SAHD Writes Anti-Abortion Short Story

Comedy gold! The writing is horrendous, not to mention how factually inaccurate the whole story is.

Sounds as if this R.N. earned her degree at the Duggar's School of Dumbass. The degreed R.N. that works in a abortion clinic has no idea what a 12 week fetus looks like? A tissue? All I could picture is a Kleenex rolling around up in there.

Anybody else chuckle when the writer tried to make it appear that everyone working in the evil death trap abortion clinic was mean and cranky and worshiped the devil while everyone working at the crisis center had super, awesome and cheerful attitudes with God in their hearts? And yes, the doctor should be giving the R.N. a bad reference. She was constantly late to her job, had a horrible attitude to her boss and other staff, and quit without notice.

What a load of horse shit.

I miss writing fanfiction. If I wasn't so damn rusty, I'd be tempted to write a little tale about a fundie volunteering at a pregnancy crisis center who gradually becomes pro-choice as she is exposed to various pregnant women who need more help than a couple of onsies and some diapers or a pamphlet on adoption.

Guest stars would include a pregnant teen being pressured by her parents to have and keep the baby but who knows that she won't be able to finish high school and escape grinding poverty if she does, a rape victim who feels the pregnancy is a continuation of her violation and is spiraling into a deep depression because of it, a mother of three who is already living in a woman's shelter with her children and will have to go back to her abusive husband if there is another child in the picture to support, a foster care social worker advocating for a pregnant 11 year old, and a young married couple who are already mentally, emotionally, and financially overwhelmed with caring for a severely disabled child.

De-rail. But what kind of fanfiction?

This story just has the vibe of, "I'm a special snowflake sent by God to tell the rest of you women that when you're pregnant, you should ALL enjoy it and not want an abortion, and I'm not anti-women because I used to work at an abortion clinic and I didn't even research this topic from a non religious/pro-life pov!" vibe. I wonder how the folks a fictionpress would view this piece of shit.

 Awesome. Fanfic was my first internet love. Scifi type. I loved all the slash fic even though I will never get over my two favourite male characters from a particular show having an 'ass baby.'

I almost feel like visiting Fanfiction.Net. But there again

Some amazingly good writers out there. Some amazingly shite ones also

I am a little surprised she didnt delve into and develop.some abortion patients. You know, the naive innocent pre teens brought their by their incestuous stepdads, the five month pregnant lady having her fourth late term abprtion cuz she didnt want a girl, the one having an abortion so shed look good in a bikini for.vacation that summer, etc.

In order for this.to be good, she'd have to do*research*. Which means she would have to talk to a nurse that has assisted in abortions. There is no way her parents would allow her such exposure, so.she had to drum up the character from her limited perspective. And man, let me.say, her gilded little cage of a life makes me pity her.

Awesome. I'd totally want to read that. Bibleslash - Is that a thing?

Valsa, was it about Jonathan and David?

I think if you want to write a story on something, you need to actually do the research. She obviously didnt because a nurse who works at an abortion clinic should know how fetuses develop.

I go way into researching for my stories, the problem is that I dont finish them very often because I get other ideas.

I'm pretty sure Haley pictures kleenex too. I really think she actually doesn't know the difference between fetal/biological tissue and puffs with lotion. SOTDRT FTW :?

You know what guys? I'm really glad that she posted that on the internet. Reading it has completely changed my mind on abortion. She's right. We're all wrong. Her brilliant prose proves it. Wow... the depth of that story touched my soul. Save the babies!!!!

Sci fi is always fun. I started writing for various anime shows, back when that was super popular. I did return to reading for a while when the 2009 Star Trek movie came and again when I recently got into Sherlock and Teen Wolf (don’t judge me…)

LOL @ mpreg. Not one of my personal kinks, though not enough to scare me. Then again, the first slash fic I ever read (at 13 years old, to boot) involved rimming and a prehensile alien tongue so I suppose that if that wasn't enough to send me running, nothing is.

Which sci fi shows?

Bibleslash is definitely a thing. There wasn't much of it back when I was writing fic but there actually seems to be more now (I blame Supernatural!)

Actually, it was Satan/Adam. All my stories had Satan in them for some reason (guess I wanted to fly my heathen flag proudly) I also started a femslash fic with Eve, Lilith, and female!Satan and I had extensive notes for a God/Satan fic where Jesus was essentially their love-child and a Satan/Jesus fic, but I never got around to writing them before I stopped having time to write

Star trek. Next Gen mainly and DS9. Sexy times with Odo the shapeshifter led to some quite amazing fic

Stargate SG1 and BSG. I did try and read some Twilight fic but sadly it was actually better than the books.

 You are probably correct.

I read the story again and found it funnier the second time around. Apparently, Haley thinks clinics crank out abortions like a factory, doctors use plastic gloves, and nursing is such a limited field that this poor, poor nurse had no other choice than to work for the evil Doc Owens. The only thing missing from this story is a unicorn showing up to take the suddenly empowered nurse off into the sky.

I hope whoever graded it gave it an F. Especially the font, that was horrible.

It doesn't look like it. This was in the comments:

Hey Andrew, did you catch that this was a school assignment and that Haley is 17? Yeah, so...I guess that would explain the fact that it sounds "juvenile". I agree that speaking with a former abortion clinic nurse would have been beneficial, but as she had little time to complete this assignment, I still gave her a good grade. ~Haley's Mom

Why the fuck does she have "little time" to do a homeschool assignment? I guess doing it right isnt part of the curriculum? Wouldnt want her to, you know, actually LEARN something...

I was clicking around on her blog and came across a list of questions and answers. This is question 2:

2. If you could go back in time to assassinate one person, which of the following men people would you assassinate: Joseph Smith, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, the Prophet Mohammed, 'Other' (pick someone not mentioned), or none of the above? Why?

I would pick none of the above. Because assassinating someone is against God's law. I would be committing murder if I could assassinate any of those evil men.

What the what?! Is this a thing now? Random Christian murder fantasies.

stopandsmelltheroseshere.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/another-set-of-eleven-things.html

ETA: I know she said she wouldn't assassinate any of those 'evil men' because murder is 'against God's law', it's the question that's shocking.

I like how they had to explain the "other" option.

Sure, its juvenile because it was a school assignment....but at 17, it should be better written than that.

My cousin's freshman English class did NaNoWriMo. I would almost bet you that any of those stories would be better than Haley's.

Does she even know who Joseph Smith and Mohammed were? Personally, I think if I could go back in time and murder someone I'd pretty much assume I had carte blanche considering I, you know, went back in time which tends to imply some sort of divine concession.
