Lori Alexander, 11: No Junk in Her Trunk Because She's Godly

Still no review up at amazon. The price is lower now. I bet she is taking the suggestions from here.

If she really took suggestions, she'd take down the drivel and go hide under a rock in order to learn something (anything.)  She's pretty much the worst "fundie" that I want to tell "Go get fucked."

Sorry for that language.  I just cannot stand that woman and her poor excuse of a husband.

Lori:

See how she slipped that in (it's in the comments).  The men won't cheat, *IF* their wives respect and love them.

So is she officially pinning the fault for Josh's affairs on Anna Duggar?

And is she admitting that Ken cheated? Because I don't see much love and respect from Lori towards Ken.

I just looked up her book on Amazon, and it states that it is temporarily out of stock.  That terrifies me - how many people would actually buy that crap?!?

Coming out of lurkdom to side eye Lori and her book.

Also, Emily has a picture on her FB were her "breasts are hanging out." Yet Lori doesn't chastise her. Hmm. (FTR, I think Emily looks totally gorgeous, it's just super hypocritical of Lori)

Part of me wants to read the book and part of me thinks it'll send me into another Lori emotional tailspin that I'll have to extract myself from. I'm hoping for a good recap here.

Some day I'll tell the story of how Lori got so under my skin a few months ago that it almost ruined my marriage.

To be fair, Lori has a definite standard where modesty is concerned.  It works like this:

-Lori can wear whatever the hell she wants and it's godly.

-Lori's daughters/DIL can also wear whatever the hell they want, and not only is it modest and godly, it's all thanks the the values The Godly Mentor instilled in them.  Matter of fact, Lori will go so far as to "like" the picture.

-Other women can wear whatever the hell they want, but they better believe Lori will be posting about what immodest prostitutes they are on her blog.  If they are "friends" of the family, she will even post their picture so her readers can join her in shaming them.

Make sense?  Hey, it ain't easy speaking for The God of the Universe, but somebody's gotta do it.

In all seriousness though, does anyone think she may be losing readers by switching sites?  She doesn't seem to be getting a lot of comments, and her posts are even more boring than usual.

Maybe LorKen had the sense to do a small print run?

Wait, that would require them to acknowledge that there *aren't* 5 million people lining up to read their drivel.

My thing is- if they're selling out, why lower the price?  That doesn't make sense....

I am also wondering if this whole book thing isn't going to bite them both in the ass.  They have said some WAYYYYYYYY out there things that are forever remembered by The Interwebz.  People may start Googling them now, and then what?  Are they going to threaten to sue Google again?  Remember, Ken doesn't think it's fair when people use "Google Tactics".

On the flip side, can you imagine if Lori was invited for speaking engagements, and got up on stage unfiltered?  The one time she got on the radio, it took her less that 2 minutes to tell the audience about Debbi Pearl "spanking her with her words".  Imagine her with a live mic. and a captive audience. :pb_confused:

Also, why are the reviews not showing up?  Someone here has already left a review, so where is it?  Surely The Godly Mentor doesn't have her finger on Amazon's delete key too...(just kidding, but seriously, where are the reviews?)

Not to belabor the point, but methinks this was written for people like Lori:

http://blogs.psychcentral.com/psychoanalysis-now/2016/09/the-psychology-of-a-fart/

And I can't help but wonder how many people will accidentally end up at this similarly named blog, realize the blogger is nicer than Lori and just stay there rather than go to the shrill shrew's new home. http://www.transformedwife.com/

eta: And is this review from her daughter in law, "EmilyA"???

This book is not for the faint of heart. If you are longing for an intimate marriage based on biblical principles, look no further! Lori Alexander tells it like it is and holds nothing back. Don't read if you want your ears tickled! In sharing her own struggles and mistakes and how God transformed her heart and mind, she calls Christian young women to fight for the marriage they have always dreamed of. I've been a fan of her blog for awhile and her book did not disappoint!

I can't roll my eyes hard enough. Shady AF.

A lot of self-publishers do print-on-demand, so you could run out easily. However, her Amazon ranking is under 20,000, which means some books actually are getting shipped. It's a respectable showing for a specialty market title. However, I'm guessing it was a mass buy by someone rather than individuals deciding they need her counsel. If different people were shopping around and choosing her title, we would see more under the "People who bought this also bought" category. I have some books on Amazon, and although they are anemic sellers they have several listings of other titles bought along with mine.

Maybe it will start showing up in orthodontist waiting rooms....

Well if Ken cheated it would certainly explain the mystery why she's giving the poor woman an out like that

Emily A, who wrote a glowing review of Lori's book, is indeed Lori's daughter in law, Emily Alexander. If you click on her name, then on her baby registry, you will see "Emily and Steven Alexander."

