Trump 4: Now With Less Orange Tan

Destiny

Recommended Posts

So a friend of mine called to check on me and she somehow let it slip she is thinking about voting for Trump. And let me tell you, I nearly ripped a stitch after she said that. I told her to smarten up and use the brain I know she has. I told her as a woman there is no way she could ethically or rationally back a man that has so little respect for us. I also told her if she did vote for him I would come to her house, rings her door bell, wait for her to answer, smack her upside her head and then get back in my car and she would never see me again. Perhaps that was harsh, I admit, but I just can't deal with people I know that are educated and intelligent thinking this asshole that has Twitter rants in the middle of the night is presidential material.

Jack Kingston, Trump advisor, just said Hillary Clinton was sleazy? Unreal.

Have her read this article. "Women of America, this is how much leading Republicans hate you"

There are several interesting quotes, but I like this passage, which follows a review of the Miss Universe fiasco:

Quote

While Trump was bemoaning the difficulties a woman’s body caused him, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, a man with all the personal charm of a cockroach, declared that “After being married to Bill Clinton for 20 years, if you didn’t know the moment Monica Lewinsky said that Bill Clinton violated her that she was telling the truth, then you’re too stupid to be president.”

This raises an interesting series of questions. Does Giuliani think that his second wife and the mother of his children, Donna Hanover, is a fool for attempting to keep their marriage together in light of what her divorce lawyer ultimately described as Giuliani’s “notorious adultery.” Does he think Ivana Trump is stupid for trying to maintain her marriage to Donald Trump even after Trump began cheating on her with Marla Maples?

Is Giuliani really so devoid of personal feeling or political strategy that he thinks people who are cheated on, even repeatedly, regularly and blithely admit it immediately and in public? The answer to that last one, at least, is probably yes, since Giuliani is the sort of person who holds a news conference to announce his separation from his second wife and to praise the woman who will become his third wife without informing the current wife that he plans on going public.

It’s also worth pondering, given that men like Trump and Giuliani tend to portray their adulteries as part of a process of trading up from their earlier wives, what Giuliani expected from Judith Nathan, that third wife. Since Giuliani famously used the impotence that resulted from his prostate cancer treatments as a defense in his second divorce, does he think Nathan would have been justified in swapping him for a healthier partner?

I get the point, not that I didn’t get it before. If I speak up, I’m a shrill nag. If my weight fluctuates at all, I’m a gross, inconvenient fatty. If my husband cheats, it’s on me. If I try to defend or salvage my marriage, I’m a stupid dupe. Men like Trump and Giuliani have advanced ideas like these so the women in their lives will be cowed, thin and compliant, while if they err, they’re swashbuckling and strategic. The idea that we should trust men who hate us in private to protect us in the public sphere is the ultimate insult to our intelligence.

I can't understand any woman backing Trump, except those who are paid to, like Kellyanne Conway.

Speaking of everyone's favorite airhead:

This would have been painful to watch, but I was too busy laughing my ass off. Don't always agree with Megyn Kelly, but when she's good she's really good. :pb_lol:

@VelociRapture : I was just coming here to post that! I normally can't stand Megyn Kelly, but yay!

I love this article: "Most people grow out of middle school. Not Donald Trump."

Quote

Perhaps the best way to understand Donald Trump is as a case of arrested development.

In terms of personality and worldview, Trump is stuck in middle school. Early middle school.

And that’s being charitable.

Part of growing up is developing self-control. Trump never has. Listen to him in the presidential debate, interjecting compulsively, and flash back to seventh grade and the boy in the back of the class who kept interrupting the teacher with wisecracks. It was amusing, the first time or two. Then it became annoying.

I also love this one. Now cheeto thinks the debate was rigged.

One of the comments in response to the HuffPost article was priceless:

Quote

This is a parody... but it could easily not be:
EMPSTEAD, N.Y. (The Borowitz Report)—Plunging the future of the 2016 Presidential debates into doubt, Donald J. Trump said on Tuesday morning that he would not participate in the remaining two debates if Hillary Clinton is there.

Trump blasted the format of Monday night’s debate by claiming that the presence of Clinton was “specifically designed” to distract him from delivering his message to the American people.

“Every time I said something, she would say something back,” he said. “It was rigged.”

He also lambasted the “underhanded tactics” his opponent used during the debate. “She kept on bringing up things I said or did,” he added. “She is a very nasty person.”

Turning to CNN, Trump criticized the network’s use of a split screen showing both him and Clinton throughout the telecast. “It should have been just me,” he said. “That way people could have seen how really good my temperament is.”

I wonder if the comment writer is on FJ! She sounds like she can snark with the rest of us.

