I, personally, am glad Carolina had another girl. I remember being so pissed when the Bontragers announced that they had their third grandson, with zero mention of it being their fourth grandchild overall. At least now Jubilee's not alone.

Taking the "virtue name" thing a bit literally, huh? And Jemima, oof. Maybe she can go by Mimi.

Jem is also a cute, as well as truly outrageous nickname. Truly, truly, truly outrageous.

It’s sad that the Bontragers would never get that reference. Remember how the Jem doll was gigantic compared to barbies? They could never share clothes. But hey, she has light up earrings that were pretty badass.

Well, I didn't see that coming. First Jubilee and now Jemima.  Hope they do give her a cute nickname.

Jemima is adorable. I can't help but think of Jemima Kirke from Girls who is as gorgeous as she is annoying (fun fact - my husband went to college with her). But overall I'm a sucker for old frilly girl names like Tallulah and Delilah so Jemima fits right in.

Are both Bontrager / Bowers couples doing a naming theme? One has two W's and the other two J's

Just when we thought the Duggars had used all possible "J" names, we get Jemima Bontrager. At least she won't get the chance to be made fun of at school...? But I also agree she should go by Jem, because that would be awesome.

The Bowers' all have C names, besides the mom, so I'm guess they are continuing that tradition.

I really wish they'd had a boy, for so many reasons. I hope Carolina and Carson are happy having daughters, but I worry they might have a hard time given the emphasis placed on boys in those families.

I love the name Jemima but I didn't know the 'Aunt Jemima' reference until moving to the US. Growing up in Australia, I had neighbors with children called Imogen, Christian, Andrew "Drew", and Jemima. Christian was my age and I mostly played with him but I always loved both of his sisters' names. But after living in the US for most of my adult life and knowing that 'Aunt Jemima' is most American's immediate association and the baggage that comes with that, I struck it off my list of names I'd truly ever consider for a real child long ago. It doesn't have the same associations in Australia, although Jemima was one of the dolls who made regular appearances on the TV show, 'Play School' when I was little, and then there's Jemima Puddleduck!

I tend to think associations with names weaken when you meet a real-life child with the name but I wouldn't be willing to take the chance that it remained for my own kid, especially when they're just as likely to grow up in the US as Australia. But I do love the name and I love that it means 'dove'.

Jemima Virtue is very Puritan. Both names were quite commonly used by the Puritans as first names and middle names.

Rusty Thomas announced on his fb a few weeks ago that his daughter Shenikah Grey had her 3rd baby, a daughter named Primrose Marie on August 11th.

His son Micah and wife Bella announced recently on Instagram that they’re having their 1st baby in January.

I think Rusty’s two older married sons must use some sort of birth control. They got married and didn’t announce any pregnancy the first couple of years.

Bella said this is a rainbow baby so maybe they just had trouble getting and/or staying pregnant. I don’t know about Elijah and Lindsey though.

Jemima Puddleduck was honestly what I thought of first before I ever thought of Aunt Jemima, even with it being in the news lately. Gotta love Beatrix Potter's tales.

Looking at clara nollkamper insta story, I'm guessing it will be another Irish twin. Shes got to be at least 6 months gone seeing those type of movements (and that's talking from my professional experience). She also replied on the radfords insta that shes having #12 soon. That's because she has to keep telling every large family she follows on instagram shes having a #12 ?

Ugh, I SEVERLY need a rolling eye emoji with her! She isn't even really Quiverfull like many other families we follow, she is just addicted to pregnancy and the attention her large family brings to her, not even to them as a whole but to her and only her. And what is with this secret/not so secret pregnancy? I mean we already call her pregnant in June just from the caption and a photo...?

eta I'm talking about Clara, not Jinger Duggar

Good grief, poor #11 might have an "Irish twin" on either side of him. I'm exhausted just thinking about the pregnancies and births so close, to say nothing of caring for all those kids so close in age.

I wouldn't say they aren't quiverful - they're not full on fundie but they're definitely not mainstream. They talk about the influence faith had in their decision to not have a vasectomy.

I haven't seen that interview earlier this was why I said they weren't Quiverfull, but just pregnancy addicted. Thanks for filling me in

Sometimes I wonder if pregnancy addicts just say they are leaving it up to god because it sounds better than, “I have to be pregnant constantly to feel good about myself.”

Yes, or “I just like the attention I get from having a lot of kids” or “I don’t actually have any sense of identity or purpose outside pregnancy or babies”.

I love my child, but was a complete person before motherhood and don’t stake my entire identity on being a mother. It’ll be bittersweet having her grow up, because she’ll be our only, but missing this phase isn’t a good enough reason to do it again. I also didn’t like the attention around my pregnancy, so that isn’t a draw for me either.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
