Gretchen going to conference at last

Recommended Posts

Little Pink House blogger is attending a blogging conference. Taking her son with her, but leaving husband and daughters at home. A while back, she blogged about wanting to go to a conference but her husband not granting her permission. He must have changed his mind this time.

Apparently it's a Christian women's blogging conference. Maybe the "roommates" are chaperones. I looked at the pictures on the conference site and I saw a tank top. Quite defrauding, if you ask me.

I saw that! Glad she finally is getting to go--wonder why her headship changed his mind? For background, here's the old thread on how Gretchen's husband shut down her previous request to go to a conference, for no apparent reason, and she claimed she "wouldn't have wanted to go without him anyway" (uh-huh, of course): http://freejinger.yuku.com/topic/1589/L ... qNVQnG5g7A .

Really! I've never met her before but she's friends with the gal that I'm going with and she needed a room. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. They'll probably really hate me by the end of the weekend though.... I snore. Really really badly.

So Gretchen leaves her husband and two kids under the age of four (bringing the infant with her) to go to a conference on the other side of the country:

And Ashleigh leaves her husband and two kids aged five and three to go to London and Paris, when she's pregnant enough that she starts to show during the trip:

But the two Botkinettes, who have neither husbands nor children, can't possibly go to Egypt because they have to be 'Mission Control' and learn HTML, while writing all about boyszomg!!!1!!1111:

Got it.

persuaded, how was the conference? And what was Gretchen like in person? :)

Yes? She comes across as haughty and judgmental... Is she in real life?

There is much I could say, but I won't.

I'm not a YCLF fan. I'm not a Gretchen fan.

And I am spending the next two weekends at conferences, and it never occurred to me to ask my husbands permission.

Wow. There's so much material to mock in that entry, I don't even know where to begin! Let's start with this statement:

We learned that sisterly duties don’t have to be limited to domestic things, far removed from what the boys are doing.

For this project, the women spent nearly all of their time working from home in Tennessee; the men, in contrast, traveled to Egypt. It's a good thing Egypt is essentially in Tennessee's backyard; otherwise, this statement might display an incredible lack of self-awareness.

Isaac was about to take a big step, a bold risk, a fearless stand, and we didn’t want to miss that for the world! If Isaac was going to stand inside a mosque and call Muhammed a false prophet, and denounce Statism in front of the giant pillars at Karnak, we, for one, wanted to be on his home team.

It's so brave to announce your Christian beliefs at a tourist site thousands of Christians visit every day. One hears that Isaac even carried a tote bag with a photo of R. J. Rushdoony into the mosque!