Do you have to pass it in each state you practice in? Could that be why she said she passed it four times?

(Seriously. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know these things. Lol!)

I'm studying to be one but I doubt even 10 years after graduation I still won't know all these things.  Maybe if there are any actual "degreed legal professionals" here they could answer the questions better than I could.

As for having to pass it in each state, usually not, but it all depends on the jurisdiction.  About 1/2 the states are now giving the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) where if you take the exam in one jurisdiction you can apply to transfer the score in to another jurisdiction.

http://www.ncbex.org/exams/ube/

Part of the UBE is the Multi-State Bar Exam, which is done by all states except Louisiana.  Louisiana has their own thing due to their legal system being heavily influenced by France and a code some short French dude came up with.  For states that do the UBE the MBE is weighted at 50% of the total score.

There's also admission on motion for attorneys already licensed to practice in another state where you can apply for admission in another state after they've practiced for so long and can meet the state's other requirements.  Where I live it's not unusual for attorneys to be licensed in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, all three, or some combination of them.

Sound fun yet?  I apparently have to register in November to be able to take the exam in May 2020.

Moving on, how's this for completely fucking gross, Orange Hitler admitted to Stern that he found Paris Hilton attractive at the age of 12.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-paris-hilton_us_57ee9373e4b024a52d2ea629

Quote

“Now, somebody who a lot of people don’t give credit to but in actuality is really beautiful is Paris Hilton,” he said. “I’ve known Paris Hilton from the time she’s 12, her parents are friends of mine, and the first time I saw her she walked into the room and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?’”

“Did you wanna bang her?” Stern asked.

“Well, at 12, I wasn’t interested,” Trump said, “I’ve never been into that ... but she was beautiful.”

He then went on to call Hilton “dumb like a fox” and admitted that he had watched her sex tape.

Excuse me while I go find the 55 gallon barf drum.

OMG the GOP candidate,  the one who should appeal to conservatives and fundies did soft core porn! I'd laugh my head off if it wasn't so sad for you all. If Trump gets elected you're going to become the laughing stock of the world.  I really don't like Hillary, I don't like her programmes and policies especially foreign ones BUT compared to Trump there's really no room for doubt.

Finally an explanation that makes sense. Trump is, apparently, a[n] herald of the second coming. According to Trump's  liaison for Christian policy, Frank Amedia,  "GOD chose Donald Trump to serve as the Republican presidential nominee. And he did it for one reason: To pave the way for the second coming of Jesus Christ". From an article in the Seattle Times  by a Washington State U history professor and author of American Apocalypse: A History of Modern Evangelicalism:

Quote

Trump’s ideas meld perfectly with evangelical apocalyptic expectations as the battle of Armageddon nears. He promises to seize power and to use it for them. He claims he would restore religious liberty to evangelicals. He would prohibit Muslims from entering the country. He would defend Israel at all costs. He would fight abortion by adding conservative justices to the U.S. Supreme Court. He would rebuild the American military. He would destroy the nation’s enemies. He would keep individual citizens well-armed and prepared for battle.

This is a man, in other words, who is not just seeking to beat Clinton. He is seeking to wage a real-world battle against evangelicals’ enemies and a spiritual battle against the Antichrist.

And this is why Amedia tells all who will listen that to support Trump is to ensure that the United States “stays under the favor of God.” To refuse to support Trump, then, is to defy God.

Early on, when Cruz was a wanne-be contender, it was mentioned that evangelicals would go for Trump over Cruz because, although Cruz aligned perfectly with their values, they didn't see him as ultimately electable or able to promote their agenda if he was elected.  Now Trump as a herald of End Times?  Jesus ******* Christ.

Last night on "Real Time", Bill Maher said the following about one of our 'favorite' Trump spokespsychos (he calls them Trump's basket of inexplicables): "Kayleigh McEnany is Ann Coulter, but without the empathy." I laughed so hard, I started to choke. Then he started talking about that whackjob Katrina Pierson, showing some of her quotes, concluding with, "if we were on the $100,000 Pyramid, I'd say this was 'Things a mental patient says'." How true. Scary, but true.

Here's a link to the segment, it's wonderful.

I know that FJers are mostly evil liberals so maybe this isn't exactly the place to ask it, but I have a question. In your opinion the average American citizens are interested in knowing if a candidate for POTUS paid his taxes? Because in this interview

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/oct/02/ann-coulter-finally-candidate-cares-americans-interview-donald-trump

Ann Coulter repeatedly says that only the ebil media are interested in Trump taxes and Americans don't really care. And BTW opiates emergencies are all Mexican immigrants' fault, apparently without Mexicans there wouldn't be any drug abuse problem in the US. And GWB actually won a just war in Iraq, but then Obama arrived and transformed ot into a defeat. Imho she sounds raving mad. And then she says this.

