Marjorie Writes a Book on Love

With Redbubble you only upload an image and position it on stock items that they print for you. On etsy you have to make the stuff and send it all by yourself. So redbubble is for people who are not crafty but may be artistic. I've used redbubble to get some of my art pieces put onto mugs and notepads and that sort of thing. Once you upload an image you can leave it tagged and then anyone can buy an item with the design and you can earn a very small part of the profit. If you do seel a lot of stuff it's very little work for your money.

Am I wrong for giving Marjorie praise again?

For a girl who just graduated high school, she seems to have a pretty firm head on her shoulders.  She's working a fast-food job (as many her age do), writing a book, and now has an online store.

I'll take that over the next Duggar wife (and pregnant) any day.  She dodged a bullet.

I'm russian so the names aren't an issue. For me the problem is the funky translations. Like I know it would make sense in Russian but the English translations don't make sense.

100 times this! I'm Ukrainian and read it in Ukrainian and then again in English and it almost felt like a whole different book the way the translations were.

Exactly! My relatives have read books in Russian and Ukrainian and they're like I can't even imagine how bad the translations are. Like try translating Pushkin or Chekhov so that any of it makes sense lol

Thanks. So a bit like CafePress?  But this means if you buy one of Marge's items, you aren't getting her actual hand-lettering--you are getting a printed copy of it?

I agree that Marjorie dodged a HUUUUGE bullet by ending her courtship with Josiah. Not that I don't have a soft spot for Josiah--but I think it is best for both of them they aren't engaged or hitched by now.

My hope for Marjorie? That she marries a nice, fundy-lite man. Josiah would not have been right for her, for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that his family doesn't believe in pants for women or employment for women outside the home.

The thing is, in other fundy families - the Keller's, even the Bates' when a child marries, there are many of them who seem to have moved to less strict values and beliefs. The Duggar Kidults do not seem to be able to do the same, so marrying Josiah would have put her in a position where she would have had no choices.

Yeah it would be a print of her work. If she scanned an original hand written piece it would be like printing that out. Most people I know who use redbubble do it so they can get their designs on t-shirts or mugs and things like that. I know you can get the stuff on canvases but with handmade art it seems silly to have your work printed onto a canvas. I had a lino cut print that I thought would look amazing on one of those big scarfs, but I don't have the access or ability to print a scarf myself so I was able to use redbubble to get the pattern I designed printed onto a scarf. If Marjorie is using it to sell her calligraphy I think I'd rather have the hand written piece than the mass printed version, but that's up to her, she may do an etsy too at some point. Rebbubble is a good way to test if there's a market for your designs, there's no cost so there's no skin off your own nose if no one buys anything and it does let you make things for yourself, friends and family that can't be bought in shops.

I love talking about books, I've got about 1000 of them crammed into my tiny 1 bedrom flat.

My favourite books are the Harry Potter ones. I basically finish the series and then go straight back to the Philosiphers Stone and start again. I'm also mad on history books and biographies, I'm currently reading Marie Antoinette's biography.

Those who have read the Sweet Valley High books, check out this website - https://thedairiburger.com/the-full-list/ it's all the books reviewed in a snarky hilarious way.

Nooooo I love stuff like this! If anyone needs me I'll be doing this the rest of the night. To spread some evil rabbithole-type site, here is one that reviews every episode of Full House and Fuller House, also very funny. https://therealfullhousereviewed.wordpress.com/2010/03/

Oh my goodness; that was my adolescent guilty pleasure! But now I get why they call romance novels "female porn"; that was that for me too. Holee; even if no one had sex then, Jessica could SO easily be called a slut in fundie-world. And sometimes even Elizabeth was. I used to wonder, if they were real, which one of them would be more likely to accept Jesus as Savior. Jessica got sucked into a cult once, but Elizabeth has higher morals(or so it seems). But, of course, because they never aged them really, they couldn't get one of them pregnant, lol.

Candace Cameron Buree(sp?) out with girlfriends getting really drunk, wearing revealing clothing and dancing to rhythmic music, defrauding two men; Kimmie Kibler declining to remarry her headship--what is the world coming to?

Fuller House was a lot more mature and progressive (well, relatively) than I expected!!! They even drink alcohol, make our with coworkers (DJ did), and Steph partied a bunch (one episode she came home in the morning wearing clothes from the previous day and DJ asked if it was a walk of shame, Steph said no shame and she took an Uber).

I mean, it's still a ridiculous turd of a show, but it was genuinely funny at times and I loved it anyway.

It definitely had its moments. Kimmy was the star though, lbr.... The rest of them? Meh. And go away, Steve.

I swear I always arrive at the HP discussions too late! I love HP and have read it several times through. Each time I read it there is some theme or idea I missed the other times. I get why the one poster doesn't really like the characters though. Honestly Ron, Hermoine, and Harry often get on my nerves. I can't tell you the number of times I just want to tell Ron to stop being a whiny asshole...or Hermoine to stop being so arrogant and just believe what Harry is saying because he is *almost* always right. But I still find myself drawn to them and engulfed in the story and I love learning about the other characters- especially when Harry gets to jump into other people's memories.

Another series I saw mentioned that I just finished about a week ago is Unwind. The whole series is addictive and disturbing. Just when I thought the author used all shock value, I get to the final book and my jaw is hanging open for a good chapter or two. Definitely recommend, I have never read anything else like it.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS that was me. I haven't known anyone else who has read it and I always want to talk about it. I read it a while ago and it really stuck with me. REALLY stuck with me. I half want them to make it a movie, but am nervous they might botch it. But I'm not sure they will. I think it'd be too disturbing if they did it right and they might be hard-pressed to keep it at just pg13

I think it would make a very interesting movie series but yeah keeping it PG13 may be difficult. I was talking books with my husband's 14 year old sister and I wanted to recommend this series but then thought maybe not...it's almost hard to believe it's a YA book. And while it has it's fair share of violence, the most disturbing and upsetting parts are in the way society is so accepting of Unwinding, the way certain religions worship it, and how nobody questions it or even stops to think about what exactly they are doing.

Steve was so incredibly creepy the whole time. Stalker stuck in high school. And agreed that Kimmy is the best.

Im going to have to agree with the PPs who said she dodged a bullet by not marrying into the Donkey Show. I was perusing IG the other night and saw her (public) profile showing several pics of her in pants and shorts, and doing non-Duggar things. It made me want to shed a proud mama tear for her and be all, "Whew, girl, that was close!" I hope she has much success in whatever pursuits suit her.
