same breath.  

People can have legitimate arguments about the problematic nature of the pornography industry which are totally valid and involve exploitation, oppression, trauma etc.   However those same arguments may overlap in some ways with CSAM but they are completely different beasts entirely IMO.  It would be terrible for any jury to confuse one with the other or see them as being just two things on a spectrum and a matter of being open minded or whatever.  They are not the same in any way.  Different stratospheres.

States have different rules. My understanding (could be wrong) is that in Federal Court, it rewinds back to the moment before jury selection.  So everything already filed with the court (evidence lists and witness lists) remain, as well as the motions in limine which were ruled on (i.e. the Holt testimony). 

It's also a very short timeline.  Less than 90 days from when the Judge enters the mistrial into the record, I think.  

Also, all witness testimony was made under oath in the first trial. If a witness materially changed their testimony in the second trial, they can be impeached with their prior testimony.

I was talking about her FB pages.  She outed herself today on her Pickles FB page and I guess someone on reddit made a post about it.
