Ex-Gay Pride Month organizer DL Foster is once again comparing gay rights supporters to slave owners, arguing in a blog post that Christians who support gay rights are just like Christians who opposed abolition, integration and women’s suffrage because they are all driven by making money.

“If the progay clerics and organizations and [sic] had any intellectual honesty, they would inform their followers that they are part of a longstanding tradition of lying for financial gain,†Foster writes. “American slaveowners [sic] did it, the anti-suffragists did it, the jim crow racists did it and the pro homosexual apostate church is doing it.â€

So I doubt pro-gay Christian leaders are pro-gay because they stand to profit from it. But even when it comes to people who violate their principles for profit like, for example, a politician allowing the exploitation of environmentally sensitive land in exchange for campaign donations...I would never compare them to slave owners because that would imply that polluting a patch of forest is as bad as slavery. Which is disrespectful. Just as it's disrespectful to compare same sex marriage to slavery.
