I'm glad she's out from under the influence of the cult and has the chance to choose her own path in life, whatever it may be. That's my wish for all of these kids/youths from similar backgrounds. I hope her little brothers, the Duggarlings, Bates, Maxwells, Jeubs, and all the rest have the same opportunity to choose their own lives.

Almost as amusing as the courses, is how they categorize them

Under "Communication"

COM 221 Ham Radio Technician Class License granted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) covering basic regulations, operating practices, and electronics theory, with a focus on VHF and UHF applications. (1)

COM 222 Ham Radio General Class license granted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) covering intermediate regulations, operating practices, Morse code, and electronics theory, with a focus on HF applications. (1)

COM 223 Ham Radio Extra Class license granted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) covering some of the more obscure regulations, specialized operating practices, advanced electronics theory, and radio equipment design.(2)

I'm fascinated by this thread.

First, to Suze: congratulations. May you happily bear as many babies as you want - your formerly-fundie uterus belongs to you and you alone. I hope this relationship works out and that you live happily ever after.

Second, to Suze or her reasonable facsimile/advocate: I am amazed that anyone with a Master's Degree is unable to correctly spell "Bachelors" (or many other words). I would pay money to read that Master's thesis. I'm awestruck with wonder - is it about magnets and how they work? Is it about the effects of sockpuppetry/meatpuppetry on social media? The mind boggles.

In the end, I blame the parents. For all of it.

I totally agree. I will add, from what we've seen here on FJ, leaving a cult takes a bit more self discovery than two BFs and omigod I'm having a baby, eleventy!! I just wish she had more time in the RW on her own, to develop and formulate a sense of self and independence before having a child. I admire her rebellion. And of course she loves him she's having his baybee. She has no other choice but to have the child and keep it or adopt it out.

Vast vocabulary makes me laugh and as stated beforehand I have been typing on a phone. Glad to see you care for her well being and no this is not suze. And agreed the parents are truelly to blame.

I had to order a new battery for my Riobi. I do suggest it if you have small hands. But gosh I love my sawsall:)

With regards to this 'university' most of the courses they offer can be had for free (CPR etc) the majority that they list under trades are all skills and trainings offered through vocational/trade tech schools. Most too are available through trades apprentice programs. Apprentice programs offered by trade unions are difficult to get into since students will be rigorously tested for admission.

This is a for profit diploma mill. If I had more time left on this blue marble, and no ethics, I would figure out a way to bilk fundies with a faux university like this one.

riffle due to lack of beer and increasing heat.

Thanks for the tip! I do have small hands. I had my heart set on a rather generic Black & Decker, but after some quick googling for Ryobi, I'm all set for DIY porn and wishlists for a while. I really, really want the Lithium Ion Drill/Driver. What an absolute beauty!

*hands over her bottle of pinot grigio blush* I was going to say something semi-reasonable about apprenticeships vs university degrees, but then I lost my train of thought, at the bottom of a glass of wine. Feel free to share my wine and chilly weather, though.

Samuri I sent you a pm so as not to hijack the snark.

Back on topic, so we still don't know who our poster is, except she has a Duggar habit of driving while texting. Bless her heart.

Just a proud soon to be father, who yes, has a bad habbit of texting/replying while driving. I meant no harm by my replies, and in stand completly agrees with all that the free Jinger stands for ;)

Clearly your male headship failed you in preparing you to be a godly SAHD...

...says the woman who wants a power-drill for her birthday ;)

You wouldn't be saying that if you know of the time I asked for a vacuum for my birthday! Of course a year later I asked for screwdrivers so I could do my own fixing jobs.

Congrats to you and Susanna. It takes a lot to leave a cult and begin to form a normal life. Hope that you guys are able to get your happily ever after because she definitely deserves it.

Perhaps that's why I'm not successful in my marriages/relationships. I see no reason in asking. If i need a tool I do the research and buy it.

If it's a girl I'll make her a bacon bra.

Visit often, walk softly and love without condition.

Normally I would have bought it myself, but I was unemployed and couldn't afford it myself.

Just got back from driving alone - in my very own car - to the hardware store to pick up random car items which I will install myself using only the info my vagina permits me to know...Anywho, on the wall behind the checkout counter were the different kinds of leatherman's and Swiss Army knives available which, of course, got me wondering which one would be more useful for me and I shall - all by my lonesome - do the research and make a decision. But alas, I know whichever one I choose will be the wrong one because I don't have a penis to help me decide. Damn my vagina!

ETA: I'm going with a Leatherman; I want the pliers function.

I'm not even going to ask about whether he permitted you access to funds or financial decision making. Being employed has little to do with it. If there was money in the 'budget' for him to purchase the gift for you, there were sufficient funds for you to buy it on your own.

I hope Suze and the former "batchler" are planning on sending the baby to public school to get an education.

Otherwise the kid's going to grow up thinking that it's normal for people to express themselves in the following manner:

lol you guys are a WHOOT. I just want totell the truthness thats why im here. But if your gunna talk SHIT about my parrents then im done with you OK. BTW I got my digree in heavenlie embroidery but if this dose'nt make sense I just have a bad habbit of typing on a phone is why.

Except it was my parents I asked and the money they spent was theirs not mine. Unemployed, unmarried, and while still living at home, wholly responsible for myself and my own finances which my female incompetence informed me were better spent on paying my own bills.

To the bold: your words and your words alone.

Point of information, the subject was folks in relationships and not dependents.