I am tempted to leave a comment saying that the reviewer is a member of Lori's family. Comments dont' need to be approved like reviews do.

I would do it. Where is their Christian ethics? Even if Amazon allowed it, its still shady to do that. Its not honest. Its like listing your mom as a reference for a job.

Why care about positive reviews if this isn't about money? The lord will draw women to her book if they need it. Not mere mortal words.

Especially since she's implying that she is just another blog reader rather than a family member.

And I really struggle to believe she's even a blog reader although who knows. Maybe her heart is just as ugly as Lori's.

Reagarding my review of the book:

- DANG IT!  The price went down after I bought it??  So help me; if I find it at Dollar Tree next month..... Eh. Just kidding.

- Should I start a new thread for the review so we can all find those comments more easily?

- There is a chance I won't be able to start tomorrow as I had hoped. My son-in-law is coming to town for a funeral and will be staying with us. He arrives tomorrow. I will likely get the first installment written before he gets in, but I will keep you all posted.

- I warned my husband about my "assignment" so he wouldn't get the wrong idea when he saw the book. Then I started telling him about Ken and Lori...how they think molestation is normal, a wife's anger over porn is a bigger sin than viewing porn...all that stuff. His response: "Good grief!  Who ARE these people?!?"

I'm very disappointed that your son-in-law is coming to stay, @usmcmom.  He is not being considerate at all!  My vote is for a separate thread for your review. And I add my thanks for taking on this task. I cannot wait for your comments!

Since Lori's already "gone viral,"  she can't have much left to say that makes any sense.  Not that she ever did...but I digress.

I'd enjoy reading "I Phones for Dummies (the Senior Version."  At least I'd learn something useful.

Only if the women are paid well.

Createspace is Amazon's print on demand wing - I don't think they can run out of stock, per se, but something might have made Lori pause the print run. (uploading edits? Not sure if that would do it.)

Ahh, I'd forgotten about print-on-demand. But wouldn't that mean you don't run out, because it's just printed when you order regardless?

Do it, please!  That is just wrong, not that we could expect anything different from these people.

@usmcmom I can't wait for your review but take as long as you need, it is quite a horrible thing you've signed up for and we are all super thankful.

@feministxtian is it possible your review (which I really want to read) isn't showing up because you don't have an approved purchase?  All the reviews I've left on amazon uk have required me to have bought the item, and from them.

Oh, it must be Halloween season again. (Who knew?)

Lori, the health nut, says,

Quote

Last year, I bought organic lollipops and handed them out to all the children. I would tell them that they didn’t need any more junk ...

Healthy lollipops! I've gotta see this!

The ingredients list:

Quote

Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Rice Syrup, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Natural Flavors, Black Carrot Juice from Concentrate, Black Currant Juice from Concentrate, Organic Carrot Juice from Concentrate, Organic Apple Juice from Concentrate, Organic Black Currant Juice from Concentrate, Turmeric, Organic Annatto

Um ... Lori?

Rice syrup has an unholy high glycemic index, and then there's the whole arsenic issue. http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodborneIllnessContaminants/Metals/ucm319870.htm   And cane sugar? It's just sugar with a different name. Organic doesn't make it a healthier kind of sugar for your body. You're still giving those kids junk. Which is fine because kids WANT junk. But pretending to be superior by saying it's not junk -- well, that's just silly.

If you really want to hop aboard the no-candy bandwagon ... Consider giving non-food, allergy-friendly alternatives, like glow sticks, stickers, bubbles, etc. You can even hand out packets of cider and hot cocoa (still sugary, but also a nice hot treat at the end of a cold night).

Bless you, @polecat.  A lot of that natural candy is nasty. Though I do have fond memories of when we were given umeboshi plum balls and sesame sticks, but that was by our parents, "trick or treating" in the house.  Once we were allowed to actually go out and trick or treat, we were allowed to eat whatever we got, despite the general dietary restrictions of the house.

I'll be the childless lady handing out full sized, name brand candy bars although we generally don't get more than a dozen kids, Halloween is only starting to be a thing here.  It's adorable seeing 12-14 year olds acting like 4-6 year old Americans, all bashful and super polite and trying to do it right.

Bubbles and glow sticks and stickers are a great idea!  But Lori would probably give them toothbrushes (actually I'm really surprised she doesn't, what with "molestation is no big deal and incest is normal" Ken being in the dental industry).

At least she's not giving them cups of salad with salmonella dressing.

She sounds so bloody boring. I get being healthy, but Halloween is only one night a year, and most parents (I hope) would not allow their kids to eat all the candy at once.
