Roseuncharted: Fundie Queen of Conspiracy Instagram

I know I’ve shared this elsewhere on FJ, but some of my parenting choices put me in the “sort-of crunchy” camp (nothing weird or crazy, IMO, stuff like natural birth, extended breastfeeding, cloth diapering, babywearing etc). Anyway, as a result of that, some of the people I’ve met are on the extreme end of crunchy parenting, and a few of them routinely share Rose Uncharted’s stuff on IG and it just makes me cringe so hard. I don’t understand why none of them seem to apply any critical thinking skills to it!! I have muted or unfollowed most of them in the last many months bc I just can’t deal with the ignorance and flat out dangerous information they share.

Rose won’t cut her son’s hair because it’s connected to the nervous system.

This seems like somebody input a bunch of fundy/woowoo/crunchy words into a computer and a bot randomly spit this phrasing out.

This all sounds strangely hippie for a fundie. Also she has two boys, so it seems even more unusual. I gues she doesn't care that they might be mistaken for boys. I'd praise her for not caring about current gender norms, but her pseudoscience is too awful to be praised for anything.

Yeah, in the other stories she says she doesn’t want to cut off their intuition and that men have intuition just as much as women which I’m like, yeah I agree. EXCEPT it’s not because hair is tentacles.

I just got my hair cut for the first time since the pandemic started.  I was waiting till my hair stylist and I had both been vaccinated.  The length of it was driving me CRAZY.  I guess I just didn't enjoy being so connected to the world or whatever this crazy lady is trying to say here.  My hair and I are feeling much better despite what she is saying here.

Has she mentioned where she attends church, if she attends church? Not cutting her son's hair because it catches energy would put her against most fundie churches belief set. There are some male fundies, especially of a "granola/off the grid" types with long hair. However, saying long hair "catches energy" would be way to New Age for any fundie I know.

So I actually was curious about that as well. As of 2014, she attended Forerunner Christian Fellowship in Kansas City, which seems to be an offshoot of International House of Prayer Kansas City. IHOP is super intense and culty, heavily into prophecy and end times.

More info:

She moved to KC specifically to work at IHOP. She met her husband there. Her husband’s family seems to be pretty heavily involved, given the wedding website I found for her brother in law which talked about their weird arranged marriage situation and their future plans to be missionaries.

@closetcagebaby, wow IHOP is internationally hateful. They were mentioned I believe in the documentary God Loves Uganda. They exported their anti-lgbt views to Uganda which at least temporarily legislated the death penalty for being lgbt in Uganda.

Isn’t hair actually “dead”?? It’s not going to be picking anything up from the environment... a cat’s whiskers aren’t the same as human hair. Where the heck did she pick this idea up from??

Even assuming that what she posted is true (???), cutting hair doesn’t reduce the numbers of hair-tentacles on your head, just shortens them. So there isn’t even any internal logic with this one.

Now I have seen everything.

Measles:

140,000. The estimated number of people dying from measles in 2018.

6 million. The estimated number of people dying from measles per year before a vaccine was available. 500 is the number of deaths per year in the US, before the vaccine.

1000. The number (pre-vac) per year in the US who developed encephalitis (swelling of the brain), which can leave the child deaf or intellectually disabled.

Polio

Zero. Cases of polio in the US. The disease has been eradicated due to the vaccine. US has been polio free since 1979.

Thousands. Died of polio per year in the US until the introduction of the vaccine.

Thousands. Left paralysed by polio. 2-10 % of those with paralysis would die, due to their breathing muscles being paralysed.

1955. The polio vaccine was approved.

Penicillin

200 million. The estimated number of lives penicillin have saved.

STFU Rose. I have met fruit flies with larger intellectual capacity than you.

Hair can have a sensory function. Like the expression "the hair on the back of my neck stood up" is used you're freaked out and your intuition is sensing something.  However those are tiny hairs and not the hair on your head.

Rose came up on the Kristen Young thread and I did a search and was shocked to see that she hasn’t come up here before. She is the patient zero of fundies on Instagram who espouse wild conspiracy theories on pretty, neutral backgrounds. Her Instagram highlights are a fun scroll.

She attended one of Sean Feucht’s anti mask Jesus rallies in Kansas City. She has some very weird health views and loves her Berkey filter.

She sounds a lot like Sara Jo Poff of Healthy Families For God. She had been working on an online naturopathic doctor degree, but couldn't afford to finish, so she calls herself a holistic therapy practitioner. She does all the "right" things: homeschools her gaggle of kids, frequent chiropractic visits, no medicines, no vaccines, no masks, kangen water filter, unregulated supplements (which she sells), Young Living oils (which she sells), at home lab tests (which she sells and offers an uneducated interpretation), organic and paleo diet, and Jesus!!! Despite all this, her 15 year old "vaccine damaged" son was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes

Spoiler

(February 22 and 25 on her Facebook page, which is open).

How could this happen? And it seems like they don't have any health insurance, not even Samaritan. They have an over $100,000 bill after discounts, and were accepting donations via PayPal.

Hair is tentacles connected to the immune system?

Ohhhh that's why cancer treatments damage the immune system.  It's the hair falling out! /s

Sigh, why am I certain that she's blaming the vaccines? Because type 1 (and type 2 actually) diabetes never occurred pre-vaccination! /s

Oh my God that poor kid.
I have two kids with T1 diabetes. Nobody knows what causes it. As far as they know, people have a predisposition to it and then something triggers it.
I hope to hell she’s supervised. Like, a lot. A T1 Canadian child died because his parents refused to give him insulin and took him to faith healers and trusted God to heal him.
T1 is tricky as hell. And unbelievably expensive and time-consuming. I spent several years in shock after my kids were dx’ed. It hovers over everything you do, every choice you make, and however big a burden it is on parents - it’s worse for kids. Ugh, it makes me angry just THINKING about what this kid has in front of him.

AND!
We have documented cases of T1 back to ancient Egypt and earlier, so the whole “caused by vaccines!” thing is crap.
Is there more T1 now? Yes.
Why? Nobody really knows - but people who were T1 often didn’t or couldn’t have kids (Steel Magnolias, anyone?), and many people with T1 just straight up died before they got diagnosed. So it’s in the population a lot more than it was.
Oh my lord that poor boy.

Pretty sure my childhood rock polisher is stashed somewhere, if I didn't have morals or scruples, I could make so much money!  I wish the FDA (or is it the FCC in this case?) would make these kinds of claims punishable with fines.

She posted something on April 9 about how a trip to the beach temporarily eliminated her son's need for insulin. Oh boy. What I wouldn't do to be working in an emergency room when her son gets brought in for hyperglycemia, and she tries to explain the magical diabetic properties of salt water and why she didn't administer the insulin. Luckily she lives in Oklahoma. I'd include the post but my laptop is dead and I can't figure out how to cut and paste on a tablet.
