Josie and Kelton Balka are expecting a rainbow baby, due in June. Color me not shocked.

Just saw this on her Instagram stories. Really hope that they have a large gap before number three is expected. Two kids by the age of twenty one, she could have a dozen by the time she is in her late thirties.

I'm just surprised we haven't yet heard about mags announce, is this the first a Bates or Duggar has directly announce before the article come out?

Never mind saw the story with the mags link

It seems ridiculous to me that a magazine would write about every single Bates and Duggar pregnancy announcement. Hell, we are on FJ all the time and even we don’t care that much. It’s completely unsurprising every time they announce. The only one that would be a surprise and possibly magazine worthy would be Michael and Brandon. Everyone else gets an eyeroll from me.

@JermajestyDuggar I agree. In general, I think is a mix of having no stories (we know that half of the stories in these magazines are if not false at least hugely exaggerated and based often on a couple of photos) they know they could sell some copies with these stories when many people are tired of the same stories these magazines sell and security of story, they know every few months there will be at least a stories already written (x Bates/Duggar girl is pregnant/pregnant again come to read her story!)

I'm not surprised, but I'm a bit bothered by how quickly she got pregnant again after having a miscarriage.

The advice used to be to wait 3-6 months before trying again to conceive. It’s changed in the last 10ish years though. As long as a woman is otherwise healthy, there’s no reason to delay conception once HCG levels have returned to 0.

If she miscarried in August and is 12-15 weeks now, she did not wait 3-6 months before conceiving. More like 3-6 weeks

When I was trying to get pregnant after a miscarriage my doctor told me to wait until I had 1 normal cycle. Statistically we’re more fertile right after a miscarriage.

That’s exactly my point. The old advice used to be to wait 3-6 months. That is not the advice any longer for otherwise healthy women. Conceiving the cycle following a miscarriage is typically fine. She didn’t do anything dangerous by current medical standards, unless she has some underlying medical issue.

My experience might be skewed because I work for a fertility clinic but I see lots  of women who get pregnant as soon as possible after a miscarriage. Plenty of them - in the very next cycle or the cycle after that.  I think one reason for the advice to wait for a normal cycle was to get  accurate dating but now there is ultrasound.

I think you have to wait to get pregnant after a molar pregnancy. But I don’t think Josie had one. She made it sound like a standard miscarriage.

There is no medical reason to wait after a 'normal' miscarriage. The old reason used to be for dating, but early ultrasound is more accurate than using last period, so no need. If there was a complication, especially a molar pregnancy (high risk of cancerous development), then there might be reason to wait.

Anyway, I'm not surprised either.

Rachel Wissmann Busenitz lost her baby at 19 weeks

Wow, she still has her gender poll up on her Instagram story and she's delivering the baby tomorrow. That is really sad.

She had the gender scan today and it looked like the fetus was lost at 15 weeks due to its small size.

I dislike these people to pretty high levels, but losing a baby at 19 weeks isn't something I would wish on anyone, ever, for any reason. Heartbreaking.

Yeah. It's got to be extra difficult if you've been taught from your own childhood that your only purpose is to have babies and raise them for God.

And also if you’ve been told that if you do everything ‘right’ (save your first kiss until marriage, wear modest clothes, let God decide how many children you will have etc), then God will bless you.

IMO it’s like a type of insidious prosperity doctrine.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