Quote

What do you think of the recent spate of police killings of apparently unarmed or surrendering black men?
Hillary’s position is to take the side of black criminals. Trump’s position is that the people who are most victimised by black criminals are law-abiding black people, and he’s been doing very well with the African American people by taking that message to them.

Do you think it is possible for African Americans to be in favour of law and order but against being shot dead by the police?
That’s a rhetorical question. No, I think black people love being shot. What’s the real question?

I asked you about the spate of shootings and you turned that into black people wanting law and order. There have been several high-profile cases of police killings.
There have been several hysterias that always turn out to be false. In Ferguson, Baltimore, now recently in Charlotte. There’s the original claim that some poor innocent black man of 12 years old [was] walking along with their hands up saying “don’t shoot”, and we’ve had six months of investigation and the whole thing was a lie. [In 2015, two police officers were cleared of criminal conduct in the 2014 shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice in Cleveland, Ohio, while Rice was carrying a toy gun; a grand jury called the shooting a “perfect storm of human error, mistakes and communications”.]

Oh but Trump is going to have POCs votes of course.  /sarcasm

I can't believe POCsand minorities would vote for someone who thinks that there are no problems with police and that institutional racism doesn't exist. And that what happened to Tamir Rice was a lie O.o

@laPapessaGiovanna I think the base on both sides will not be swayed by anything in tax returns. Our elections are determined by a moderate middle of swing voters who may be.

In the case of Trump, some fundagelicals I know think Trump must be Christian because he is rich...Prosperity Gospel at work. Returns showing a lot of debt and less money than he claims will hurt him. They won't vote for Hillary, but they may stay home.

Husband and I watched. I fucking love the women who appeared - Sarah Silverman was hysterical, but the other woman, Angela, was fucking fierce. LOVE how well spoken, intelligent, and no nonsense she was when she spoke - and how often she put the asshole Trump guy in his damn place. I looked at my husband and said that I want our daughter to be her when she grows up. :pb_lol:

Holy hell. Holy.....this must be why the Cheeto won't share his taxes...

My husband is a CPA. So he knows what he's talking about on this.

He says the Times got it 100% right by stressing the fact that what he did was completely legal - because it is.

What makes it look so bad is the fact that he wouldn't pay his contractors fairly while pocketing all the money he made over those potential 18 years. And the fact that he lost so much shows how shitty a businessman he really is. Yeah, he managed to recoup a ton of money after a big loss - but someone claiming to be as good at business as Trump does wouldn't have lost that kind of money on bad investments in the first place.

My husband thinks he won't release his returns simply because he knows it'll undermine his persona of being some sort of business guru. His campaign has relied on that image to present him as a valid candidate because he'll create jobs (without offering any details on how of course). That goes out the window to a certain extent if his returns show otherwise. Plus, it's very likely he doesn't donate nearly as much to charity as he claims and that would make him look bad too.

@laPapessaGiovannaAnn Coulter is probably the worst spokesperson for the American public. Ever. Seriously. :pb_lol:

I think some Americans are actually interested in what his returns would show. Whether he actually donates to charity as much as he claims, whether he is as good a businessman as he says he is, what sort of deductions he takes, etc. Returns can actually tell you a great deal about what someone's life was like for that past year. It can give you good insight into who someone is. So I personally think it's important for candidates to share their returns.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/oct/02/donald-trump-federal-income-tax-new-york-times

Donald Trump responded on Sunday morning to a New York Times report that he may not have paid federal income tax for 18 years, tweeting: “I know our complex tax laws better than anyone who has ever run for president and am the only one who can fix them.”

Thank you to everyone who replied. I think that this is the part that I understand less. Probably because I am used to see much bigger sway of votes between different elections. I am not used to a system so polarized between two parties where only a limited number of voters is actually keen on changing their position. It keeps baffling me. Thank you for the explanation.

I guess the author of that article wasn't exaggerating.

From this video

http://newcenturytimes.com/2016/10/01/trump-supporters-just-declared-him-the-messiah-jesus-has-returned-video/

Quote

The interview then went from bizarre to absolutely crazy when one of the women literally refers to Trump as god, and basically their new Messiah. She says:

“We finally have this god that’s gonna come down and help us all.”

When the interviewer says, “you just referred to Trump as a god,” she reiterates:

“Yeah, he is.”

So, if you were looking for a level of crazy that completely blurs the line between satire and reality, there you have it. Trump supporters literally think he’s a god.

Just to add to the Ann Coulter discussion, she's one of those conservatives who would like to see the 19th Amendment repealed:

Quote

During an interview, Coulter opined, “If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.”
