I am waiting so very impatiently for the wedding pictures!! Amanda is such a beautiful girl and Mama Munck has such a creative decorating style, the wedding was no doubt beautiful. I'm also very curious to see how fundie the event was. I really like the Muncks and I'm interested to see if they or their children drift away from fundamentalism, especially since Elizabeth's almost wedding. One can hope, right?

I believe the wedding was the 15th. I'm guessing they are waiting until the happy couple returns from their honeymoon before posting pictures. They probably want them to see them first. If she gets knocked up on their honeymoon, Mom & daughter could be pregnant at the same time. :?

I bet they had nice food, they always celebrate with such nice food, I'd like to see the dress and the menu. And the bridesmaids. And the bouquet : )

Yep, she was married on the 15th. Who gets married on a Wednesday, and what kind of reception could they possibly have had when everyone has to get up for work the next day?

I wish her the best. Teenage marriage can be hard. I hope to god that she and the guy she married see the error of her parents fundamentalist ways.

I had the same thought.

Well, it's likely that they just had a punch and cake reception, so the lack of serious partying opportunity on a Wednesday night would not have been incongruent.

It seems selfish. They shouldn't have put people in that position. People will attend because they feel obligated to, but they feel like crap the next day because they are exhausted. It's not right.

I went to a church function on a Wednesday night a couple of weeks ago. There was not serious partying. We just ate and had fun talking. But it was a bitch to function the next day because it got over late the night before.

I'm guessing the wedding wasn't any later than 6pm, over by 6:45pm (as long as there was no preaching of death and all), punch and cookies in the Fellowship Hall at the church, and the newlyweds were outta there no later than 8pm so they could go discover what sex was all about.

Hopefully they are figuring it out on their honeymoon. I can't wait to hear where they went.

I also can't wait to see pictures of all of this stuff. They seem to do great things for B-days!! I bet they will do big things for a wedding!

I'm just hoping they didn't reuse everything they bought for Liz, and Amanda got to have the wedding she wanted.

Agree!! I do think they seem like the type of parents who would allow Liz to pick out her own stuff.

I thought they might have done a weekday wedding for cost reasons? They did have her shower at a restaurant, which surprised me because money or not a lot of people have showers at homes. I can see Mom Munck wanting her daughter to have more then just a punch and cake reception at a church hall and maybe a weekday is the only way to do that? The family gave Amanda their living room furniture so I think they really want her to have a decent start.

I'm dying to see the pictures of the wedding but more curious about where they are going to live(I think I read it is about an hour away?) and what he or they will do for employment.

I also have to say mom Munck looks great for being in her 40's and 3rd trimester with baby 12.

I don't think they made Amanda use the things they had for Elizabeth. They take so much care to make each birthday special, it seems unlikely that they wouldn't do that for a wedding.

I've worked at a super mainstream catering hall where we had tons of weddings, and plenty of those were on weekdays and Sunday nights.

I don't know why people would choose that besides the fact that weekdays are cheaper. It slowed down in the middle of July though. Maybe some people are really desperate to have a May/June wedding?

Any Jewish wedding I've been to was on a weeknight, with the reception often Saturday night after sundown. So I don't think the Muncks are the only ones celebrating in the middle of the week. They don't drink or dance, so I can't imagine the reception going late anyway.

It seems their internet has been on the fritz, but they are expecting repair people sometime today (prob between 8 and 12 or 1 and 5 lol) and will post the wedding pictures when they have a connection.

**oh btw Mother Munck, please when designating quantity use toO, not to. Thank you.

I got married mid-week, and the reception was over by 9pm - partly because we got the venue for free and that was their restriction, partly because we just wanted cake and wine and some socialising rather than a late-night sit down dinner/dancing affair. All of the guests were local (with the exception of a couple of family members), so they were home before bedtime on a school night.

If I had it to do again I would have cake, finger sandwiches and champagne. Everyone toasts, chats and goes home. No band, no sit down dinner, no drunken dancers. Pretty flowers, though and some jazz playing in the background.

There are very few people who I would take off work for so it's unlikely I'd attend a weekday wedding unless it was after 6pm. I don't get nearly enough vacation time to burn a day to attend someone else's event. If it's after 6pm I'd be the old fogie who came, saw, gave congrats and went home. I am too old to stay up past my bedtime on a work night, even if there isn't partying going on.

I'm sure it was lovely and fine for them. I'm also sure they had a small guest list and there was no 'partying'. Maybe cake and punch in the church basement afterwards.

Well, I hope her quiver stays empty for a little while, at least maybe long enough for her to revert back to mainstream culture like her parents used to be. Fundie weddings make me sad that the prospect of even more babies being born just to be beaten, neglected, and indoctrinated. Even if the Muncks aren't quite as bad as the Maxwells, they're still not the place for a baby to be raised in a healthy way.
