I just think that the people who benefit the most--and as you note that's capitalism, which I personally do not think of as a good thing--are not necessarily the workers. I’m just trying to wrap my head around how @SimpleMe handles day to day life if even products not involving human exploitation must be avoided if an industry has any human rights issues. I guess the barter system with only people you know and products you see being made? This seems impossible. 
 

Yes the porn industry has human rights issues, so does the coffee industry, the chocolate, the meat, the farm, and the list goes on. The key is to acknowledge the problem and try to only consume ethically produced products. And yes, it might be hard to know if a woman in porn is fully consenting, but it also hard to know if the chocolate in a candy bar was harvested by a child slave. People just have to do their best. Be a conscious consumer.

Lurking on and off for many years. Had to join after this.

When the report initially came out about Josh molesting his sisters and his parents doing nothing to get him the help he actually needed, I knew it would never stop. I felt and continue to feel so bad for his own children and all the other kids he has open access to.

When the news broke he was arrested I thought it had probably to do with money laundering or tax evasion. I wasn’t too hopeful. Then it came out what it was actually for and I’m relieved - he’ll most likely be going to prison and won’t be able to offend for the time being. I hope the judge orders him to participate in programs while locked up.

As far as Anna. Yes, she’s a full blown adult. She’s not a child. But she grew up 100% sheltered and indoctrinated. All she knows is ATI. She may be on social media but she’s so brainwashed I’m not even sure she’s capable of thinking for herself (as in, drawing her own conclusions and making her own choices).

All she’s ever known and all she hears is that Josh’s actions are her responsibility, for not satisfying him enough in the bedroom. It’s absolutely disgusting. I hope she is able to see that it is on Josh and Josh alone. Her leaving him and moving in with her free siblings and building her own life is wishful thinking.

Jumped out at me too.

Not, makes me want to hurl my lunch.  Or makes me frightened for my young cousins and second cousins.   Or even makes me question if I really ever knew Josh.
