Be sure to check out their new referral program, Ramp it Up!

If you refer a friend, that person will get $20 off the enrollment fee. You'll get $20 off your next class. What a deal!!!!

Oh, and don't get cute and think you can cash in that $20 credit. Read the fine print, heathen! They will NEVER pay you to take a class. You can ONLY use it for a credit towards a class.

They even give several examples of how this works, in case you are too stupid to understand what $20 back, and $20 credit means. As well as a handy dandy email example you can send to your friend.

And yes, family counts as friends, so don't worry if you have no friends because you're not allowed to have any.

From the title I was afraid they had recorded a new gospel CD and Trust end Obeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh would be supplanted by something scary like Will the Circle Be Unbroken, which is pretty much what this family will never be.

(I know run-on sentence-I'm pissed today, the hub quit his job because the Israeli boss is an asshole and unreasonable, and I still don't have the 1099 for 2013==== sorry)

So did I, I was bracing my ears for a shrieking new remix of Daddy on His Knees. Whoever told Anna she could sing (Steve) did her a disservice.

Is it just me, or has Nathan possibly been making an idol out of working out? :naughty: He looks...um...noticeably more buff than he used to. Particularly in the pregnancy announcement pic wearing that striped shirt.

He used to have a Facebook page that "liked" a few gym and fitness pages.

I wonder how he dealt with the ads for extramarital dating and porn that appear on the pages of all men that age that I know of. Do they still appear if you identify yourself to Facebook as Christian?

I just went to the ITonRamp webpage for the first time in several months. There's a banner with the five Maxwell sons plus Steve. I know that Nathan started the business with his father, and then Christopher joined in with periodic sessions from John. But now, it looks like all the Maxwell sons joined in the project. Is it possible the ITOnRamp business is really taking off? I mean, if Nathan wasn't getting any business, the brothers wouldn't bother with their setting up their own classes, right? It looks like business is pretty well if they are expanding it. Perhaps we've underestimated the demand for online computing classes for conservative, Christian families. Despite the expenses, it appears families are willing to pay the extra fee for online tutoring.

My objection with ITOnRamp is not with the price per se. It's that they're offering lessons which can easily be acquired from books and cheaper CC courses. I can believe small group classes costing in to the thousands but that would only be worth it if the subject matter was esoteric or taught at an elite level. The Maxwells sell their classes as teaching in a "Christ-centered" environment and one which "protects" the student from such horrible things as mingling with heathens. I hardly consider that worth the extra money.

Then again, with their conferences winding down, ITOnRamp may be the future of the Maxwell family business. Who knows? Maybe they hit upon a niche market for the fundie crowd. They could milk it for a few years. At least with these sessions, while they're charging ignorant fundie families, they are imparting real lessons Their conferences are a switch and bait. They advertise it as a wholesome, musical evening session filled with homeschooling tips, where in actuality, it's one big ad for their products. ITOnRamp offers a honest (if overpriced) product.

I just realized what they are doing! Fundie wife hunting!!!! It cost them next to nothing to run a "class". They own the computers, have internet and computer manuals. They can make $$$ with just a few students in each class. Now, each "boy" that takes a class probably has several sisters at home. Sister likes has it laid on her heart they she should meet xxx instructor and asks has God lay it on her Fathers heart to arrange a meeting.... :?

Or they are expanding it because the other money making opportunities are dwindling away like snow in the sunshine. Maybe Steve is trying to position 1Ton as a large company with many employees as a way of "proving" its success. It really costs nothing to involve the others but to the casual observer a company with 6 employees looks more important than one with 2.

I am hoping that this endeavor fails miserably because I want the boys -- and even the girls-- to be forced out into the world to earn a living. The only way they can escape Steve's Cult of the Damned is to make money somewhere else that he cannot control.

Interesting that the 'rampitup' web site shows images of girls in jeans and a guy in shorts. Is this to appeal to a wider customer base or did Stevie not notice when he approved the images?

I wonder how long the images will remain? Hi Stevie :naughty:

It was put on Davey's heart to comment:

Hi

What a great idea. I am hoping to take my first ITonRamp course later in the year.

What a blessing to find Christian IT courses.

David

But Davey also wrote that once he had taken the course he would rampITup with his best friend Rob. This part was edited by Stevie.
