JB first notified of the incidents on 3/2002- according to the above^, JB would have been running for re-election at this time.

JB brought Josh in the following year 3/2003, when he was again notified of an incident.

FF- 2006, JB had just been defeated in his race, and case was being investigated.

Such weird timing.

I don't think anybody in this family has any business being back on TV ministering to people about raising godly children, homeschooling to inculcate biblical values and protecting kids from heathens online when it is these very beliefs that cultivated an environment that facilitated abuse, it is these beliefs that the parents used as an excuse to hide the fact that their son molested his own sisters, and it is these beliefs that these repulsive excuses for humans used to accuse the LGBT community of child molestation.

Sometimes the law is asinine. IMO there shouldn't be a statute of limitations when it comes to sex crimes especially when children are involved.

Educate and job train, provide what JB and M refused to provide, an avenue for children to grow up to become independent, contributing members of society.

More and more advertisers are pulling the plug on advertising during the show.

In addition to General Mills and Wallgreens:

I'm sure there are even more advertisers that have yet to make a decision, but I'm sure this is setting a precedence. If TLC is dumb enough to bring back 19KAC, who's going to advertise during it? Hobby Lobby is the only one that comes to mind.

I saw the posts above about a possible spin-off. I wonder how any of those companies would feel about it. Would they advertise during a spin-off?

Yes, what Josh did was horrible, but trying to interview him as he walked with his small children is not appropriate. He absolutely deserves all the bad press he's getting, his kids are innocent. That interview attempt was hurting them more than him and that's not OK :naughty: . There needs to be an element of responsible reporting here and an awareness of not hurting innocents more than they've already been hurt :pull-hair:

Also, really this was less about the "rules" per se and more about people's general tone toward new members and commenting in general. We may have people with new information about the Duggars or Gothard who come to this forum for the first time and feel too afraid to comment or speak out because honestly the tone has been pretty hostile.

I don't want new members to feel unwelcome either, but they really need to read the rules and get a feel for our board culture. As for the bolded, I'm pretty sure Free Jinger members would love to hear from them. Bring receipts if you have them and we will be all over your story! Fundie insiders are some of our favorite people, especially if they've stopped drinking the Kool-Aid.

Naturally, there are folks here with many different temperaments and opinions and they sometimes collide.

Remember when Kate's show was about to be cancelled? She told the kids, big bad people are trying to cancel the show and it means no more vacations, special seats at events, big birthday parties and you kids will never see all your crew friends. She told them they might lose there house and wouldn't be able to go to the same school.

I can see Jim Bob telling the family, the devil or evil is trying to get rid of the show and its ministry. He will have the kids pray to save the show because the ministry of the show is helping so many of the lost souls that have abortions and dress immodestly. I can't see Jim Bob agreeing to let the girls speak their minds or have a spin off. Maybe he would agree to the first 4-5 episodes to surround just Jessa and her baby and Dilly family updates with little from the TTH. After that slowly phase in the rest of the family. Jim bob's said a few months ago when the LGBT were trying to cancel the show that his show is number one and it wasn't going away. He is not leaving the show unless it is 100% cancelled.

You definitely said it better than I did. If a new poster has insider information we really would love to hear it - so long as they are able to at least point us in the right direction so we can verify it.

ETA: Also, I know that there is a TON of information on this forum to try and wade through for new posters - as well as the other forums too. I'd suggest anyone wanting to know more about Fundies in general start looking through the "Families & Individuals" forum. Click on a family that sounds interesting and start reading. Or you could try "Religions & Belief Systems" or "Quiverfull of Snark." And if you have a question regarding something you can ask - either in a relevant forum or by sending a private message to someone that may know more.

They were never in that picture to being with. No airbrushing. They just were not present when it was taken. Joseph isn't in it either.

Wow, cannot keep up with this thread. You all are too fast for me. A few days ago, I thought I had accomplished something when I finished part 1, only to learn there were 3 more 40-plus page threads to read. lol

I have watched the Duggar trainwreck ever since the 14 Kids and Pregnant Again special, and I've loved to watch because of the snark factor (although it's been getting very boring the last 2 to 3 years, even with the courtships and marriages). And I never thought I'd see the day where I'd want this show to end, but Josh has made it happen. Get these harmful people off my TV. Make them have to get "real" jobs. I wanna see how Ben is gonna fare having to work now that his cash cow may be ending. At least Derrick has a degree and a career.

Don't think so. That pic is one of the TLC promo pics taken at the same time as the one with Jessa and Jill holding the "I Do".."I'm Due" chalkboards. It's likely that the other's weren't there when the photo's were taken. :)

I really doubt Jill or Jessa would agree to do the show without their parents' blessing or involvement. Even if JB/Michelle never made an on-screen appearance, they'd probably have some backstage role in the show. Reason #9847539847 I'd hate any spinoff that wasn't about a Duggar renouncing their faith.

I can't see what is left to be spun-off profitably for anyone.

Viewers will now want inside information on the abuse from the older Duggar offspring, not more fakey happy family stuff, which would not be in their personal interests to sell.

I'm from DC so I immediately recognized that they were walking through the airport. Based on the surroundings it looks like they checked their luggage and are heading towards airport security. My guess is they're heading to Arkansas. He can't really avoid being seen in public with the kids if the whole family is flying some where together.

ETA: I do agree it's inappropriate to question him about the allegations while he's with his kids, especially holding one. I'd imagine the M'kids really don't know what's going on, though they've likely picked up on the fact that mommy and daddy are upset.

I have know idea.

2) Did TLC know?

I feel pretty strongly that Oprah didn't contact TLC. I think she is very much about doing right. She received the information, she relayed it to the proper authorities who would not have informed her on the outcome of their investigation and then she most likely left it there so as not to pass along gossip. I do think the original "outer" probably contacted TLC.

3) Did the Kellers and Anna really know what Josh had done, when Pa Keller hand-picked him for Anna?

I think the Keller's reaction was probably similar to what we see from the leghumpers here. The Duggars probably glossed over the more sordid details and the Keller's heard the words "closer to God" and it was all erased.

4) Are the Kellers and/or the Seewalds truly supportive?

I think the Keller's have to be or else they have to think about what they set their daughter up for. I don't think the other inlaws really have the latitude to speak out now. I hope they privately are supporting the daughters and focusing on them. I don't see how snubbing the Duggers or taking them on would not be upsetting to Jessa and Jill.

5) Will the "show go on" in some form or another?

I think CBN or another Christian broadcaster will jump on the chance to buy the old episodes cheap and maybe create a new incarnation but I hope TLC just cuts their losses.

It will be interesting. Unfortunately JB&M are millionaires now so they can probably help out Ben for a looooong time. It will be super interesting IMO if they don't and Ben and Jessa, and Jill and Derrick have to fend for themselves financially.

Yes he can. Anna has travelled with the three kids by herself before. He can leave her to take the kids through security to the gate and then join her there.

There are actual posst on the duggars fb stating e x a c t l y that this is all statans work. Really. I posted a link to recoveringgrace yesterday; I don´t even know how fast it has been deleted. Someone must be quite busy theses days pressing the delete button. On the instagram accounts on the other hand, Jill, Derrick and Jessa do not seem to care. On Derricks account there is a really natsy üerson beeing just rude and curle. I wish I could delete this guy (At least yesterday when I checked).
