Anna leaving - is that Priscilla hugging her? I saw David Waller leaving the courthouse.

No, not Priscilla.

They leave around the 20 min mark.

I would like to think JB is struck by his utter failure to protect his children - every single one - and his exploitation of them on cable TV. I wonder if the feeling of (again) having cameras (but not the narcissistic TLC spotlight) of shame in his face does anything on an emotional level. If he hadn't been complicit and abusive to begin with - and hadn't funded his son's defense - maybe I'd feel an inkling of pity for him here.

I wonder why JB and Anna didn’t exit together? What could have been the downside to that?

Maybe he blames Anna for not being available enough for him?

after he gets out he’s on probation for 20 years- no unsupervised contact with minors (including M kids), no pornography and no internet access unless approved by probation officer.

Does that mean that he won’t be able to live in the same house as the M kids that are still minors when he comes out?  That might pose a problem for Anna.

Sometimes, when people express their feelings very performatively, it is hard to focus on the genuineness of those feelings.  Maybe that is unfair, but it did seem that Amy is trying to push herself forward unnecessarily. I know if my cousins were in trouble, even if I thought they deserved it, I wouldn’t be giving interviews condemning them. 🤷‍♀️

I think a lot of this is personality style too. I mean, I would 1000% be speaking up if I had a public platform and it was my extended family. I would feel like I needed to name the truth for the other siblings still under the cult spell and try and be an advocate for survivors. IIRC, Amy has volunteered with an org with other survivors - maybe DV? - so this may be an area she wants to personally advocate for as well. Or she could be processing her own trauma from it all, too. I mean, it's like the classic discussion of abuse: when people are escaping a burning building, you don't fault them for going out the wrong exit door. Sure, Amy wasn't in as deep, but she has trauma from this as well.

If he was, he would have left with Joy or been seen to interact with her.  Both the Ashley's and the Sun are saying that JB didn't interact with either Joy or Jason at all during the whole thing.

One of those children he didn't protect was sitting in the same room as him all day, and he continued to use all his parenting support on her abuser.

I'm ready to see Derrick and Amys reaction, also any Duggar child, but Derrick, Amy and tbh Jeremy are the three I'm most ready for.

this is officially good news because then Anna will not be having any more children. Madison can grow up safe!

It would be easier for them (to meet the termsof probation) than anyone else. Anna & the Mkids live in the warehouse, Joshley "visits" during the day when he can be supervised, then he sleeps at the big house.

Yes, but she could basically never leave the house alone because it would leave Josh with the kids. I don't see how it would be tenable without creating a ton of tension and logistical difficulty.

How can you supervise 24/7?  All else aside, I am surprised they could live in the same house as the kids.

Slightly different footage  of Jim Bob and Anna leaving court.

JB is pissed.

Anna looks checked out.

Pecan lead JB out and Anna seemed to be a separate group from those two.

I hope Josh files for divorce. I don't think Anna will, unless she somehow gets therapy or some sort of help from outside the cult. Maybe things will just become too impossible to stay on the compound.

So devastating for all the children. I believe Amy when she said she was speaking up for their benefit too. I wonder if when Jill left she knew Amy and Deanna to be somewhat safe family members, so maybe there is hope there.

By the time he gets out though, he'll he'll likely have grandkids.  Isn't his oldest 13 or so?

But I don't think he'll return to Anna and the kids, assuming she's not moved on by then.

In my limited experience in other states with poc there is no trust given to the mother if she lives with him.  Her children would be removed.

This is my experience in Canada as well, the children are removed from the home.

I wouldn't be surprised if Derek is instructed by his job to not comment, particularly if he wanted a longer sentence.

So David Waller escorts JB and Anna is left with what looks like a female member of the defence team to accompany her out of court. It speaks volumes

Long, long time lurker. What a day for a first post.

I was watching a video earlier and it showed Jill and Derrick entering court as the poster was giving updates on the sentencing. Were they there, or was it old footage?

Also, the man who left soon after Joy; was that Jeremy's Dad?

I have it on good authority that Anna kicked JB in the balls right before she tore out of there.😅

$50000 in fines as well - what happens if Josh can't afford it?

Maybe the widow will help him out?

Something is up here.

I have a funny feeling she won't be in the warehouse much longer.

Does anyone know if the federal "get out early"/ serving only 85% of sentence will require him to express regret/remorse for his actions?

I've seen way too many cases of CSAM (state, not federal) where an adult male relative has committed sexual abuse of an adolescent and been sentenced to only 6 to 12 months of probation and counseling before the state has dismissed and expunged all charges, so the 12.5 years is more than I dared believe would happen.

I'm hoping the Ms end up attending school outside the home and real therapy/help is available to them.

It's solely based on good behavior while in prison.
