Are they sure they want to get rid of the EC? If it weren’t for the electoral college Al Gore and Hillary Clinton would have been president. Republicans have a knack of losing the popular vote

I'm not a lawyer but I read law twitter... I think removing the ECA wouldn't get rid of the electoral college, it's just something they added after a contentious election (Hayes-Tilden) to clarify how the disputes about electoral slates are resolved,

Earlier this week, a conservative commentator said that Congress should be careful about protesting/not counting the EC votes because that would empower Dems to get rid of the EC. I can't remember where I saw or heard it, but I would love to get rid of the EC.

I'm now wondering if all these ludicrous legal attempts were done this badly on purpose.  As each one failed it would have inflamed the orange turd's base more and more.  This base was already simmering so each denial by the judges would have added fuel to the fire - resulting in yesterday's insurrection attempt.

I don’t think the people involved are clever enough to come up with that and pull it off. I can’t imagine anyone managing to keep the likes of Powell and Ghouliani on script for long enough.
