Are Fundies Into Charity Or Fasting

I've noticed that the Arndt family runs a church that seems to have no charity activities, except for a "community outreach" softball game that appears to actually be a fund raiser for their own activities.

I've also never seen a mention of fasting by any of these fundy families (seems the Duggar son could use some of that).

I'm just wondering if charity and/or fasting are not normally done in the fundy community?

I don't think fasting is mainstream in America Christianity.

I suppose it depends on the church. Both were pretty big in the churches I went to (Evangelical, not fundie). I really disagree with fasting, though.

Catholics are big into fasting on certain days. I fast once a year for Jewish holidays, other than that I need my cake.

Some Catholics also fast before Mass. I think some branches of the Orthodox churches also have fasts.

I im to an assembly of god and they believe with fasting comes miracles. They think you can get a whole new level of spirituality that you cant necessarily get with reading your bible. It is about resisting temptation to see what you want to see... What did Jesus do before his ministry began? He prayed and fasted and was tempted by the devil. Praying and fasting are big im my church.
